There's plenty of parking. There's even parking for compact cars. When I went, I was in and out in around 30 minutes. It's usually not crowded and I didn't have to wait that long at all. There's a machine when you get in that you want to use to get a ticket printed and assigned. It's a quick process to get that. The ticket has a number and that's the number that will be prompted for you when it's time to go up to an employee window. The facility is also clean. read more

Received EXCELLENT customer service today from Magaline Hollingsworth at the Maxwell Road office in Alpharetta. We arrived around 4, knowing that they closed at 430 and hoping we would get the registration on our new car completed before they closed. Magaline was super helpful and resolved our renewal in less than 15 minutes. I asked her for a survey to complete and she gave me one and I would have to say for all 5 of the questions I would give her a 5 or higher if you had that option. Went here with my elderly mom who just moved to GA and needed her tag/registration done. There was a complication with her prior state's database and the rep at Window 7 was not explaining anything well. When I asked a question to better understand, she just said, "I'm not talking with you. I'm talking with your mother and not dealing with you." EXCUSE ME??? How utterly rude. I was there to help with my mom's anxiety and she does not understand any kind of tech explanation. I asked if we could speak to a manager, and that's when things worsened. The manager, a black woman in her 50s or 60s, shuffled out of a cubicle with a scowl on her face, as if we had interrupted her watching something stupid like The Kardashians. She came over. She did not introduce herself. She did not ask about the problem. She just sat her *ample* butt down and glared at us. I explained the situation and she went off on her power trip. AVOID THIS PLACE. They have no concept of professionalism, how to treat the elderly, or how to talk to customers. When we left the bldg, my mom said, "wow, those women were horrible to us. Do they treat everyone new to GA like that?" Wise question. Perhaps this place needs to be shut down or at least fire the idiots and replace with decent workers. read more

I understand once, because my insurance wasn't showing up in the data base, so I had to bring back a copy of my insurance binder, but the other 2 were totally arbitrary. As pleasant as going to the DMV can be... I stopped by to get registered in Georgia right when the tag office opened at 8 AM on a Monday. There was no line, and I walked right in, took a ticket, and was seen right away. The staff are not super friendly, but the service was quick and painless, hence the five stars. The building is nice and new, and there is a decent amount of parking. The wait times here are long. I checked in at the window, and I was given a number. I had to wait over 60 minutes for them to call my number. Once I was finally called, the employee was helpful but not overly friendly. I'm glad that I don't have to interact with this office on a regular basis. read more

Nobody likes going to the DMV. In spite of this general adage, I've had mostly positive experiences at various offices that I've visited. Unfortunately, the Fulton County Tag Office really screwed around with me recently. I live in... I suppose an ambiguous area of town that could belong to Fulton or Gwinnett County. Unfortunately, the USPS address verification system mistakenly attributes my address to Gwinnett County. I stopped by this Fulton branch for new tags and they sent me to Gwinnett as a result. Gwinnett proceeded to send me back to Fulton. The worker at the Gwinnett DMV location did the responsible thing and looked up which county collects my property taxes. I proceed to return to Fulton and had a lot more hoops to jump through and waiting before I finally got what I needed. Factoring in the unnecessary drive time, something that should take at most 1 hour took me 4 hours over separate days. read more

Nobody enjoys visiting a government office, and DMV-related trips are never on anybody's list of preferred outings (with the exception of getting your first driver's license, perhaps). With that in mind, this tag office does a pretty good job of getting you in and out! We've had to twice visit after moving into Georgia: First to get our licenses, and second to transfer our tags. Both visits were during the Covid-19 pandemic, which made both even more potentially stressful and anxiety inducing. Nonetheless, both visits were relatively smooth, friendly and efficient...as well as safe, which is the most important thing. read more

