My teacher was Ms. Asmi who is at the beautiful campus in Fullerton. I liked the fact that Ms. Asmi is fair with the students and is consistant in the rules of what she expects of each student so that everyone feels equal. Not only does she give individual attention to students but she also encourages a team effort. In my experience with Ms. Asmi everyone got along great! We had fun learning and we worked hard so that we were prepared to pass the State Board Test as well as service clients who came to the school in a professional manner. She goes through the book chapter by chapter and points out everything that could be asked on the State Board test so you can highlight it. (I knew all the answers for the written test at state board, except for 3!) Ms. Asmi is easy to follow when training the students on the different procedures and you feel confident and ready to be a qualified estitician when you graduate. I have had many facials from fancy spa's that cost $120.00 and I cannot tell the difference between their facial and the ones Ms. Asmi teaches! At the salon they use quality facial products from Dermalogica and Murrad which I recieved a certificate for knowing all the different facial techniques. To pass the Practical Test for State Board Ms. Asmi has posted up on YouTube 10 short videos demonstrating the different procedures that you will need to perform and how to do it. All I did was study these video's, take notes and I passed! You can find the videos on YouTube my searching for Ms Asmi, James Albert School. For the State Board Practical Test you will need to rent a kit. I rented mine from Farah's Smart Rental Kit in Irvine, CA. The kit was so well organized and I know that this played a big part in my passing the Practical Test. I did look at the other Kit Companies and it was so confusing. She was the same price as the other Kit Companies and gave me a free white jacket. 949.231.2628 - Ms. Asmi has her phone number! There are different fun contests that Ms. Asmi does using the different techniques we learn such as Makeup Contests. We had several guest speakers that came to the school on different subjects that was interesting. We also participated in the Anaheim Parade hat Ms. Asmi organized where James Albert (Yea! There is a REAL James Albert!) recieved an award from the President of the United States for his contribution to charity. The award is up at the Costa Mesa, CA Salon! James Albert himself actually does travel to the different schools to train the Cosmetology Students and I was able to sit in on a talk that he was giving to the students about attitude, goals and how to create a business. He is VERY charismatic, a wonderful artist and a savy business owner! Students are lucky to have him as a teacher. Many of his client are well known in the community as well as many celebrities hair and you can get your hair done at his Salon in Newport Beach. He also has his own line of James Albert product that are wonderful. Theres a reason why the school is called; "James Albert!" Nothing is perfect and if you are in a situation that you are unhappy about, I suggest you write a letter addressed to James Albert and mail it certified mail to the corportation in Corona, CA stating what is happening. James Albert has regular meetings with the teachers and is very swift in solving any issues and is very fair to everyone. When a esthetician student graduates from school, Ms. Asmi will let us throw a graduation party. At my graduation I had a "Princess Party" with paper tiara's, food, cake, boa, music, party games with prizes! She will let you invite your friends if you like and we had a blast! I always call in advance to schedule an appointment and the past two times they were fully booked, which I understand but this was my last straw today. I called again to make an appointment and she asked me what time do I want to come in and I said what time are available? I'm only 20 minutes away and she said ok then just walk in and someone will take care of you when you come in. I come in 20 minutes after that phone call and they say that they're fully booked for the whole day and that someone came in before me so first of all why would you even ask me what time I wanna get my facial done if there's no times available for that whole day except that one timeslot that the person who showed up five minutes before me got. Second of all why didn't you take my name down or finish the reservation like I called to do. I was speaking with the Director and expressed my frustrations because this was my third time I wanted to get a facial and she said that there's no one else who can do my facial and that she knows the exact amount of students that she has didn't apologize for anything and laughed when I walked out. So why when she answered the phone didn't she tell me that there was only one time slot and if I'm calling to make an appointment, why wouldn't you just reserve me for that one time slot if there's only one left in the whole day? Didn't like the vibe or energy from that interaction especially cause I've tried to book an appointment 2 other times earlier last week. What's unfortunate is that the students have always been great, I can't say the same for the leadership.

For the engagement photos, I felt like Karla was really engaged and made an effort to make me happy. I don't know if my wedding day was a bad day for her, but it felt a little rushed and off. My makeup was great for the wedding. It lasted all night, and it looked really subtle and natural. My only complaint would be the lip products she used. It was glossy and looked patchy when applied. I had to wipe it off and use my own lipstick. Also, my hairstyle didn't even last an hour after being done. I had to have my bridesmaids completely curl my hair again, which was stressful because it was time consuming. For the price charged, I felt like the hairstyle should've lasted longer than it did. I felt that whenever I showed Karla my hair inspirations on Pinterest, she more often than not told me how it wouldn't work on me, rather than try to help me achieve the hairstyle I wanted. It was a bit demotivating. Overall, I did like my makeup, but I had to make tweaks to really be happy. My hair had to be completely redone. I'm not sure I would be able to recommend this studio to others.

