    Smoked Brisket Tacos
    John S.

Working my way through the different food options at the Edge Entertainment District, The QueBicle was next on my list. Taco Tuesday meant trying the Smoked Brisket Tacos with Que Slaw, Crema, Pico, Cotija, Queso & Onion Dust. While I am not opposed to slaw on a taco, the mayo was overpowering. I liked the brisket and other ingredients together but will probably go with a different option on my next visit. Maybe one of the sandwiches, Brisket Helper or Smoked Turkey Club Tacos. I visited at lunch, so I had my choice of tables and a short wait for the food.

Tried this spot at The Edge and I have to say it's pretty good. Not surprising given that it's run by the people who run Porky's Pride Smokehouse in Hayden, which is a real gem out there if you're in that area near Rickwood Caverns. The cheese grits are a must. Definitely get those. The meats are all up to par and I'm a fan of their pulled pork in particular, but whatever you get you can expect it to be good. Prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of room to sit given that it's in The Edge which is somewhat of an outdoor food hall. Overall a solid option and a nice venue in which to spend a little time. Will definitely return.

Pork nachos and Rueben sandwich with kimchi Brussel sprouts

This was a cute little BBQ place located within The Edge. It's BBQ with a flare. I got to pork nachos which were a little spicy but great! The nacho chips were bbq flavor, loaded with sauce, tomatoes, Cojita cheese and green onions. It was a good portion for $11. My boyfriend got the Reuben sandwich was kimchi Brussel sprouts. The sandwhich was really good! The bread was toasted, 1000 island dressing had a unique flavor, several different cheeses, great crunch in the sour krout, and meat was cooked tender! The Brussels were cold and probably a little too salty for my taste. I'll try a different side next time. Great place to bring family and hang out to enjoy the outdoors!

The bbq nachos are worth 5 stars alone!! I read the reviews and just had to have them. They did not disappoint! The star of the entire dish has to be the chips, as they did not get soggy AT ALL!! The bbq pork has a nice flavor. And all the toppings were very fresh. I don't normally go crazy over nachos but the ones here are Fantastic! The service was friendly and my order didn't take long. I really enjoyed my food and the outdoor space.

Tried somewhere new this afternoon for a late lunch. The young lady working by herself did a great job and was very friendly. We tried the brisket nachos and a pork plate with a side of Que slaw and macaroni and cheese. The nachos were pretty good. I am not sure we didn't get a mix of pork/brisket on the plate, but regardless it tasted good. The sides were good. Need to add real sweet tea to the drink options. Ceiling fans kept the seating area very comfortable on a hot summer day.

The Edge in Homewood is truly a gem! Lots of space to sit and enjoy the many food options. I went to Quebicle and it was amazing! The service is extremely fast and the food was great! Their portion sizes are pretty large. It's one of the many great food options at The Edge

I also learned they've made the exciting move from being a food truck to their own brick-and-mortar location. Congratulations on such a wonderful milestone! I ordered the quesabirria tacos with a side of chips (the chips don't come with the meal). The tacos are served with consommé and a side of refried black beans. Everything was DELICIOUS! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I'd give the quesabirria a 9.7/10. The only thing that would have made it even better for me would have been a little crispy cheese crunch. The salsa, which I had to request, was a bit spicier than I prefer. But then again, my son recently informed me that I'm a spice wimp... or something to that effect. So take that review for what it's worth! Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was friendly and FAST. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, and they even have a patio if you enjoy outdoor dining. Congratulations again on your new location! I'll definitely be back.

This time, however, I decided to try the quesabirrias, and unfortunately, they were disappointing. I also ordered a horchata, which I didn't think was very good. The biggest area that needs improvement is the customer service. I would describe it as average at best, and in some ways, closer to poor. I understand that no one is obligated to greet customers or wish them a good day, but when you're paying for a meal--especially at a place that isn't exactly cheap--you at least expect to be treated with kindness. During my visit, no one greeted me when I walked in or when they came to take my order, and overall the staff didn't seem very welcoming or attentive. While I was waiting for my food, I asked if I could get a little more horchata. The employee simply replied, "No, you have to buy another one." I responded, "No, that's okay." Honestly, if the horchata had been really good, I would have gladly paid for another one. It wasn't so much about having to buy a second drink--it was more about the way the situation was handled. Small interactions like that can make a big difference in how customers feel. I truly believe this restaurant has a lot of potential. If they improved their customer service and showed a little more warmth and empathy toward their customers, it could easily become one of the best Mexican restaurants in Birmingham. The food has potential, but the overall dining experience also depends on how customers are treated, and that's the area that still needs the most improvement.

The truck itself is really nice, with bright colors, a large sun visor, and many pictures of menu items decorating it. I really like the variety of drinks and chips they offer, and I appreciate that they are visible to customers. I didn't have to wait very long in line even though it was pretty busy when I arrived, and my food also came out pretty quick! The staff were very friendly and were happy to answer my questions regarding their menu. I got the chicken tacos, and they were delicious! I could tell right off the bat that they put a lot of effort into serving high-quality food full of flavor. I really enjoyed the sauces as well. It is a food truck, so the atmosphere is super casual, and there is normally a small crowd, but you likely won't be waiting long. They are located in a super convenient spot, so it is never too much of a task to stop by. Overall, Dos Hermanos is a great choice if you want a quick, affordable, and delicious meal. I will definitely be back! One thing to keep in mind is that they close pretty early, but works perfectly for a nice lunch.

In fact, I'm getting warm feelings right now just thinking about my time here. Their vegan option is a nopal taco (tender, marinated cactus). It's excellent, but what makes it next level is that SALSA BAR with the best salsas I've ever had. It reminds me of taquerias in California. I drowned my taco in all of the sauces. In fact, I could probably be happy eating tortillas and salsa here. Because, yes, the tortillas are that delicious. As is that guac. Again, some of the best I've ever had, gimmicky tableside guac included (never felt that was such a great thing anyway). Here, you get a generous portion of the creamiest quality guac you can imagine. I can't report on the margaritas other than to say they look gorgeous. The wine pours are also generous and the prosecco is damn good.

You can add onions, limes, cilantro and pickled onions and pickled jalapeños as well as sauce. They had a Verde sauce as well as regular salsa, and a Salsa Borachja sauce with onion, garlic and Mexican beer. It was spicy and delicious. They have plenty of counter seating, a few tables inside and several tables outside. This is a tapas bar more than a testaurant.
