2 things: 1- the entire local public neighborhood has now saturated this costco, and now this place sucks just as much as any other bay area costco. the public that comes here has officially made this place a crapshoot to shop at. people are on their phones more than wiling to shop. everyone leaves their cart everywhere, entitled shoppers are opening bags of product, eating products before purchasing, "sampling" fruit, and product theft is hilariously rampant. why is this here? because there isnt enough costco employeess to make sure that people shop without destroying their products. it took forever for me to find produce because bags were opened up and contaminated due to "hands". always fun. 2 - to the produce workers at this costco. dont give me crap for picking out bags of fruit because whatever idi*t that trashed it before i got to it was destroying the bags. your attitude and passive aggressive look is not appreciated. the attitude doesn't help and it's directed at the wrong individual. read more

Very convenient location at Newpark Mall and we came here on Friday afternoon to kill time for 2 hours. There is a gas station and huge parking lot so we got a good parking space away from the crowds but close by to the entrance. First we went to membership desk to get my membership added to their Costco app so I don't have to use a physical membership card so easy peasy next time I go to any Costco, I can just have it scanned on my phone! Inside the warehouse is spacious and clean and I found everything I was looking for and they even have self checkout with no limit on items. I haven't been inside Costco in years as I usually order delivery. This was a pleasant surprise with getting the app to scan in and self checkout is some nice pluses! read more

From time to time I like to give reviews on Costco products. Today we have a new Disneyland jacket . It comes in blue and green. The size is more on the large side . The smaller one is S/M , then L/XL . The jacket is thick materials and it may be too hot for the Disneyland in Los Angeles. Designs and colors are cute . The size is for tall and big people . The are bigger than the normal small and medium size in Jacket . Another new product is the crisp power protein pretzels, which has 15 g plant based protein , 6 g dietary fiber , 3 g total carb and zero sugar . It is the most healthy snacks I even seen . It taste delicious and min size . You can eat only a few each time . $ 9.89 for 13 oz bag . The last section is soups . Costco used to her chicken noodle and clam soup. Now they have many more selections and the flavor are delicious! For example , there are chicken tortillas soup , tomato basils soup , broccoli cheddar soup , etc . I love the lobster bisque, chicken with wild rice . Some new go are very bold to me : chicken coconut curry soup . I like the combo but it tastes a bit salty to me . Today I see the Italian sausage & vegetable soup ( Rustic Zuppa Toscana soup ) which is my favorite soup when I go to Italian restaurants. Great prices from $9.99 to $11.99 for two large containers. Newark Costco for my area is a godsend. They took one corner of a dead mall (Newpark Mall) and planted a massive modern Costco. So now that once dead space is now a lit up and busy corner. Even though the rest of the defunct mall space is still spiraling, at least this corner won't be going away anytime soon. Costco to me is a double edged sword. I do love their offerings of quality foods and merchandise at prices very few can beat. But in all that awesomeness, the popularity has exceeded critical mass. I now will not and cannot endure a trip on a weekend mid-day as the amount of people that go just makes it more aggravating than useful. Parking lots are a mess if not borderline dangerous, not just the drivers who are tunnel visioned in finding close parking but also the mindless pedestrians who walk too close to the backs of cars without much attention, sometimes even occupied with their devices. It's a clusterfu@% I proudly avoid. Also as a note to their parking situtation, this is the only Costco I've ever ran into that has a multilevel garage. You see there was this 2 level parking structure already here from the busy mall days of the past. They smartly postitioned this Costco to be right next to that parking structure. So on top of the conventional open parking that Costco is known for, they also have this option. And on a weekday, I can pull into this free parking garage, park in the shade just steps away from the front entrance. Straight up VIP privileges that I can't do at most other Costcos. Now this particular location has a major draw for me. This is a fairly new Costco like maybe barely 2 years old. So not only is everything modern and new from the self checkout registers to the shopping carts to the modern design to help execute flow. But there is an another Costco (much older) just less than 2 miles away which I strongly believe spreads out the crowds. Instead of 3 cities worth of citizens clamoring to just one store...cough, cough San Leandro cough cough. So if I venture here on a weekday say between 3-5pm, this place is practically empty in relation to how big it is. Walk up to a line, 1-2 people in front of me, aisles completely open to flow, zero back ups. Even the gasoline line is super minimal, always a pump to go to directly without a queue. It was even like this during Christmas season as long as I went on those days and hours. Absolutely impossible at any other Bay Area. Costco. And I know the thin crowds probably won't last as nothing good ever does. But to have this resource in the state that it is in for even 2 years straight just needs to be applauded. Just like the Auto Mall location, but more spacious and less crowded. Sometimes, they might offer limited-edition items during the holidays. The products are almost identical, but the samples served here are better. So crazy that people have to wait in line for the next batch of frozen entrees and ice cream to be served. I was like, "I got better things to do than to wait for the sample lady to finish cooking in 10 minutes." There's a nice Middle Eastern man who encourages me to have one more sample from him, but I'm not assigned to be a big back every time I see him lol. I wonder what happened to him this year. Anyways, the checkout process is easy since the crew members have a tablet to scan the membership card and items in the cart before the cashier rings up the total. However, I have a few incidents where a bag of oranges was scanned twice, but the cashier refunded the extra amount. Remember to verify the total number of items with the cashier before checkout. You can also add food court items before paying, so you can pick them up with the receipt rather than go to the kiosk and swipe your card again. The food court usually has one line open, but every time I wait, the line gets longer, and they have to open the next window. The crew can be slow sometimes when taking orders. If you order a whole pizza, it will be a 20-minute wait to be fresh out of the oven. As for the auto service, look for honking cars when walking on the sidewalk that is connected to the garage. The auto crew would repeatedly honk while driving in reverse so they could park next to the service workshop after they finished each car. The outdoor parking lot has tight spaces and curved exits and entrances. Sometimes, I hear drivers in a shouting match over blocking the way of a car backing out, yet there are lots of incoming vehicles, which will take a while to wait for their turn. I recommend parking far away from the auto center rather than fighting over spaces in front of the store. read more