She didn't disappoint…read more I dont wear a lot of makeup daily so was a little skeptical about going to a professional because I've had some not so great experiences in the past ( makeup too overdone) but wanted to get my makeup done for my sisters wedding. Karla made me look and feel beautiful! My makeup was not over done.. not too much.. just perfect for me. She asks your thoughts about the application as she's doing it but also gives her professional insight. Will definitely be reaching out to Karla for future beautification. Thank you Karla!

Come to find out, my physical textbook didn't correspond to the online textbook. Paragraphs were missing in each chapter, or data statistics were not the same. The textbook was sold to me was published in 2022 and the online textbook was published in 2024. I scratch notes and make highlights physically into my book to help me study information l, hence why I purchased the textbook. When attempting to fill in information that was missing, it became ok much to do in each chapter. I informed my professor that I am getting chapter questions incorrect due to questions being asked that were not in my physical textbook. My professor's response was "...printed textbooks are published every 3 to 4 years. By the time it gets to print what was written is 9 months old before the actual publish date... Unfortunately, we cannot stop the world from changing." Is this something where I say "you're right Professor. What was I thinking?" Why do I spend money on outdated material? It appears that the material is sold at the Fullerton College bookstore because the professor approved it. I ask again, why do I have an outdated textbook that was sold to me by the school?

This is our first year with the school after coming from a different Montessori program (which we LOVED), and overall, we have had a positive experience at Minaret with recognition of some room for improvement. This will be a long review, but please do read through it if you are considering this program. Please remember transitioning to a new school is always difficult and takes at least a few months for children to fully settle in. The challenges they will face here are not unique to Minaret and will likely be faced anywhere (potential behavioral concerns, finding new friends, learning to find their voice in a classroom setting, etc). The beauty of Minaret's Montessori is that the current director is incredibly knowledgeable about child development and is always ready to work with parents regarding any of their concerns. Anyways, I'll break it down by pros/room for improvement as I've experienced them. I am happy to chat with anyone who may be considering this school and is looking for more information! Pros: The new director Ms. Mai is incredible and is clearly working so hard to improve this program. She is attentive to parents/students, sharp, kind, well spoken, and dedicated to the Montessori method. What I appreciate is she is always open to hearing our concerns. While she encourages parents to make their own observations of the program/teachers she is also candid about each classroom environment (example: different personality types, teaching method of the teacher, etc). We did face some growing pains at the beginning of the school year, coming from our previous school, however, we worked together with the teacher and Ms. Mai to address these issues. I do believe Ms. Mai has the students' interest at heart. The curriculum challenges students to learn academically, spiritually, and linguistically while giving them enough room to be themselves.The staff and PTO work hard to foster a sense of community for families attending by putting together events for the children and asking parents to be heavily involved. In terms of the physical learning space, the Montessori rooms are large and have all the engaging Montessori activities. Room for improvement: We really need a larger outdoor play area for our young children. Further, it would be nice to see some updates in the classrooms to help with cleanliness. Cleaner rugs/carpets or even removing carpet would be great, as would cleaning up the activity shelves from pen, marker, paint marks. I would love to also see us offer alternate childcare during winter break, spring break, etc for parents who are not as available to take so much time off. Additionally, I would love to see a monthly or quarterly open forum for parents to collectively meet with Ms. Mai as the director where she can share updates, hear parents concerns, etc. She does send out a monthly newsletter and this does a great job of updating parents. Overall, it is a good school. Your child will be well loved here, they will foster a sense of community, and they will definitely learn. Growing pains will require you as a parent to be engaged, discuss with teacher/director, and be open minded to change. Best of luck to you all in your decision making process!

