I've been with Dr. Harry Wong for a long long time, as a motorcycle rider, I was having issues with making right turns, my hip was limiting for hanging of the right side. Have Dr.Wong checked me out (he is a great motorcycle rider), turns out that my lower back was compressed, 3 disc out of 5 was thinner than normal. Dr. Wong took the time and explained how we can rebuilt the disc together, and did emphasize that I will need to do the right exercise to make all these work. I had trust in him, it took 6 months to rebuilt the disc from 3mm to 5mm. After that, monthly maintenance. It's been I don't know how long(over 10 years), but I don't have any back issues, and of course, I had no problems making right turns on the race track. With all the other forms of exercises that he showed me, I kept myself pretty well maintained and healthy. I found Full Motion while visiting the Foster City Art and Wine Festival. I was having some very bad back issues and I was always skeptical of chiropractors but after talking to Dr Wong I felt like it was worth a try. I had my initial appointment with one of the other doctors in the office and had x-rays done. All was going well until I returned for my follow up visit and the explained what they thought I needed. First of all they told be it would take 60 visits to fix my back and they would send Star in to talk to me about my payment options. He then said I'm going to adjust you now and he did. Then Star comes in...This is where is started to feel like I was buying a used car...Star explained my options for the 60 visits priced at $5500 but if I paid today I would get 20%, installments, blah, blah, blah. Tells me all about her personal experiences and how Dr. Wong helped her with everything from weight loss to sleeping better...Then she says oh and the doctor adjusted you today so that will be $78. When I looked at her strange she said "oh the doctor didn't tell you that you would be charged $78. okay we will waive that fee today" Sleezy, sales pitch all the way. I've had much better, more honest experiences buying a used car... I did not return. read more

I got free check at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival in which I was offered a couples rate of $50 for two X-rays and adjustments. When we arrived at Full Motion there was minimal wait time, we got in and received our X-rays. We were told by Dr. Duong that he did not want to give us adjustments until he really took a hard look at the set of X-rays and we would have to come back. A week later we arrived for our appointment to be told that my girl friend and I both had severe issues with our spines that would require extensive work and given plans that were basically the exact same. $11,000 worth of chiropractics would be needed to fix our collapsing discs, and if we didn't start immediately we would cease to be able to do basic physical activity. The front desk clerk was even trying to sell us on the "magic" they performed on her and how she quit her job and moved to Belmont to work for them. If we paid cash same day we had a discount, if we couldn't afford it we could apply for their credit. They even tried to throw in an extra 10% family discount on the way out. I felt like I was trying to be sold a vehicle. I believe this place to be a scam and would recommend people stay away. I am appalled at the scare tactics used to get people to buy their "product", they honestly do not care about you. They also decided against giving us the adjustments we paid for because we wouldn't buy. read more

Before seeing Dr. Harry Wong I had been in tremendous pain & discomfort for almost 4 months 12-24 hours a day with no end in sight. I had been diagnosed with a thoracic sprain, protruding T-1,2 disc, Pinched Nerve T-6,7, and inflammation in several muscle groups. I had been on 4 different medications including ice, heat and physical therapy almost every day. Not able to lay down to sleep in any position and needed to buy a recliner to sleep in. Needless to say my day-to-day life was unbearable, and was only sleeping between two and three hours a night at the most. Not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars spent on medical care. Just after about a half dozen visits with Dr. Wong I noticed an almost immediate improvement. I was able to cut back on most of the medication over a longer period of time, half the amount of icing required, sleeping better through the night and my day to day improved tremendously. From day one he took me under his wing and thoroughly examined my issue ensuring me that this was something that can be reversed and that I should see some improvement very shortly. Never once did he treat me like a number or treat me as if he had several patients in line & didn't have time. I accidentally came upon the Full Motion Chiropractic booth at the Annual Foster City Art and Wine Festival. Dr. Duong offered me a free assessment so I figured "why not?!" I noticed they were located in Belmont and mentioned my chiropractor is also located in Belmont. He immediately asked if I saw