They may not have the selection I'm used to in Hayward, but you can't argue that this isn't one of the most convenient locations. Parking first off, between the lot and the garage is more than adequate! The gas station is one of the quickest Costco's to get through. The tire shop has consistently been the easiest of any Bay Area location in our corridor to get an appointment. If I'm in the area this is definitely my go-to location! read more

Massively crowded Costco, despite it being one of the newer ones built to offset the heavy fisted crowds that go to the other ones. I'm gonna be real, I feel like the majority of the people parking near the NewPark mall are all for either the theater, gym, restaurants, or to this Costco specifically. Despite going in the mid morning, there were sadly no samples. Maybe it wasn't a day that they had them, but this would never be the case at the SoCal location I always frequent. I was excited to see they had the Jurassic Park pinball machine here, but it was sadly out of order. Other than that, they have a decent selection of clothing and other miscellaneous gifts as well as the common food items Costco is known for. However in comparison to others, this location was just alright in my opinion. read more

I shop at this location often because it's close by. I've learned that coming solo on a weekday late morning at any Costco is the sweet spot...way less traffic and much less stress. Occasionally, I'll drive a little farther out to Pacific Commons if I need a pack of Cornish hens, since the Newpark location doesn't carry them. I know not all Costco carries the same items. I really appreciate that the staff here are always on top of gathering shopping carts and keeping the parking lot organized, so this definitely doesn't go unnoticed. Inside the store, there seems to be enough registers open, and the self-checkout line moves surprisingly fast because the staff are very helpful and actually paying attention. I usually go to Costco in Fremont since it's closer to where I live, but I'm glad that they added the one in Newark couple years ago. It sits next to Newpark Mall and at least more people will visit in this site because the mall by itself doesn't attract much visitors. I've been observing what the construction is doing to later find out that they'll build a new Costco there. Honestly, it's too close to the Costco in Fremont, but this will offer more convenience for Newark residents. Just like any other Costco, you can get bulks of foods, clothes, and other products at a cheaper price compared to other stores. Keep in mind that a membership is required to make purchases there. My favorite part is the food court since their food is big, cheap, and delicious at the same time. During peak hours, there will be many people with carts there making navigating to other aisles challenging. It's like being stuck in rush hour but on foot. At least the warehouse is much bigger. This also makes parking challenging too. Overall, it's worth coming here if you need bulky items at cheaper prices. read more

It's fun to go with the kiddos. I get economical gas and good groceries. We had salmon from there recently. It was very nice. They have delicious desserts and produce. The food in the little food court area is cheap and tasty. We like to look at the TVs and test out the furniture. It's always an enjoyable trip for our little family. read more

