Damn, I gotta say for me, 2025 was a great year for concerts. Twenty shows all told, at venues ranging geographically over six thousand miles from Southern and Northern California, to Las Vegas, to Tulsa, Oklahoma and Munich, Germany. It truly was a great year. If you would've asked me on June 1 what was my favorite of the 2025 shows I'd seen I would have said the two Dead & Company concerts I saw at the Las Vegas Sphere. Absolutely incredible shows. But then in October I travelled to Tulsa to see some shows at Cain's Ballroom. I visit Oklahoma every year and I always make it a point to see a show or two at Cain's. This year at Cain's I saw two artists I had never heard of before. The headliner for the two shows I saw was Josh Meloy. He was good, and had a fantastic band behind him. But it was the band opening the show for Josh on the first night that blew me away: Kenny Feidler and the Cowboy Killers. I don't remember the last time I saw a band that I immediately fell in love with so completely. I walked out of that show a changed person. Kenny is a prolific songwriter. He's a former rodeo star and many of his songs reflect that experience. Most commonly Kenny's music is classified as Alt-Country, but I don't actually know what that means. What I do know, though, is rock and roll. And Kenny's band, The Cowboy Killers are a kick ass rock and roll band. First thing I did after seeing him at Cain's was go online to check out Kenny's tour schedule. I was so happy to discover he would be playing some shows in California in December. I had to choose between Costa Mesa and Fresno. Costa Mesa would've been closer but after I checked out the Yelp page for Fulton 55, I instantly knew this would be the place to see a show. And I was right. The venue is a great place to see live music. Security at the door was cool. Inside, the sound was clear and loud, the crowd was chill, and it didn't take forever to get a drink at the bar. Brady Stovall opened the show and I enjoyed his set. I liked how his drummer just used the Cowboy Killer's drummer's kit, so it didn't take long between bands. Kenny Feidler and the boys played a 17 song, 90 minute set that included a blistering, nearly six minute version, of the song Cowboy Killers. Happily, a lot of the songs performed were from Kenny's most recent (2025) release, The Western Tragedy, including Idaho Hippies and The Bronc Fighter. After the show I got the chance to meet Kenny and get a photo. What a great guy! This wasn't the first time Kenny has played a show at 55 Fulton, and inshallah it won't be the last. Lots of seating with tables both upstairs & downstairs and a great view of the stage where ever you are. read more

Fulton 55 - Music Venues Near Me - Fresno, California

Saw Laidback Luke here, huge fan of the guy as a producer / DJ, not necessarily my main flavor of genre but it's not every day that you have an artist who headlined Tomorrowland come through Fresno. Honestly couldn't believe the affordable ticket price, very reasonable compared to what I'd pay in Los Angeles. Other than Luke performing in what looked like pjs on the bottom half (hey, he is laidback) I had a fun time and he played some throwbacks as well. The crowd was very chill, I liked the venue lighting set up, also great to see them invest in some VJs for someone as big as Luke unless he brings them with him. It could have been synced up better sure but since Luke doesn't have set lists it's expected. The lasers were the main event here, I'd be careful pointing your camera around. I was a bit on the older side with median age probably 23 for girls and 28 for guys. In comparison to what I'm used to this venue was a little rough. Not that it was bad, just more casual and not at all fratty or yuppie. Definitely not hipster on the night I went. Cheap drink prices and attentive bartenders, some security at the door which I appreciate... definitely could see it being an issue in this area. It'd be a good place for an underground punk or emo band, maybe a country line dance if the Fresno crowd is into that. Was much smaller than I expected based on photos, luckily this meant I had a good view of Luke as this crowd was not particularly tall either. Parking on the street was fine, I did park next to some sleeping homeless people, not much else around and it's kinda dark so I'd keep awareness when heading back to your car. read more