Dr. ___. I said yes. He said he knew my chiropractor too. After my free assessment, I was offered a $50 deal to come in and get an X-ray and adjustment. What intrigued me was how Dr. Duong explained that their office treated patients with a restorative approach which was different from the relief care that most chiropractors practice... He said restorative care means patients will recover and isn't temporary like relief care. So, I took the bait and got the deal. My husband and I were shocked to find out that although he had very little back problems and I had some discomfort, our X-rays showed severe deformities. I understand there maybe underlying issues that doesn't cause a whole lot of pain until later in life. The X-rays were very interesting. I really liked how Dr. Duong explained chiropractic care to us and probably would have been a patient if I had a better experience. However, Dr. Duong was very aggressive and expressed that he couldn't even believe my husband was walking at all. With my husband's spinal health, he'd imagine my husband was in constant and excruciating pain. He proceeded to tell us we needed treatment immediately, as if we have no other option. He was extremely aggressive in his approach which was a HUGE turnoff! Then he presented us with a treatment package that would cost $10,000+ upfront cash on that day. He also present an option to get a payment plan with CareCredit for a higher price. He said the cash offer was a 20% discount from the actual price and that the offer would expire that day. I told him that we had very good insurance that covered chiropractic treatments. He informed me that they don't take insurance, they took cash but would be happy to help submit claims on our behalf to recover payments from our insurance. He even said that most times insurance reimbursements resulted in even more money to the patient than what we would have paid in cash to their office. This really didn't make sense to me at all. If billing the insurance is likely to generate more revenue, why would a business not take that route?! Why would they take peanuts from the patients' pockets? The surprising outcome of our X-rays coupled with Dr. Duong's extreme aggressiveness and demand for us to get immediate treatment was overwhelming. I told Dr. Duong we would think about the care plans he's provided and call him when we were ready to proceed. Dr. Duong then launched into a verbal attack on our chiropractor. He repeatedly said something along the lines of "If you don't want to get good treatment then by all means you can continue to see Dr. ___ up the road! He's only offering you relief care! I send patients to him all the time if they don't want to get the proper treatment from our office. Does he even offer X-rays in his office?!" I actually really, really like how compassionate and professional my chiropractor up the road was! The only reason why I was here was because I was suckered into a good deal that sounded interesting at the Art & Wine Festival. What kind of professional would launch such an ugly attack on another local professional?! Especially in such a small town!! This is bordering on slander and defamation of another professional! Unfounded accusations could mean liability to a business! This was about the point where I stopped being nice and I again told Dr. Duong we would call them if we decided to proceed. I was very, very, very disappointed in the lack of professionalism, lack of compassion, and lack of bedside manners I experienced with this practice. Most health-related practices I've encountered that runs as a cash practice usually offers concierge level service, which makes their practice attractive to patients -- this office was FAR from it. Since then, Dr. Duong has called me countless times and left many voicemails. I've never once returned any of his calls. He even called me 6 times on one particular day. Recently, I've received an email from this office expressing concern and urging me to seek care with their office. Again, I have not responded. I was suffering from sharp intense pain in the back of my neck for 6 months. I took pain relievers and muscle relaxers but nothing helped to alleviate the pain. It was very hard to function in life. Life saver! I could not sleep for more than 5 hours before waking up with pain in my back. After changing mattresses etc. I decided to visit Doc. Harry Wong's practice. He did a free evaluation witch included x-ray's showing me that the lowest disk in my spine had flattened to less than 3mm. That also explains why I had to take my time getting out off the water after a dive... They proposed me a treatment plan that did not include operations or scary injections. But a well thought out plan to restore my spine with a guarantee to get that disk back to 8mm or better. Sure it takes a investment in time and money since his plan would take me up to 6 months. This was first experience with chiropractic care and if I could give Doc Wong & FMC more than 5-Stars I would! His "Wellness Plan" in just the first week eliminated all