One of the price for a pants I wanted, the price was wrong and should of taken a picture but just left it instead!! There were lots of them so hopefully people look at there receipt after buying it. First time visiting this costco and it has all the feels of costco but with overall less people. I stopped by afterwork on a weekday and was expecting a horde of people. I was wrong. This costco has plenty of parking, it even has its own parking garage, but i did not need to go there as there was multiple spots available in front. The location is right off the 880 freeway and its pretty convenient to stop by. Inside, i mostly was looking for the differences, i am mostly comparing to the Sunnyvale Costco. There is more seating for the food court area. Also i noticed that there was like 4 or 5 pickup windows at the food court windows, The layout is pretty nice and square with a small section on the top right of the store. It does not "zigzag" like the Sunnyvale costco location... The gas station is super big too i noticed, and no line of people waiting for gas either! I was in awe, as almost every costco gas during evening commute time has long lines. Overall this costco seems like a hidden gem, has all the good things about costco, just less people. I like this newer location, It's right next to the mall and there is plenty of parking. Came to buy 3 items. Left with a cart full of things (per usual) but worth it. I completely forgot to write this review. Came here with my Darling on 9/13/25 because I had my car serviced at Fremont Toyota and hers was at Fremont Lexus. I ran out of the watermelon slushy and needed more, go figure. We were walking around looking at whatever they had and came across some Ube cheesecake cups and were curious so we bought one, and it was surprisingly very good, just the right amount of Ube flavor and the cheesecake crumb at the bottom gave it some nice texture which tasted like an actual cheesecake. We also saw some custard panda buns which my Darling won't let me leave without getting it. We have yet to try this one because we're both busy working people lol. Will update this review when we try it. The water and windshield wipers are pretty much self explanatory. The salted butter roll cookies are really good, a little bit of sweetness with a tad bit of salt, I'll definitely get another box when we go back. The quail eggs aren't bad at all, but for some it may be an acquired taste. The stewed one has a very slight soy sauce kind of taste to it which isn't too bad. The salt baked one I was expecting it to be similar to a salted duck egg but it wasn't, it didn't taste anything close to it, more of a regular quail egg. Overall not a bad trip but I kinda hoped they would've brought back the biscoff honeycomb ice cream sandwiches. Also not pictured is some fruits and veggies that we got AFTER everything else because we got sidetracked lol. read more

I must declare if you are going somewhere from Santa Clara County, this Costco makes a good pit stop. I actually like it here because not only is there Costco gas but you got some great stuff to buy that you never actually find in Santa Clara County. The first time I came here I got some great snacks and they were all tasty. The second time I came here and got some great drinks. The third time was me just getting some essentials. Before this place many people who live in Fremont and Milpitas have to go to automation parkway. This location saves them the drive time. This is a pretty small scale Costco. Location wise, it is very convenient like Almaden Costco note: parking can be a bit finicky because the lot is a bit smaller than other Costcos. Although you do get a multistory parking lot that can also be used for the mall. read more

Parking is weird at this Costco but they do have a parking structure. They had a good selection on top of the Costco classics. They have a new system where an employee will scan your cart, scan all your items, and you pay at the register. They started it 2 months ago. read more

I went in for a quick pick up but like any other Costco it was well organized if anything more organized than others. I did like the fact that they were quicker than others and less packed. I also enjoyed the fact of multiple pickup windows at the food court. This just might be my new favorite Costco to come to when I'm out this way! read more

Has anyone else experienced this at the Costco pharmacy? For years they overcharged me the high insurance price on all my medications. For example, my 30-day supply of Olmesartan Medoxomil was $51.73 through insurance, but my membership cash price was only $12.79. When I asked to use the member price, the pharmacist tried to intimidate me, and literally told me to shop somewhere else. I went to the manager at the membership desk and he also told me I probably couldn't get the membership price. Only after I pushed back did they finally give me the correct price. Came to this Costco this weekend, and well, like you would expect on a weekend it was insane. Still, it was worth visiting at least once. The biggest drawback with this location is the parking. It's horrible. It's not a very large parking lot and space is tight, and I mean tight. Your best bet is to go to the parking complex right next to the place. The customers in this place were also more strange in that they felt a bit more rude? People constantly bumping into each other without saying excuse me. Still, it's a typical Costco, and they have a ton of great product. I'd advise going to the Automall one which is only two freeway exits away for a more "relaxing" experience. read more

Costco at Newpark Mall....One way to grab people's attention to go to the mall. It is funny that this Costco location is not far from Fremont or the old location that is a block away. The line to get gas isn't long. Four pumps instead of three compare to the other Costco location. I wonder how Newark was able to get a Costco and not affect the Fremont location. read more

It's Costco. Unless the shelves are empty and the food court has run out of chicken bakes and pizza, it's always 5 stars. The Newark one in particular always has a wide variety of goods from frozen and premade foods to great snacks and alcohol. read more