Fulton 55 is a great venue for music events. They occasionally host EDM DJs, and my favorites are when they bring in House Music DJs. The venue is two stories, offering plenty of seating and standing areas, with bars on both floors. One of the events I attended had limited VIP tickets, allowing you to dance and drink on the stage behind and around the DJ. The crowd varies depending on the type of event, but most people have been pretty easy-going. There aren't many venues like this around, so I'd recommend giving it a try if you see an artist you like playing here. Drinks are expensive, but that's to be expected. read more

Fulton 55 is still a great place to see a show. Drinks were good, happy to see local General Sherman on tap, ticketing was smooth. It's been a few years since we came to an event where they had the second floor open. The first floor isn't that big so they aren't able to put more than 16 or so 4-top tables. Made the trek from the Bay Area for the Tony MacAlpine/Vinnie Moore/Soul Sign show a few weeks back. A few things... The sound in this venue stinks. The two openers had a decent mix. The Tony/Vinnie/Soul Sign, the mix was abysmal at best! The vocals were inaudible for most of the set, the guitars were too low and hard to hear throughout, and Tony's keyboards were low, too. Essentially it was a drums/bass mix with little of everything else. Also, the show was billed as Vinnie Moore & Tony MacAlpine as a co-headline with Soul Sign opening. That was totally false. Soul Sign was essentially the backing band for the night, playing some of their own material with Vinnie and Tony joining for a handful of their songs individually. Soul Sign played some more songs as a full band and then they all jammed out a couple of UFO covers. It was essentially a big jam. read more

I went in around 930 pm.. guess there was bands playing and ending at 10pm.. I nearly died when they said I still had to pay a 30.00 cover Charge for 30 min of live music..WTH!!! Ill never go there again.. I mean I ordered 2 drink..15.00 a pop..anyway..last time.. seems they are desperate for cash.. the cover is ridiculous. read more

So I've been here for a while now and unfortunately a pandemic happened. So I've only been here 3 times in 2 n a half years. Once as static X reunion tour. Full night all good. Now it gets interesting. Was here a few months ago for a local show. The upstairs was shut down and the place was probably to capacity of 25 people at best. Then the other night as Bias was playing with LA band Society 1. All the bands were good. The upstairs was open. For me a first. It was art the booking agent 10 year anniversary. So it's interesting that I constantly hear how great "it used to be". I totally get that the pandemic is still lingering. However one would think after 2 and a half years of purgatory really that everyone would be itching to go out see some live shows. Plus a 10 year annual event should bring in its own group of people. Whelp. Not the case tonight. There is something very wrong here and I can't blame anyone really because I've no facts to back it up. But when there are a handful of bands playing you would think that it would be at the least full. This place was a ghost bar. Each band brought a handful of people. But rather than piggybacking. A term used when one artist uses the audience of another to gain exposure to their music and show. It was very segregated. One band plays. A group of people watched. They leave. A couple of the bands left after and some stayed. Good to see at least that much. However either the days of promotion or advertising and filling a room appears to be over.?. Could it have been the bands? The night was Saturday. So maybe it was promotional issues. If I didn't know one of the bands. I never would have been aware anything was going on there. I did see a post on Facebook. Now maybe I'm just delusional or old school but. I still believe in posters and billboards and Flyers. Something physical to me is more personal than scrolling through the 100,000 posts from every band promoter artist musicians and their friends and my friends and your friends and every friend of theirs. Folks i check FB a few times a day out of boredom but it's rare that I see a bunch of bands I've never heard of and think. Hum I really want to see them. Even though it's easier than ever to find whomever is listed. That's just me. I listen to a ton of music. New and old. Usually streaming. And if Spotify or apple whoever you use shows that an event is coming to town it might peak my interest. But what about locals? Do you support live music? I've been to a lot of venues in town. Rare occasions you might see a good twenty spot for an audience. I've yet to see ANYTHING packed yet, in nearly 3 years. In LA on any given night. You will always find something to do. Or a band or a DJ or a theme Eg "bar sinister". That's once a week at a venue and it's always full. Point is if you are a going out type. When I was in college every night was going out night. That was UCSB Or CUSF. It seems this city shuts down at 10. Or earlier.. what is it? Bad bands? Depression? Financial issues? Is it venue's? A combo. Maybe this is a wrong place for this question but why are all the events in Fresno basically meh to empty? Anyone? If it USED to be so great then why aren't y'all coming back? This place is great. Decent prices cool staff decent lighting. Sound was nice for my taste a bit to low end no mids or high's. But good. The bands all had each other backs but it seemed like no body came to this event that didn't know someone playing. That's sad. read more

