I contacted Brandon and he was very prompt to come and provide a thorough and fair quote working within the unreasonable boundaries the insurance company had put on the project. Brandon was excellent to accommodate our schedule as much as possible within his existing scheduled work throughout the project. Communicating with Brandon was excellent and timely. When our custom vanity was due to arrive he added us in to his schedule. The vanity arrived the incorrect size and Brandon took the project as far as he could without the vanity. The vanity was reordered and when it arrived, Brandon made room on his schedule as soon as possible and finished the job promptly. In all he installed a new fan, repaired the damaged sheet rock, re-taped and texture matched all the patches and primed and painted the room, installed new baseboard, installed the new vanity, including all plumbing, re-installed our prior sink top as well as a new faucet, mirror and medicine chest. His work was outstanding and we were entirely pleased with the outcome! When that project completed, I asked Brandon to measure and quote for new Windows in the condo. He provided a quote which was approved by the HOA and we accepted. The windows were ordered and arrived very quickly. Brandon was very busy but made time to fit us in and installed the four large windows all in one day! During both projects Brandon and his assistant were careful to keep the Condo protected from damage and cleaned up as they went through the process. On the end of the window installation day we had an emergency leak start from the water heater and although Brandon wasn't available to install the new water heater the next day due to prior commitments, he graciously referred us to an excellent Plumber who took care of us. We had hired Steve at Snyder Remodeling & Home Repair for a home project for various small repairs…read morethrough out outside of our house. The job originally quoted for half day by both Steve and his worker. After Steve discussed with his worker, he took off and his worker took off several times during the repair because he needed to get the materials for the project then later needed to go back to shop to do a return, so on and so forth. So half day became one day but his worker still was not able to finish it, subsequently he had to come back for another half day to finish the project. We were really disturbed by his worker's performance because the job was just finished adequately. The biggest surprise for us is to discover few weeks later because his worker was hammering too forcefully when he was replacing part of the outside window wood frame due to dry rot damage, he cracked the inside window walls on both sides of the window (see pictures). We reached out to Steve and he stated it's cosmetic but did not offer to come back to repair it, so we even offered to pay him to get it repaired. Finally he sent the same worker who worked on the repair previously, when I asked him to wear shoe covers inside the house, he stated he had none, then he called Steve who told me over the phone again they don't have shoe covers and offered to use tarp on the floor instead which I agreed. However when Steve came, he entered the house without shoe covers and walked all over the front entrance and dinning room floor, I was so amazed and told him that I would put the tarp down instead of him walking all over my floor with his shoes on, he got upset and walked right out. I went out side and tried to reason with him also explained to him if his worker did not crack our inside window walls, we actually would not need this repair, he again said that I would not let him put down the tarp, I said again that he was walking with is shoes on my floor which I was trying to prevent, and told him again if i can put the tarp down myself. He got even more upset then yelled at me "I am done!" and took off with his worker!! Later we reached out to him, he just ignored us. This is really a disturbing experience for us which we utilized several other people from YELP with great results, and we thought that a small home project would not create so much hassles and lingering damage that needs another repair.

I have heard horror stories about the construction process, surprises that pop up in an old house (our house was built in the late 50's), and the REAL cost of the project. After meeting with four different contractors we decided on Cal Bay. Carlos came across as the most genuine and motivated to do good work. He also quoted us what I thought was a fair price. I can't say enough about Carlos and his crew. They were all very courteous and hard working. The project came out as we had hoped it would, probably even better. We did uncover some unforeseen items along the way that were additional charges, but Carlos was more than fair in his pricing. Also along the way, we added the dining room and all the doors in the house. Carlos was not annoyed with our adds and he did them at reasonable prices. With the little adds (additional outlets, ceiling fan install) I requested he never even added them to the price. Not every contractor would do that. What most people reading this want to know is, DOES CAL BAY DO GOOD WORK? WAS THE PROJECT ON TIME? WAS THE TOTAL COST REASONABLE? I have attached photos, so you can see the final product. My wife and are are very happy with the work and the Cal Bay crew's attention to our vision. The entire project took a little longer than we thought it would, but we did add quite a bit of work and with the unforeseen items, that were not small, it was pretty close to what should be expected. In fact, my wife said she really didn't feel it was as painfully long as some people had told us. Finally, the total cost was within our budget and what we expected to pay. To compare, I met with three other contractors and the final price for my whole project (Unforeseen changes and our add-ons included) was the same price I received from the highest quote for just the bathrooms and kitchen. My wife and I are really happy we chose Cal Bay and I plan on calling the crew back for our next project.
