Very happy I was referred to start coming to this dental office - like many, this is not a place I look forward to coming to but the dentists and assistants here have made my experiences here really great. Dr. Singh is absolutely the best!! He remembered me from my last appointment which I appreciated. His bedside manner is great and he is always partaking in conversation to make you feel comfortable and in good care. He took out half my wisdom teeth last year (so quick and easy) and I just went in for the other 2. These teeth were a lot more difficult to remove but the Dr. and staff were comforting and always letting me know what was happening/walking me through the situation which eased my anxiety. They are super gentle and kind in moments that are stressful for most people & that's what I feel sets LBTDC apart from other offices. Special shout out to Ismael who helped calm me down after I got numbed and assisted the Dr. on both my extractions , the front desk staff who is kind and accommodating and Dr. Uppal who answered all my questions pre and post opp. Also: they play a movie of your choice for the surgery! So nice. Even though my eyes are closed 99% of the time, it's a really nice touch that makes you feel more at ease. If you're looking for a dental office, give this one a try. Woo boy... It's been a while since my original review. I guess an update is due? I still highly recommend coming here for all dental needs. Dr. Singh and Dr. Pronstroller are have become my favorite dentists in all my years of dental care hell. *Dr. Singh is my preferred out of the two (he feels more personable). Both dentists talk to you matter-of-factly about what is going on, you get to actually see what's going on with a cool lil camera and a screen in front of you. Pain is never an issue. You're asked how you're doing and checked on. Both have great bedside manner. I don't have issues with my dental work done, I don't feel like I'm being up-charged for anything at all. The staff are also kind to me (which is comforting). I will always say I feared the dentist before, but can be at ease here and mean it. During the pandemic, they're taking precautions seriously as well. So, if you're reading this and wondering if this could be your new dentist, give them a call. read more

I came in for a check up and pushed me and pushed me to get a full cleaning that I was certain my insurance was going to cover 100% for since I spoke to them prior to coming to this dental office. They came back and showed me the treatment that showed my insurance would not even cover 25% of the treatment. The total was about $400 and when I said I would prefer to wait until they submitted the treatment to my insurance to get my final deductive they said "okay but at least get some fillers, those will only be $25 per tooth". So I went ahead and proceed with that since they assured that would be the only fee I would pay for that service. Two months later they call to let me know my insurance would pay 75% for the cleaning but that they unfortunately did not charge me enough for my fillings so that I had an additional balance for that which they needed me to pay right away. When I asked them to show me the documents from my insurance and the treatment plan that I signed for they backed out and ended up saying that they did not needed me to pay after all. This is totally the definition of switch and bait. They first gave me a treatment plan for a much lower price and later on when all of the work is completed they want to charge me 3x what I originally paid for? Yeah I don't think this is how business is done. I do not recommend this place. read more

Had my mother taken here by medical transport because she is in a wheelchair. Booked an appointment weeks in advance and gave them her Humana information. Total said they called 'Humana' using her actual Humana number and 'Humana or whoever they called' said her insurance is HMO. I call Humana and the rep said that was blatantly wrong and Humana themselves called Total. I call back afterwards and the front desk acted like she couldn't be bothered to ask who Humana spoke to and just told me the same lie. I then ask to speak to someone specific and she asks me 'Why' to which I replied because that is who Humana said they faxed proof of the PPO plan. She then gets back on the phone to save face on the lie saying when they called before it was HMO. They just didn't want to accommodate my mother because she was in a wheelchair and they haven't called us back to confirm the fax (after I had the medical transport pick her up 30 minutes after she got there) so we're canceling our appointment and going to a better dentist. read more

They went above and beyond to make sure I felt at ease and comfortable during my visit since I was so anxious due to the pain I was in. Dr Pronstroller made me feel that she genuinely cared about me as a patient and that I was in good hands. Do NOT make the mistake I was about to make and that's go to Tijuana because it's "cheaper". This place has payment plans and they will work with you. They never tried selling me "unnecessary" stuff, I never felt pressured into making quick decisions, instead they provided me a detailed report on each of my options, cost and recovery time. LBTDC is a super provider in a convenient spot downtown. Dr. Pronstroller and team got entire gamut of issues done in my first trip. They are a very pleasant and cohesive unit who explain things in detail. Even emailed me later to see how I was feeling that evening. A couple weeks later I saw two small brown spots on teeth which looked like cavities they missed. If I would have written that in the email instead of saying "I think I have two cavities" like I did, I could have saved everyone time. They made an appointment, Dr. Singh this time sat me down, pulled my X-rays up, and calmly explained hypoplasia deficiencies in enamel that were probably there from birth. He even threw in the entire process of recognizing a cavity set forth by the ADA to keep dentists honest. The lesson was free of charge and not at all condescending, even though i basically accused them of screwing up and not being able to see blatant cavities. Dunning Krugered myself! read more

I chose this office based on my insurance and location and am SO disappointed with my decision to have anything done here. You walk in and the reception area is dark and filthy, little care has been done to decorate or clean the first impression of the office. The only reason this review is two (instead of one) stars is due to the friendliness of the front desk staff. It took about 40 min for me to get taken back for my appointment. Once I got taken back, they began taking x-rays. No explanation was given, they just shoved something in my mouth and told me to hold still. Throughout the process of taking a needed 15+ images, MULTIPLE views needed to be retaken "real quick" sometimes as many as 7 times for one image! The person taking the x-rays swapped out about four times- four different people tag teamed the process... again, no explanation when they would leave and a different person would show up. Finally the doctor came in and began talking to me about the X-ray findings and develop a plan. Often, I was not able to follow her train of thought and had to ask for clarification what she was even talking about. At one point during this conversation she removed her mask (I have no idea why, they are still required) for the duration of the consult. Next, I was left sitting in the chair, you guessed it, no explanation as to what I was waiting for, for approx 10 min. Then a different doctor whom I had never met told me he was going to be doing my cleaning. He was nice and did a good job, took before and after pics, and again left me unattended, this time he did explain to "stay here." Front desk came over to me in the chair and discussed insurance benefits and payment/ treatment plan for what I needed/ what was being recommended to have done The entire time in office took about 4 hours. read more

Dr. Pronstroller is friendly, honest and professional. I was recommended to her by my doctor about a year ago and I am beyond pleased with her work and guidance on what I need to do or not to do. I've had work done and my teeth cleaned. I love that they take before and after photos of your teeth when you go in for a cleaning. Brownie points for Jasmine; she is friendly and professional. My only problem is that they take the bill to you while you're still on the chair which is right before they work on you. I don't mind reviewing the bill but having to pull out your wallet while on the dental chair is uncommon and uncomfortable. read more

This was my 2nd visit to Long Beach Total Dental Care on Long Beach Blvd and 4th Street. First, they accept many dental plans. This was very important to me because I have employer covered insurance. I have had two cleanings and the staff is wonderful. They will work with your insurance company to make sure you are covered for the procedures. The dentist is very knowledgeable and helpful. First, I really don't enjoy going to the dentist, any dentist. Over the years, the experience has become worse because of increased sensitivity in my gums.
