Very disappointing first-time experience. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Monday (4/20), and I arrived early at 8:45 a.m. I checked in and was told to have a seat and that I'd be seen shortly. By 9:05, then 9:15, I still hadn't been acknowledged--not even a simple "thank you for your patience." During that time, several other patients arrived, and at least three of them were called in before me, despite checking in after I did. At that point, it became frustrating. I value being on time, and it felt disrespectful to be overlooked while others who arrived later were seen first. I chose to leave before 9:30 a.m. due to the lack of communication and the way my appointment was handled. I did receive a call asking if I was still there, but by then the experience had already been frustrating enough to walk away. As someone who already has anxiety about dental visits, this made the situation even worse. I chose this office based on its reputation for being patient-focused, but that was not reflected in my experience at all. I chose this location based on positive reviews and their reputation for being patient and accommodating, especially for those with dental anxiety. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that at all. While this office is conveniently located near me, I'll likely consider a different location or another provider altogether. read more

My husband went in for a general cleaning and a check up on his molar. Dentist evaluated and said he was in need of a crown. She filed the molar and made the fitting and sent him home telling him the crown would be ready in two weeks. The temporary filling fell out twice because it was not made properly. Two weeks later, he goes back in for his crown, different dentist evaluates my husband and says the molar was not filed down enough and the crown does not fit so he has to go through the whole procedure again. Five sticks later with lidocaine he gets his molar filed down and he has to wait another two weeks because the first dentist did not do the job correctly. Now he ends up in an urgent care because the many sticks of lidocaine created an infection almost an abscess in his mouth. 10 days of antibiotics and constant pain meds AND we're still waiting for the crown. I normally go to their sister location (Bayshore) on Ximeno Ave; however, that office has been closed temporarily due to flooding dating back to December. I was scheduled to have my cleaning end of January and when I called to reschedule my appointment after several attempts with their texting service, I was told that this sister location is taking the Bayshore patients. I was pleased to discover that one of their hygienists that I did not care for (Mercedes) was not at this location, and I got a wonderful new (to Fuller) hygienist named Anastacia. One of the receptionists temporarily transferred to Fuller so it was nice seeing a familiar face. As for the cleaning, Anastacia was excellent, very communicative and not crass like Mercedes is (Mercedes knows her stuff but doesn't have a good bedside manner, so to speak). Anastacia is very knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel at ease. Also awesome to see my fave dentist Dr. Aguilar as well! The only downside is the location as it is located in "da hood". Be careful of your surroundings and park in their structure (they have a parking attendant upon entering). read more

Dr. Taran Reynolds is hands down, the best dentist I have ever been to in my life. She is truly an expert, honest, authentic and sincerely cares about the welfare of every single one of her patients. She's not out to sell you she's out give you the best results possible to work with your budget. She also offers great ways to finance whatever dental work that is needed. She's not the cheapest guy on the block, however the value, piece of mind and quality dental work that you will get from from Dr. Reynolds and her staff pays for itself over and over again. Her father, who was a highly respected, very gifted and much loved dentist in Southern California was her mentor. When he passed on both Dr. Reynolds and her brother took over the business and grew it exponentially carrying on their fathers old school values, expertise and exceptional talent in dentistry. Absolutely the worst dental experience I've ever had -- avoid Fuller Smiles Long Beach at all costs. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My fiancée and I scheduled 1-hour teeth whitening appointments for 4:00 PM on 3/12/25. Upon arrival, we were given x-rays and an evaluation, which we were told were required in order to proceed with whitening -- fine, we agreed to that. However, by the time they finished the preliminary steps, it was already close to 5:00 PM. That's when they informed us they could no longer accommodate the full hour of whitening because it was "too late." If that was the case, why schedule a 4 PM appointment for a service that takes an hour, knowing it couldn't be completed? Even worse -- while I was in the chair, I could overhear the staff in the hallway laughing about us, making remarks like, "there's no way we're doing the full hour." Incredibly unprofessional and humiliating. Instead of the full hour, we were given a rushed 30-minute whitening session. The "required" cleaning prior to whitening was also a joke. It lasted less than 10 minutes. The hygienist did nothing more than a basic brush and floss -- something I could do myself at home. It didn't feel like a professional cleaning at all. We voiced our dissatisfaction to the office manager that day, who assured us that neither of our insurance plans would be charged for the cleaning, and promised to follow up with confirmation. No follow-up ever came. We called the office multiple times and were repeatedly ignored. Eventually, we discovered that they had charged my insurance anyway -- directly contradicting their promise. When we followed up, the manager lied and claimed he thought the charge was only supposed to be removed for my fiancée, not me. Between the misleading scheduling, subpar care, disrespectful staff behavior, and blatant dishonesty around insurance, this was by far the most unprofessional dental office I've ever encountered. I would strongly advise anyone considering Fuller Smiles Long Beach to look elsewhere. This practice is disorganized, dismissive, and clearly more concerned with billing than patient care. read more

