Well prepared sushi and rolls which are very tasty, fresh, innovative and reasonably priced. Considering the pricing, this is one of the best sushi restaurants between Newport and San Clemente. All the restaurants are all small and fill up early so get there early if you hate waiting for a table. read more

I have been coming here for over 6 years and have referred many friends to this restaurant, however, my last visit was far from pleasant. The guy waiter asked me to sit anywhere when i got in. So i went ahead and i sat at a table. The much older asian lady waitress asked me to move. When she couldn't figure out where she wants to move me, she told me to just stay. Her attitude the whole time i was there was far from pleasant. The other younger asian lady was so nice though and made sure she smiled and was very helpful. The other older asian lady's mediocre service ruined my dinner. I am not sure I will be coming back and definitely will not be referring people to this restaurant. read more

This is our go to for sushi here in South County/San Clemente. The location is super friendly and warm. Right now due to Covid they're only doing takeout and delivery. You must wear a mask. Either order online or view the menu once you get there. We pretty much order the same thing week to week including the salmon lemon roll, Crunchyroll, sushi lunch, etc. We've pretty much eaten the entire menu and I've never had a bad experience. The fish always tastes fresh and is ample in portion. It really is a great value. Let's support our small businesses and if you haven't already try visiting Full Moon sushi. I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place. Also just a quick note, they really do a good job packaging everything and including all of the sauces, chopsticks, etc. Easy parking out front. It's only a 5-10 minute drive to the beach so you could grab some sushi and have a great picnic nearby. Don't forget to tip! Stoped by here for lunch today. Other yelpers mentioned combination dishes and other options for under $10. I did not see any of these so I opted for a blue fin roll for just under $13. A two dollar tip and I had myself a $15 lunch. The first thing I noticed was how small the roll was. Also the chef sliced the fish so thin you could see through it. These thin slices were then set atop the rice roll. So basically you get a roll of rice and a few grams of protein for $15. It was however delicious even if I could barely taste the fish. Because I was still hungry I went home and had lunch. I think this is a great lunch for any one watching their weight. read more

Cleanliness is not their forte as you can see in the pictures. I almost left before ordering, as I began to get nervous the more I looked around. The lemon salmon roll was not bad. The lemon on top didn't seem the freshest (slightly brown) but the roll tastes ok in general. The salmon sushi wasn't great. Crunch roll was OK. The Toro sushi was listed on the Specials board and is one of my favorites so I thought I'd try it. Toro is typically a specialty item and when it's good, it's melt in your mouth delicious! This one was absolutely terrible. I had to spit it out into a napkin and definitely didn't eat the second piece. The marbled fat had a weird texture (not buttery as it should be) and tasted rancid or something - it's hard to describe. Hopefully I won't get sick since I didn't swallow it. They were nice enough to not charge me for the Toro. The service is mediocre, nothing special (I had to ask for a dish for my soy sauce). I was drawn to come here because of their decent prices, but honestly, it's just not worth it. The lack of cleanliness is a major turn off. I mean, at least wipe down the grime on the doors once in a while! read more