Establishment is not acknowledge if the venue is 21 or older. Drove two hours for an event just be turned away. The doorman was actually high on a substance and cannot tell if we were 21 older and had to get some help with the math of determining if we were 21 or older. Venue smelled as well. read more

Fulton 55 is my favorite venue in Fresno for live music. The layout of the building is the biggest draw. It has a decent sized stage and ground floor and the sound system knocks. There is also a second floor area with a second bar that they open up when it gets really crowded. The lower bar can get crowded at times but it moves quick and people in line are usually sociable. Bartenders are always on point too. I love Hip-Hop and they usually bring in 15-20 acts a year. Can't say how many times I've been here..too many to count. Seen Ghostface, Murs, the Liks, Cali Agents, Hiero, Nickatina, Casual, Spice 1, Ras Kass, KRS, Pharoah Monch, Phonte, Blu, Devin the Dude, mobb deep, Planet Asia, and several other sets that escape me at the moment. Each time I've had a good time with no complaints. There are usually some local opening acts that I am familiar with so even if you get to a show early you won't have to compulsively drink to stay entertained while you wait for the headliner. I stay updated with their upcoming shows by subscribing to their email chain and following them on facebook. Just saw Slick Rick and Aceyalone are coming next month. Bonus! Oh,and make sure and get your presale tickets online if you are planning to attend a popular show. I've almost missed out on a couple. Anyway, if you haven't checked this place out yet, I would highly recommend it. read more

Great venue but the air conditioning needs to be updated. The large fans that are being used are not enough to cool the place down especially with lots of people in there. Security was great as well as the bar tenders. Bathrooms could be cleaned often too. read more

I'm a bit puzzled that Fresno does not have avid Yelpers. I'm so glad I'm moving to Fresno because it's pretty much an undiscovered oasis. So I was visiting the area looking for apartments and I................................. Update: I started writing this review 2 weeks ago but never finished but since then I've become a regular at the Fulton and I can honestly recommend it to everyone because it's a happening place. It's nice to have a venue that has something going on almost every single night i.e comedy, karaoke, and rock bands and even spanish rock shows. The Fulton is top notch with it's security, sound and customer service. I highly recommend it and if you see me around say hello I'm there like almost every other night. I lived in Fresno all my life and sadly, I have never been to Fulton 55 until a friends birthday came along. She lived near by so she recommended we walk there and that is how I ended up here! A group named Pinch and Basura played old school music, in English and Spanish. It was interesting to listen to the diversity and enthusiasm the group had. The place was like a hidden little treasure in downtown Fresno. It was low key, casual, free lancer type of place. I am used to Banda and Corridos and this was totally different for me. They had prince music, cumbias, Spanish rock and more! I loved it! it was nice hearing the various genres of music. Also the people were friendly and honestly did not care who was watching, at one point they had a mini mosh pit of fun and not violent at all. I would like to attend again, but I'm curious if the genre change with who ever may be preforming. That day they also had a bike appriciation fund raiser and upstairs was filled with show bikes too see. Also they give free water and the securities look intimidating but were more than friendly . This venue has a cool vibe to it. This was my first visit there, even though it's a pretty popular spot. It definitely has it's pros and cons. I'll list a few for you: Pros: has a loft area for additional standing/viewing areas, has clean and chic bathrooms, bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, has security posted at the door, great sound tech, overall good vibe. Cons: inside it is hot. as. hell., not enough seating options/standing area gets things really crowded trying to move to the bar and the bathrooms, viewing ability upstairs is pretty limited, if you order anything other than beer specials or well drinks it's extremely over-priced (p.s. $15 minimum for card/tab purchases), parking is hard to come by - leaving the only choices in the shady (p.c. term) surrounding neighborhoods, lots of mota smoking outside. Maybe it's just not my scene... Even though it's a nice venue, I didn't feel comfortable at all while there. And unless it's a show I really want to see, I doubt I'll be making a strong effort to return. read more