I deeply regret choosing this dental office for my care. From the beginning, the communication was poor, and the dentist never took the time to explain the procedures to me in a way I could understand. My first visit was tolerable--Dr. Chimba performed six cavity fillings, and although I have a small mouth, which makes dental work challenging, the experience wasn't too bad. I had come in with the intention of replacing all my old silver fillings with porcelain ones. However, my second visit was a nightmare. After my first visit, my bite was off, so Dr. Chima had to polish the fillings before starting on my left side which was understandable. From my third visit the pain from the injections was excruciating. Despite being numbed, I felt the third needle break into my gum, which was unbearable. The dental assistant pulled my left cheek so hard that it hurt, even through the numbness I can feel the overwhelming tugging of my cheek the drilling was rough, and I had to ask them to stop because I was choking on my own saliva, which seemed to annoy them. During a short break, Dr. Chima stepped out, and a different dentist, Dr. Pedro I Believe is his name , came in without introducing himself. He awkwardly told me he would be finishing my fillings, but didn't explain why Dr. Chima wouldn't be completing the work. The new dentist proceeded with the fillings, using a device that stretched my mouth so much it brought me to tears, but he didn't seem to notice. Once done even after explaining that my mouth was too numb to judge if my bite was right, he continued polishing my teeth. Did he floss or clean the mess after he was done absolutely not I got to my car and noticed so much grey stuff inside my mouth and even on my lip I never walked out the dentist office with silver residue in my mouth let alone on the exterior of my lips. On my drive home, as the numbness wore off, I realized my tongue was getting cut and scraped on the new fillings. I ate something a couple of hours later, and my mouth was incredibly sore--much worse than after the first visit. I'm genuinely concerned that my tooth might be cracked, as it's still aching, and something doesn't feel right. I never had pain on my bottom left side it hurts eating warm soft food it's been several days already I went in Wednesday 8/14/24 my right side didn't feel like that after 5 plus hours. It's been 4 days already my teeth are so sensitive to cold and hot I never had this problem before not on my left side at all or my right side the only thing that ached was my back tooth that needs a root canal they didn't touch it I'm not getting anything done here anymore they Ruined my teeth. To make matters worse, when I talked the front desk to set the appointment date and time for my wisdom tooth extraction, the front desk staff told me I needed bone grafting--something that has never been discussed with me before. It's baffling that this information was relayed by the receptionist instead of the dentist, and only after multiple visits am I being told this despite getting X-rays on my first visit which I did mention the wisdom tooth extraction since my goal was to have either braces or Invisalign. Not the front desk fault they were very helpful but this is important information I would have felt more comfortable talking with my dentist because I'm still confused as to why I need this procedure performed. They did their best to explain it but really should of been my dentist so he can answer my concerns. I'm extremely dissatisfied and feel like I've done more harm to my teeth by coming here. This experience has left me conflicted about returning for follow-up care--do I risk more pain and poor treatment, or do I find a new dentist and hope they can fix what was done here? I drove 40 minutes each way to this office, only to leave in worse condition than when I arrived. The doctors here seem more interested in getting through the procedures than in caring for their patients, dismissing questions with quick, unsatisfactory answers that should have been addressed before the work even started. Please, do yourself a favor and find a more professional, caring dental office that really is going to make you feel comfortable and cared for. I hope I don't offend anyone and their profession but this was literally the worse experience I had in a dental facility. read more