Updated review: Art Ferdinand and his cronies are a total FRAUD! I finally received my original property tax check that was given to the officer at this office on the due date and was returned to me postmarked on October 28, thirteen days later! Later his telephone attendant told me that when the office gets around to processing my payment, the late charge would be removed, as my check dated October 15 was given to this office for payment on the due date. Not so, the interest charge remains. Someday Art should learn that honesty is still the best policy. Don't expect any respect for taxpayers here either. Original review: Did you know that Art Ferdinand and his drones cannot process your property tax payment for over one week after you made an on-time payment at this facility? I was concerned when my payment was never debited from my checking account. Calling 404-613-6100 has no live humans during business hours, only robots. Instead, my online account indicates that Art has already assessed $40 interest for my alleged "nonpayment" that was made on the due date. In my opinion, Art runs a sleazy operations called "Service Centers" that should be avoided like the plague. When will taxpayers finally vote this guy out of office? I finally learned today that taxpayers can finally pay online from their checking account without a fee, though Art never had the common sense to indicate this fact on any new tax bills sine online began. Not indicating normal payment methods in addition to USPS (that's another sad story) on bills is downright dishonest, in my opinion. Amazing! Taxpayers need and deserve responsible, honest government officials and workers. Art's dishonest operations sorely need replacement. If processing is too difficult for employees, lost interest alone would easily pay for part-time assistance from an outside firm for efficient payment processing. The office has moved since my last review several years ago. Still working well! The parking lot is easier to navigate here and the facility is larger and newer. Everything else works the same. I got there about 7:45am and there were 7 people ahead of me for the 8:00am opening. I renewed a disabled parking permit for a relative, and despite a small screw up on my part that was handled graciously by the clerk, was out the door by 8:15. Barring any unusual circumstances, should be safe to assume your visit will take under an hour no matter the day and time. read more

Well it's a tag office, yep. So it's like this, you get your tags here. Cept you don't get them quickly, exactly. Usually there's a small room crammed full of people ahead of you so come prepared to wait for a while to be seen. When you do, make sure that you've done a little research as to what you bring with you (check or cash, ID, - NO Credit Cards here!) The line moves relatively slow and I've waited from 30 min to 1:30 here. They have a number system so be sure to get a number to wait your turn. Customer service is most of the time helpful. But the first window, where you get your number, on occasion I've been steered the wrong direction on information and had to come back. So this is why it's good to research AHEAD. A few things, and I'm just going on experience not expertise, first off if your dealer didn't get your tags done within 30 days and you have a temp tag, you can apply for a 30 day extension once and that is it. Some dealers prepare your work so that they actualy mail you the tag, others you'll just get a notice that your registration is compolete and your tag can then be picked up at the office. I have seen where the registration notice has not arrived but you are still in the system, as in around the holidays when things slow up on the govt front, and you can still get your tag. Conversely, - you'll find that dealers will tell you about anything that they've done thier part but if your vehicle is not registered in the DMV system, no arguement is going to get you your tag from the tag office. Note that if you are not on the title, you cannot pick up the tag. If you are second on the title, you need the first person listed on the title to be with you when you pick up the tag. Why only the two stars? In summary, service is slow, information at the first window is only mostly reliable, and depending on the day, customer service is not that friendly - do your homework ahead of time, or renew (if possible) online - avoid this place if you can! read more

Nice new building. Helpful staff outside as you queue up in the tag office or driver services line. Outside the bldg, the chairs were 6ft apart to help with social distancing. The line was long, due to being closed for COVID for months, but it moved quick enough. The lady taking temperatures and giving you a number as you enter the bldg was also making sure no one was "cutting in line" either on purpose or by accident (almost me). She was kind and mindful. Once inside, chairs were also spaced appropriately and the facility was clean. We ended up at Window 1 with Diane. She was TOPS!! Kind, knowledgeable, expedient and incredibly helpful. I brought 10 times more of required info as I was expecting 2-4 hours of wait time and loads of bureaucracy based on my years of DMV experiences in California - Getting my teeth pulled would still be considerably less painful than going to DMV there. Since the Sandy Springs location is now closed for drivers license renewals, I had no choice but to go north to Roswell/Alpharetta to get my driver's license renewed. I hate to sound so cliche, but if you're going to do a renewal or a name change, do your research and plan it out and I guarantee things will go smoothly. A few tips: 1. Fill out the form online (https://online.dds.ga.gov/onlineservices/preapply/) 2. If you're changing your name too, it almost goes without saying that make sure you have that updated with Social Security first. The DMV site says to bring 1 bill with your name/address - I say bring 2 since they look at 2 items now. 3. If you have everything you need and you get there early, you'll be out of there in 30 minutes flat. I understand that going to any government agency is a pain for whatever it is you need. However, I'm a big proponent of "Failure to plan is a plan for failure." If you bring everything you need with you and even some extra, I guarantee things will go smoothly. Also, don't expect gov't employees to be happy and therefore don't expect the best customer service or anything. When it was my turn at the window, this lady seemed unpersonable and even though I have a bad driver's license picture to deal with for the next decade or so, I struck up some conversation with her about her water bottle which said "Waiting for my cheat day" or something along those lines. We joked about how we cheated badly for Thanksgiving and I'd like to think we made the experience all the better. I got into the TAG office right when they opened at 8am and waited maybe 5-10 minutes or so. Transactions at the window were no more than 10-15 minutes because I had all my docs. In and out of the DMV in 30 minutes. Simple. Be prepared, have low expectations and it'll be painless. read more