Waste of time and money, the guy at the door wouldn't even take a second to figure it out just pushed us to the side. Seemed every other person was having issues with there tickets. Stopped by last night to see the band Diego's Umbrella. $6 cover @door. Music looked pretty cool and I wasn't disappointed. They were a super band with a quick gypsy/electric beat using lots of percussion. They didn't start till 9:45 and I was getting bored waiting by myself. Decided to move to the bar and from then on everything was cherry. I was thoroughly entertained by my bar mates and they accepted me wholeheartedly. Real nice venue and only the downstairs was being used at the time. Bartenders are real friendly and danced and drank away with us all night. Crowd was 20's-30's and everyone seemed to have a great time. They had drink specials and even added a dirty umbrella after Kevin suggested it (which I thought was neat). Really enjoyed the crowd so I'll be back many more times. This is the Cellar Door of Fresno w/liquor. Now I don't need to make that drive. read more

Went down to visit my dad last summer and saw FISHBONE there. They've got nice upstairs for seated area and the floor is open for getting red hot! I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see their favorite band or artist. My only complaint was they had no coffee and didn't have half and half for a white Russian. read more

I was very impressed with this venue. You can enjoy a show from upstairs as well as downstairs. There are bars both upstairs and downstairs which makes it so easy to get a drink without having to wait too long. As a guy who is part of the "Notown" (Fresno's Monthly Motown) circuit, I am grateful this place took our scene in and continued this Fresno tradition after "Audies Olympic" closed. The staff here has been welcoming, the crowd and scene slowly growing. The venue is safe, hip, and fun. This place is known for weekend venues... and all with a more than decent cover charge, that and the $14 dollar martinis you would think someone could afford to fix the air conditioner? Nope. This place would be fine as a dance club, but it's terrible as a live music venue. The sound is consistently bad, and lighting is outdated. If this were just a venue for local bands, I could understand, but this place tries to book smaller national acts somewhat regularly. The bar set up seems like an afterthought. The lower bar is located between the front door, hallway to the upstairs and restrooms, and a wall. Traffic jams are inevitable and getting a drink is quite a chore. The upstairs bar has slightly better access, but you can't even see the stage. In fact, you can't see the stage from most of the upper level. Again, this would be fine if it were a dance club, not someplace where you're paying good money so SEE a band. read more

This is a cool spot, but it definitely needs to get its shit together. Came here on Wednesday to watch Ghostface perform and for the most part I enjoyed myself until people on the second floor started dropping beer bottles onto the bottom floor. I almost got hit twice. The first time a bottle fell I went over to the DJ to notify him of the incident and that there was broken glass on the floor, he let me know he would have someone clean it up and check upstairs for people acting up. As soon as I returned to my area, another one fell and grazed me. The got the people downstairs extremely pissed off and they started shouting and starting a ruckus so by that time the DJ made an announcement to have security check upstairs for people fucking around and for any bottles on the floor that may possibly slip through the barricade. No one came to clean up the TWO broken bottles and the drunk fucks upstairs kept spilling drinks onto the bottom. Something really needs to be done about this. Definitely ruined my experience. Only plus side is that the drinks were cheap, however, I think this is why people were getting sloppy. Sigh. Maybe they should get rid of the bottles and just pour the beer into cups? That way they can at least prevent beer bottles from breaking on peoples fucking heads. read more