They have clear communication on everything that's going on with the center (events, day to day activities, health checks, center closures) and you're given notice well in advance. Payment, check in/out, and communication are all done through Brightwheel (an app) and it's such a smooth process. Even though it's a bit modern, my in-laws (that are a bit older and have a harder time with technology) are still able use the app to pick up my daughter and enjoy the occasional pictures and videos that are sent through there. My daughter doesn't really take to strangers well. She did have an adjustment period but has soon blossomed in the infant classroom and loves her teachers. The teachers are caring and informative and we are so pleased with the kind of care they provide our daughter. And we know she's not the easiest baby. They have been able to help our child make huge progress with nap time and even with playing with other kids. I truly feel her personality has blossomed due to the work the infant room teachers put into our daughter. She always comes home happy from the day. The infant room itself (as well as the other rooms we toured in the facility) are also clean and does not have a smell. We toured other facilities where the smell was so strong it stayed with me the rest of the day and was actually one of the deciding factors in choosing CCs. My daughter also has an egg and milk allergy. They assigned high chair specifically for her and are always on the look out for any reactions from food. She recently outgrew her milk allergy but not the egg. During the recent mother's day Muffins with Mom's event, they provided a special vegan muffin for her so she can enjoy the event with me. The teacher running the event wasn't my daughter's regular teacher, but she recognized my daughter anyway and knew to offer me the vegan muffin. I was so touched by this gesture. We haven't had experience with the older classrooms, but have toured them and are rest assured my daughter will grow up well cared for and well educated here at CCs. We are excited for her to learn and grow here. We are so pleased with our experience that we've already reserved our spot for our next baby due in a few months. We highly recommend this daycare center and will recommend it to anyone look for care in the area.

It's by far the warmest pool we could find, and it's the only place where my son happily stays in the water without shivering. Our regular instructor is Mr. Nori, and he has been wonderful with my son. He's patient, encouraging, and fantastic with all of the kids I've seen in his classes. We recently missed a couple of lessons and had to attend makeup classes. For whatever reason, my son suddenly decided he didn't want to go back for his lesson. Miss Kaylee stepped in and was incredible. She tried everything she could to gently encourage him to go to the back pool, but when it became clear he wasn't going to do it, she didn't give up. Instead, she offered to work with him one-on-one in the front pool where we already were. She even promised she wouldn't put his head under the water. In the end, he became comfortable enough that he chose to put his face in the water on his own with her guidance, but she honored her promise and never forced him. That meant so much to me. I don't know if she was on her lunch break, between classes, or supposed to be doing something else, but I know that impromptu private lesson wasn't part of her day. She took the time simply because she cared, and it completely turned the experience around for my son. The best part is that it worked. Today my son happily got back in the water with Mr. Nori, and I honestly think it was his best lesson yet. Mr. Nori was so sweet, so encouraging, and genuinely proud of him. Seeing his confidence come back was such a great moment as a parent, and I really credit both instructors for making that happen. Every single person we've interacted with has been kind, welcoming, patient, and genuinely wonderful with kids. I honestly have not had a single negative experience here. The first class is free, the warm water makes such a difference, and the little splash pad was a huge part of getting my son's initial buy-in. From the instructors to the front desk staff, the entire team is amazing. If you're looking for swim lessons for your child, I highly recommend Australian Swim School!

We've been going to this school since they were in Fullerton, and they've always been great. My daughter started with Mr Nori and he's one of her favorite instructors. She's gone through a few instructors and we've never had a bad experience. My son now attends the school too. This morning, my daughter had a make up class and had to go into a different swim lane with a new teacher. She's been apprehensive about leaving her current school and starting kinder next year, and the emotions came out today. She started crying and holding onto me when she saw the new lane and instructor and said she doesn't want new things. Within seconds, Mr Scott came over and began comforting her asking if she'd like to see her other instructor Mayumi. Mayumi wasn't even dressed to go in the water, but rolled up her jeans and sat in another lane with her. Mr Nori came by to say hi and comfort her, and Mr Christopher gave her a private lesson for a few minutes while she adjusted. He eventually asked her if she wanted to join him in the new lane with the new instructor, and she said yes and was happy the rest of the time. Mayumi also came back to check on her. This is the level of care any parent looks for in a school and I highly recommend coming here.