of the pain I've been experiencing for years! Cause of Pain & Reason for my visit: In 2008 I highsided my motorcycle in Turn 2 @ Sears Point and landed on the side of my head, shoulder & back. Years later I had just accepted that I would have to live with persistent neck, shoulder and mid & lower back pain. Well a couple of weeks ago I rode shotgun in a friend's NSX race car @ Laguna Seca and the severe jolts from the car's suspension aggravated my back so bad that it prompted contacting Doc Wong @ FMC for a consultation. My first experience w/ Doc Wong & FMC ------------------------------------------------------- So my first visit was on a Monday. Doc Wong was very apt to understand how I injured myself, the level & location of my pain and his initial examination was very thorough, but the the X-rays he said would really highlight the problem areas. I returned 2 days later for a review of my X-rays and they confirmed the areas of pain, but also showed why... 4 compressed discs! My discs were at level 3 of 4 on a scale of severity, but Doc Wong stated that my condition could be rehabilitated with chiropractic care and a specially tailored "Wellness Plan." What happened next was very important and could be a deciding factor for many on going forward or not... The "Wellness Plan" ----------------------------- Doc Wong made a very clear distinction between their "Wellness Plan" and how the insurance companies interpret/cover chiropractic care. Like most of the reviewers have mentioned, I found this place is a money-making scheme to scam people who need real medical care. I went to see Harry Wong after a colleague mentioned his clinic. I have a herniated disc, sciatic pain, stenosis, and the whole nine yards of spinal issues. They had me watch a 15 minute video and I spoke to him for only 5 minutes. He took a couple x-rays and told me I have a neck injury that needs alignment, despite the fact the problem is from the lumbar region which an MRI scan showed when I went to the hospital. Although they offered a "free" consultation, they charged $180 for the x-ray on my first visit. They don't take insurance either so I paid out of pocket. I was told I need to come back the next day for an urgent follow up. I was foolish enough to go back and got a 10 minute rubdown and ended up paying $300. Then they tried really hard to sell me a packaged deal for $6000. After I declined I received a number of phone calls and text messages asking me to reconsider. This is their common practice/protocol to sell their program. Even inside their clinic are posted reviews of previous customers claiming they were healed. I guess this lures the customer to buy into the final sales pitch. I never heard of any other medical clinic that does this. I only leave negative reviews for places where I've been cheated or something is fraudulent. I got duped into this, but at least I learned about this place so nobody has to get screwed like I did. I am a pretty active and healthy individual, but I have been suffering from hip and leg pain for years. I tried various practitioners of acupressure and massage who were well known for their excellent bodywork. None of these were able to ameliorate the problems appreciably. I also worked through the Kaiser system and received x-rays showing nothing wrong with my spine. It was uncomfortable to stand and walk, although for the most part able to function normally with a slight limp. Then my physical situation became dramatically worse. Due to the pandemic shutdown, I stopped much of my normal physical activity. In an attempt to compensate, I walked for about an hour a day, but my activity was still limited when compared with the work I was accustomed to doing. When I finally went back to work, I had to do some heavy lifting and much more varied activity, typical of my work responsibilities. Soon afterward, I had a severe case of sciatica, experiencing excruciating pain which prevented me from being able to stand. Moving my leg, even while laying down gave me extreme pain. I couldn't get out of bed, stand up or walk. I could only get around by crawling or using a walker, and had to sleep on the floor because I couldn't get out of my bed. I felt desperate and wondered how I would be able to go back to work. It seemed like I was facing an obstacle that was insurmountable and might derail my life. I was depressed and longed to simply be able to stand and walk naturally. I reached out to a friend for the recommendation of a chiropractor and she brought me to Dr. Wong that same day. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Wong and his method. He recognized my problem, and quickly diagnosed it as sciatica and nerve adhesions along the spine. Dr. Wong took x-rays which demonstrated the extent of the condition, and explained his systematic process for treatment, targeted to eliminate these adhesions. The explanation for the pain completely made sense to me and seemed to correspond to what I had been experiencing. I felt great relief and hope in knowing that there was a complete system in place to solve my problem. I had been struggling to stand straight, and had considered that inability to mark some lack of resolve on my part. Now I understand that my spine has been twisting through the years, and then twisting further to compensate for the original twists. The nerves are caught and attached in places which prevent me from being able to stand straight. As I started to receive treatment and adjustments to release the adhesions, I noticed my back straightening, and I could feel my neck and upper spine untwisting. My mobility improved dramatically and I was able to walk without a cane. I started to resume normal work and was able to take walks again. Even my breathing improved and I felt more relaxed. In addition, Dr. Wong taught me about how we can make simple changes in our lives to improve our spines and promote the process of untwisting. He helped me assess the shoes I was wearing and find ones which promoted back health. It was surprising that the supportive shoes I had considered the most beneficial were inhibiting my ability to stand straight and make good contact with the ground. Those supportive shoes were aggravating my condition and causing back and hip pain. By finding natural "bare foot" shoes, much of the pain in my hip was alleviated. Similarly, sleep position is important in allowing the spin to untwist. I got an "ABC" pillow designed to adjust to a height which permits the neck and spine to align while lying on one's side. Suddenly, I was able to sleep readily and wake without the typical leg pain. I feel as though I can improve my spine even as I sleep and wake up refreshed. The most important part of my experience at Full Motion Chiropractic is the hope and optimism that it has given me. The staff is warm and caring, making the clinic a destination that I look forward to and enjoy every week. Although I am still in the early stages of my recovery process, I have a sense that I will be able to accomplish it and live a fuller life. I use to work for Dr. Harry Wong in his Redwood City office in 2008. He's a great boss and awesome Dr. Who cares for his patients and their well-being. He takes the time to explain to each patient whats going on with them and then plans out their own personal treatment plan. I have used Full Motion Chiropractic since the 90s. The staff is always very pleasant and helpful. Even when I walked in without an appointment there was very little delay before I was seen. Relief is always quick. There never is any doubt that Full Motion understands the body and chiropractic. I once pulled a hamstring when getting off my motorcycle and stepped in oil. I could barely walk. That afternoon I walked in without an appointment and was treated and back on my feet and Motorcycle the next day with no pain. When medical attention is needed there is no hesitation to make a referral medical doctors. After a motorcycle crash in 2001 that left me with broken ribs and collar bone I was in the hospital for 3 days. A week later I was seeing Dr. Wong and getting regular treatments. Two months later I was back on the motorcycle and riding competently again and no pain shortly after. Dr. Wong is very community minded and has hosted free safety and health clinics for street bikes, dirt bikes, sports cars, scuba diving and has encouraged others to get involved and take responsibility for the activities we are involved in. On several occasions I have joined Dr. Wong to fund raise for the La Honda Fire Department. La Honda is a very popular crossroad for motorcyclists in the area and many bikers owe a debt to the Fire Department. I was very skeptical about chiropractic care for back pain after having one bad experience 15 years ago. However, after a visit to Dr. Wong I am ready to give it a try. I did not read reviews before coming in, but I did now and I see very few complaints about no result or getting worse. This is impressive. Most negative reviews are about the upfront financial commitment required for a full course. That is similar to quotations I am getting from the dentists on the implant/sinus lift so it was not that shocking. Dr. Wong obviously can afford to turn away pay-as-you-go clients. I didn't like Dr. Johnny Duong's aggressive demeanor towards seeking care because it felt like I was talking to a car salesman. Dr. Duong made it seem like if I didn't see him as soon as possible, I'd be making a mistake by going with my current chiropractor. Additionally, he bad-mouthed the chiropractor I was seeing by basically telling me he didn't know what he was doing. The lack of professionalism, incessant phone calls, put-down of competitors, his know-it-all attitude, and belittling of my ability to make decisions made me feel like he didn't care for the well-being of my wife and I; but was more into getting us to commit to become paying customers. read more