Short Story: A much needed Costco in the Fremont/Newark area! Long Story: I came here opening weekend last year and it was pretty awesome! So many things were new, shiny, and bright. To be clear...it was also during the day :) I would say this Costco is very similar to other ones in the Bay Area. Some noticeable differences between Newark and Fremont is parking! There's lots more space to park as it's located at the Newark Mall. In addition, there's more checkout lines. Their wine selection is also a bit more expansive. I also feel their pizza and rotisserie chicken tastes better! On the flip side their dairy/frozen section is smaller and their food court placement makes it feel as if the line is longer (but that's simply because of less space for people to line up). The Newark Costco is right off the 880 freeway and next to Newark Mall. The traffic entrance to this Costco is so much better than the one in Pacific Commons. There is a parking garage which is helpful during the rainy season. If you want to fill up with gas, the 32-pump gas station is away from the main entrance, so you are not backed up in traffic from cars entering and leaving Costco. The aisles seem wider in this Costco so less congestion in the front food and customer service area. This Costco seems more inviting, give them a try. read more

We waited for a little bit after the opening to visit Costco in Newark, specifically NewPark Mall as I knew it would be crazy packed at least from all the photos of the opening. We waited and we finally went. Although it's large and lovely and clean, the extra % in sales tax and the slight journey further out makes this Costco not our go-to but more of a once-in-awhile stop or more so, if there's something that only this Costco gets, then we'll drop by. L O C A T I O N For those who have lived here for a while, Costco is located in the old spot where JCPenney in NewPark Mall. Who knew a Costco would be here? You can park in the multi level lot of the parking outside. I N S I D E It's spacious. But for some reason also feels like it doesn't have a lot of what Fremont's Costco has. I'm not sure. Someone let me know if this one is larger or the same size at the Fremont location. I T E M S As it's a new Costco, I feel like they have some of the rare items that only closer corporate locations have. I know when opening, they had limited amounts of Vuori clothing. Costco recently opened a warehouse store in the underused area behind Macy's in NewPark Mall. This & the housing development nearby will revitalize New Park Mall. Costco's been packed since the opening. The parking lot fills up quickly. Unknown if the double tier parking lot nearby is available to Costco shoppers. Offerings are the same as nearby Costcos. The newark locale has more expensive electrical gears & high end eats like caviar. These items may not appear at nearby Costcos. One chooses desirable items and pays for at self-service stations or regular pay stations. Most items are in bulk, offering great $avings Some may question why a Costco so close to nearby stores is necessary. The naysayers don't see that a Costco here prevents a competitor to get a foothold. Costco always benefits by getting a good location at "distressed" rates. I only got necessities: chickpeas, iron supplements, croissant, organic hummus. Checked out quickly at self check-out station. read more

Great new Costco! I'm surprised they built one so close to existing locations, but I'm not complaining! Since I live within walking distance of the south Hayward location, I likely won't be coming here as my homebase, but it's always fascinating to see the different selection in other branches. I'm also pleased to see the great usage of space at NewPark Mall, and hopefully this will help revitalize the place. Despite the throngs of customers inside, lines at the checkout are not bad at all, and employees are helpful. Gas is also available, and during my visit on grand opening day, queues were quite sparse. Hopefully it stays that way! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I went to the food court to order food, got the receipt, and asked how long it would take. They said it would take 20 minutes. It was near closing time so I decided to use my time to shop a little and came back in less than 20 minutes. When I came back with the receipt, the worker told me that they do not have it and I should have TOLD THEM I was shopping. They said they are not making any more food. I was so appalled. If I would have known I was supposed to tell them, I obviously would have. I thought that since I ordered they would have it ready by the time I picked it up. I don't understand how it works.... Second day grand opening of Costco at this new location. This costco is a anchor store for the newpark mall. All the parking issues or lack of parking is associated with this new costco, another driver even threatened me with bodily harm for "stealing " his claimed parking spot, lol. Other being another costco, this location is terrible to place another costco. This store is rather small compared to other much more spacious costco warehouses. This was a nice experience but I would opt for another costco that's larger, has a larger selection of goods and have a bigger parking lot. read more

I love Costco, this location has a great gas station yet the merchandise in the store is horribly arranged, no rhyme or reason. Kids toys are often next to the alcohol and the pricing signs are often incorrect. This location also seems to be over staffed, many employees standing around talking to one another yet only 2 lines are open. Please do not mess up the stock by over staffing and becoming lazy with the merchandise. read more