This dental office is committing predatory dental insurance malpractice. They attempted to bill me at an out of network rate despite having in network insurance. When I protested they told me that I was misunderstanding the paperwork. If I were less educated I would have easily been swindled by their lies. They ultimately agreed to "make an exception" and charge the in network rate they are contractually obligated to charge. I believe they are taking advantage of being in a low income community and I am appalled. They should be audited immediately. read more

My face was carelessly damaged with a chemical burn during my dental fillings Here by a short Hispanic decent male younger looking with dark hair and a soul patch I contacted management calmly and management ignored my concerns told me to wash it and don't pick at it. They offered zero accountability nor did anyone even reach out to me after they said they would when I called the first two times there refused to give me the name of the person who worked on me and said they will talk with him and I'll see the doctor from now on...... I let him know during the procedure my face burned and tried to wipe it off he ignored me I told the manager after she said my mouth was probably cracked/dry from being open too long and put Vaseline on it. My face has a clear chemical burn on it. It turned immediately red and was in immense pain and stinging all day from anything including air or water touching it. Review DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use Fuller Smiles for INVISALIGN treatment or for any routine dental work. Dr Arsh and Reynolds wanted took shortcuts on the Invisalign process to make a quick buck and did not have the knowledge to perform or oversee the treatment. I learned the hard way that you should ONLY get Invisalign by a licensed orthodontist who specializes in the movement of teeth. The dentists here have no clue about the process. This entire practice is a dental chop shop with numerous locations in SoCAL and are all about churning volume with little care for their patients . The Invisalign process requires strict oversight if done properly but Invisalign the company will license their product to ANY dentist that requests it and agrees to pay them. They do NO vetting or quality control whatsoever. Invisalign also does NOT stand behind their product and will only refer you back to the dentist that did the work if there's a problem. Here is some history on my experience. In 2021 I had an Invisalign consultation at Fuller Smiles where I was told that my teeth could be straightened with Invisalign. I was led to believe the treatment plan they recommended was the ONLY treatment plan available with Invisalign and the BEST for my issue. Oversight during the entire 6 month treatment plan was slipshod and non-existent. When I came to the end of the treatment and was given a final lifetime retainer, I realized it did not fit properly. I came in repeated times and told them but they insisted it was fine. I continued to wear them nightly even though I could tell the fit was not proper despite them telling me otherwise. Finally 6 months later when I came in for my routine dental check up and cleaning I was told by the hygienist she was concerned about a new mobility with my bottom front teeth. I had never had this issue before the Invisalign procedure so I immediately thought to myself I bet it was caused by the improper fit on my nightly retainers. Instead of Fuller Smiles admitting this, they suggested I see a periodontist to find the cause. I agreed to see the periodontist as I was still giving Fuller Smiles the benefit of the doubt. When he saw the ill fitting retainers he agreed that it caused the mobility. He then referred me to an orthodontist who specialized in Invisalign to investigate further. It was only at that orthodontist I learned that Fuller Smiles used the WRONG treatment plan for my case and that the retainer was not properly fitted. He also thought the retainer caused the mobility on my lower teeth. He could not believe I had even had Invisalign treatment since there was no apparent straightening. He was so appalled with the treatment I received at FS he wrote a letter on my behalf confirming this and their malpractice. After spending a year w treatment and follow up at FS not only were my teeth as crooked as when I started but now I had the new mobility issue and was out $5000. When I shared my findings and the orthodontists letter with Fuller Smiles they did NOTHING. I thought they would be willing to admit their mistakes and work with me on some on a reasonable solution but they didn't offer me a thing towards the problems they caused. I have since reported them to the Dental Board who agreed with me but said my complaint would only constitute simple negligence and they could not help me get reimbursement. Anyway lessons learned. Please save yourself time money and damage to your teeth and smile and DO NOT use Fuller Smiles read more

Everyone was transparent about cost, next steps and how to get everything I needed done as soon as possible.