Having been under the care of Full-motion Chiropractic for 2 years, I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the extraordinary level of care that they've provided, and how that care has significantly improved my health overall. ln 2013, after reviewing my X-Rays, and providing a clinical assessment of the state of my situation, Doc Wong recommended a plan for care that included numerous visits, scheduled as frequently as 5 days/week, reducing in frequency until visits of 1-2 times per week were indicated. In a word, Dr. Wong is amazing! I've been dealing with weak ankles and feet for decades, and my pronation (ankles falling inward) had been getting worse and worse, to the point that my feet were totally flat. Even with custom orthotics from my podiatrist, I would get incredible pain from standing or walking (more like hobbling) even short distances. My podiatrist wanted to operate, and I'm so glad that I came to Full Motion Chiropractic instead! I like to stay active, walking and cycling and weight training, and when my ankles/feet were fallen it was so incredibly hard to get moving, I only wanted to keep off my feet and rest. Now I'm able to walk and hike for mile after mile! It only took about 5 visits to Doc Wong before my ankles improved dramatically and the pain subsided. And since coming regularly to Full Motion, my previously flat feet now have strong, supportive arches like they used to many years ago! I've also started getting treatments for my back recently, which started spasming with shooting, stabbing pains. I love Full Motion Chiropractic! I became aware of Doc Wong through the motorcycling community, where he has a great reputation as a healer and fellow rider. After I came in for an evaluation, we discovered that I had a funky curve in my lower spine and a lot of compressed discs. After a few months of treatment, it was amazing to see the new x-rays and see how Doc Wong literally changed the shape of my spine and expanded my disks. I'm a software engineer and I spend a lot of time on computers and at the desk indoors most of the day while working. Dr. Wong is one of the best chiropractors I've ever experienced. After having treatments with numerous chiropractors over two decades, I can truly say he is consistently helpful. I first met Dr. Wong because he was the only one who would see me urgently the same day, and he answered his cell phone when the office was at lunch! Years later, when I was stuck out of town in my vehicle on Christmas Eve due to a very unfortunate episode of throwing my back out, I was so relieved he answered his cell phone again! He talked me through what I needed to do, and I will forever be grateful for his help. I signed on for Dr. Wong's treatment plan a couple of years ago and am thankful I did. At the age of 42, I was suffering from constant lower-back pain. I was a runner. I was captain of my company's JP Morgan Corporate Challenge (an annual charity run) team. I regularly ran 20-30 miles a week. I was athletic and worked out. When I saw my doctor, she recommended that I quit running. So, I did. The pain didn't go away. It just got worse. Overtime I developed sciatica--strong shooting pain that went down my leg. My doctor had me on pain medication and had me do physical therapy. I took up yoga and at my doctor's recommendation began to see a sports medicine specialist. I got an MRI. They said the scan showed that I had arthritis--but no real cause. There was nothing they could do. Surgery couldn't fix me. The sports medicine specialist had me see a pain specialist who administered two spinal injections over a course of a few months. While the injections helped, within a month of each I was right back where I started--in pain so bad that I couldn't sleep. I could barely walk. After the second injection, I begged for a third. I was told no. It was too expensive and insurance wouldn't cover it. The sports medicine specialist stopped returning my calls. I saw my doctor. I broke down in tears in her office. She said there was nothing that she could do. I had used up all of my options. The best that I could hope for would be that the pain would just go away. My life changed. I was no longer the person I had been: that person that did adventurous things; that person that took on challenges. Every task I did no matter how big or small was evaluated as something that I could or could not do within a time window before the pain would make me unable to continue. This included going to the grocery store, cooking for friends, or even sitting at my desk at work. Vacation travel was out of the question. Everyday and ordinary occurrences became almost insurmountable challenges for me. When I was 47 years old, I stepped into Doc Wong's office. I had never been to a chiropractor. I was assigned one of the doctors in the office. The doctor evaluated me by taking x-rays and listened to me. He told me what the problem was: two spinal bones very close to each other irritating the nerve. He told me what we (yes we!) would do: a regiment of adjustments and simple stretching exercises. I would like to say that I got better right away that some miracle happened. It didn't. I got better at first and then relapsed. My years spent as a runner worked against me. My muscles