The competitions are difficult to judge when it comes to cutting, coloring, and unique styling/design applications the talent is amazing. I have had a few F & BF before, but this one was spectacular. Terri Borough did a wonderful job. She is warm, friendly and knows what she is doing. She explained to me beforehand what she would be doing and in what order. I find it helpful to know what is going on. Her touch and technique were superb. My teacher was Ms. Asmi who is at the beautiful campus in Fullerton. I liked the fact that Ms. Asmi is fair with the students and is consistant in the rules of what she expects of each student so that everyone feels equal. Not only does she give individual attention to students but she also encourages a team effort. In my experience with Ms. Asmi everyone got along great! We had fun learning and we worked hard so that we were prepared to pass the State Board Test as well as service clients who came to the school in a professional manner. She goes through the book chapter by chapter and points out everything that could be asked on the State Board test so you can highlight it. (I knew all the answers for the written test at state board, except for 3!) Ms. Asmi is easy to follow when training the students on the different procedures and you feel confident and ready to be a qualified estitician when you graduate. I have had many facials from fancy spa's that cost $120.00 and I cannot tell the difference between their facial and the ones Ms. Asmi teaches! At the salon they use quality facial products from Dermalogica and Murrad which I recieved a certificate for knowing all the different facial techniques. To pass the Practical Test for State Board Ms. Asmi has posted up on YouTube 10 short videos demonstrating the different procedures that you will need to perform and how to do it. All I did was study these video's, take notes and I passed! You can find the videos on YouTube my searching for Ms Asmi, James Albert School. For the State Board Practical Test you will need to rent a kit. I rented mine from Farah's Smart Rental Kit in Irvine, CA. The kit was so well organized and I know that this played a big part in my passing the Practical Test. I did look at the other Kit Companies and it was so confusing. She was the same price as the other Kit Companies and gave me a free white jacket. 949.231.2628 - Ms. Asmi has her phone number! There are different fun contests that Ms. Asmi does using the different techniques we learn such as Makeup Contests. We had several guest speakers that came to the school on different subjects that was interesting. We also participated in the Anaheim Parade hat Ms. Asmi organized where James Albert (Yea! There is a REAL James Albert!) recieved an award from the President of the United States for his contribution to charity. The award is up at the Costa Mesa, CA Salon! James Albert himself actually does travel to the different schools to train the Cosmetology Students and I was able to sit in on a talk that he was giving to the students about attitude, goals and how to create a business. He is VERY charismatic, a wonderful artist and a savy business owner! Students are lucky to have him as a teacher. Many of his client are well known in the community as well as many celebrities hair and you can get your hair done at his Salon in Newport Beach. He also has his own line of James Albert product that are wonderful. Theres a reason why the school is called; "James Albert!" Nothing is perfect and if you are in a situation that you are unhappy about, I suggest you write a letter addressed to James Albert and mail it certified mail to the corportation in Corona, CA stating what is happening. James Albert has regular meetings with the teachers and is very swift in solving any issues and is very fair to everyone. When a esthetician student graduates from school, Ms. Asmi will let us throw a graduation party. At my graduation I had a "Princess Party" with paper tiara's, food, cake, boa, music, party games with prizes! She will let you invite your friends if you like and we had a blast! My makeup was great for the wedding. It lasted all night, and it looked really subtle and natural. My only complaint would be the lip products she used. It was glossy and looked patchy when applied. I had to wipe it off and use my own lipstick. Also, my hairstyle didn't even last an hour after being done. I had to have my bridesmaids completely curl my hair again, which was stressful because it was time consuming. For the price charged, I felt like the hairstyle should've lasted longer than it did. I felt that whenever I showed Karla my hair inspirations on Pinterest, she more often than not told me how it wouldn't work on me, rather than try to help me achieve the hairstyle I wanted. It was a bit demotivating. Overall, I did like my makeup, but I had to make tweaks to really be happy. My hair had to be completely redone. I'm not sure I would be able to recommend this studio to others.

Once I was in, getting help was almost impossible. You have to chase people for assistance, and even then, nothing really gets resolved. There is only one instructor in the evening, and he clearly shows favoritism. I did not feel supported or treated fairly in class. The supplies they sell are very low quality--comparable to cheap online products. For the prices they charge, I expected much better. On top of that, the school is not clean. The classrooms and restrooms are consistently dirty, and it doesn't seem like they maintain the place properly. If you're serious about learning and building a career, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

I remember last year when I was searching through the internet looking for a great school to learn cosmetology and when I tell you I researched every school and read every single review from the top academies ,to the universities and the adult education centers, let me tell you, I did my homework and am so grateful I did because I truly chose the BEST SCHOOL EVER! Mrs. Yanez, Mr. Natividad, Mrs. Carrillo, and Mrs. Utasi showed me the world of cosmetology with such passion ,extensive knowledge ,and such a dedication to teaching their students and making sure we truly understood each subject matter and had fun along the way. They made each subject enjoyable with their sense of humor as well as providing us with so many incredible demos not only from them, but from world class artists including Dennis Gebhart, Jose Miguel, and so much more.