worked to push the bones closer while my new doctor worked to move them apart. "Doc" added a new regiment of stretches to elongate my iliopsoas muscles. After 6 months, I got new x-rays. My spine was no longer crooked. It was straight when looked from the front and had a wonderful curve when looked from the side. The gap between those two bones that caused my sciatica had grown from 2mm to 5mm. I was definitely making progress. Others things happened too. I was off pain killers--first time in almost 6 years! I was eating better too. After 9 months, Doc had me doing special lower back exercises to rebuild my muscles. Now, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel! My sciatica pain began to disappear for longer and longer durations. Today, I'm 51 years old, I still get adjusted. I've become active again. As part of my regiment to rebuild my back muscles, I started bicycling. After a few months I traded in my old bicycle for a new road bike. I started cycling in earnest to and from work twice a week. Last year I bought another bike and took up mountain biking. I also started to travel again. Last fall, I completed a cycling tour of the South of France where a rode 65 miles in one day (one of many days riding). Today, I am pain free. My experience at Doc Wong's office has been almost incredible. I say it's "incredible" because nine years ago I wouldn't have believed the journey that awaited me. Four years ago I didn't believe that I could be "cured." Doc Wong's staff has always treated me with respect and courtesy and always listened to what I had to say. Several doctors worked with me and adjusted me. I am grateful and indebted to all of them. Doc did more than help make the pain go away, he transformed me--I like to think made me younger. I am more aware of my corporeal being. I now stand up straight. That sounds simple, but it has an impact beyond the physical. When I was just a child (maybe 9) I started getting headaches really bad but could almost always fix them with Advil. I would say I would get 5 a month. After I moved to California in 1989 I fell down some stairs and landed on my head twisting my neck. I never went to the doctor and after about a week of a stiff neck I seemed ok. In the years to come from 1989 forward my headaches progressed to 10 to 12 days a month and would at times last 3 to 4 days. I spent years hiding the pain with pain killers until last year when I meet Dr. Wong at a motorcycle show. He was offering a free exam that I took advantage of. After the exam and xray review Dr. Wong told me what he could and could not do. After just the first visit I was able to turn my head further than I remembered I even could. This was very obvious when I was turning in my car and looked over my shoulder into a blind spot. Wow!!! I felt great and could not wait for the next visit. In the first 2 weeks of going every day I only had 2 headaches and both were very light and did not last long. My normal headache was actually migraines that made it hard to stand up and light was out of the question. The amazing thing is now I have been seeing Dr. Wong for 5 months and I have not had another headache in this time. During this time of back and neck treatment I had an issue with my ankle and calf muscle and even though it had nothing to do with my treatment Dr. Wong still looked at it and helped me in my recovery especially in helping me break down built-up scare tissue that was causing multiple issues and lots of pain. I really appreciate the way he takes personal interest in his customers and builds relationships with them. He is a doctor that actually takes time and cares. He also is incredible at giving back to the community of Motorcycle riders by offering many types of free sessions to help with riding skills, general health, motorcycle maintenance and ergonomics. I wish I would have seen Dr. Wong years ago as you don't need to live with pain like I did and your overall quality of life can be drastically increased by ensuring your nervous system is in good working order. Within the last 6 weeks I had a bad fall on a public sidewalk. I was very sore and had a black arm. I went to emergency and found out I did not have any broken arms. I saw a Chiropractor in East Bay, he adjusted me 1 time and said I will be OK. A week laster I still had the pain and discomfort. Walking around a nearby shopping center, I saw a Chiropractic office, the front desk lady was standing in the doorway and we started talking. I was rapidly losing mobility. Even walking was difficult. Dr. Wong made a number of slow, gradual adjustments over several months. Meanwhile, my walks between home and his office got easier. The hills were no longer an obstacle and distances seemed much shorter. My stride got longer and my neck straightened. I found myself looking at the tops of trees and the sky instead of the sidewalk. Dr. Wong is top-rate! Over the years I've only found a few really good chiropractors. Dr. Wong found a compressed disc in my lower back that none of these other very good chiropractors had found.