Went there on Friday, 12/29. Checked the website the day before. Says they are open. Can you guess what happened when I arrived? Yep. Locked doors, no note, and lots of unhappy county residents. Asked the folks at DDS - which was OPEN for business - and they said the tag office was closed until Tuesday, 1/2. Classic government communication. Oh, and Yelp, sure would be nice if you allowed us to give zero stars. One star actually implies you had an experience with the business you're reviewing. As of May 2017, they do take cards. Caveat is that they will add a fee for swiping. Like all of the reviews, make sure U have everything plus the kitchen sink so they won't turn U away. Ask Ur questions 3x to make sure that all three R all in the same responses. Good luck!!! read more

Absolutely horrible. Worst experience I've ever had at a tag office. Went in to get my tag last Friday and they were closed until Tuesday,Why!! For what? New Years was on Sunday so why are you closed?! Went back Tues at 2:30pm, sat and waited until 5:15pm and was nowhere close to being next. By that time I had to go to work so I left. Came back today at 11:30am, it's now 2:26 and I'm still waiting. Nobody should have to sit and wait a whole day just to get a tag. People have things to do and jobs, If I don't have my tag I can't get to work! I've been dealing with this place for 3 days and I'm really getting sick of it. Hire more employees to accommodate larger quantities of people or something,it's the first of the year! You guys should be prepared. read more

No one likes going to the tag/tax office but this has got to be the most organized tag office I've ever been to. In the past I've been to tag offices in 2 other counties, Hall and White. Both were the typical slow, not-too-helpful type of places we all expect. This office, though? They have their stuff together. I've been here 5 times (I never take the easy way and just renew online for some reason) and been impressed each time. I think my longest wait time has been 15 min. I'm usually in and out in 10. It would be nice if all the employees spoke clear English (there are some thick accents) but I can't really complain when they get me what I need and do it quickly. They are also pretty friendly. I won't go so far as to say they are super nice but I haven't encountered anyone there that was less than professional. The nicest person here is always the security guard, he's a good guy! read more

First off, this is conveniently located near my church! When I purchased my new car, I immediately knew what tag office I would go to because I've seen the sign for years when coming to church. But I digress. Unlike other motor vehicle-related entities, this place doesn't have large signage like the DMV or DDS. Nope, you're directed my little signs. This place looks like it was meant to be a small office park, but I suppose Fulton county decided to take it over. Which is a shame because parking isn't plentiful at this place. You would think you would be entering a large building with rows and rows of chairs and a long line of people waiting to get their business done, but that's not what you'll get here. There are only three rows of chairs in a long line and the space is relatively small from other government entities. Being a motor vehicle place, the set up is the same as all the others - letters A-E with numbers and a computer reads them out and tells them which counter to report to. I got there a little after 8am and a security officer gave me my lettered and numbered ticket and told me to take a seat. A050! I went to the DDS a couple of weeks ago and got there 30 minutes early and there was still a huge line out the door, but not this place. No line. And, surprisingly, the numbers moved quickly. I brought a book to read and settled into my chair, ready to wait it out and be there for quite some time, but that wasn't the case. My number was called in less than 10 minutes! I gave the lady my bill of sale and the letter that the dealership sent me AND my driver's license and I was good to go. Not quite! Apparently they don't take debit or credit cards! They have signs posted all over about the requirement to have your driver's license, but I didn't see a sign about payment until I was at the window. And to make it worse, the sign was small. So all my paperwork was done, now I just needed to pay. I had to LEAVE, go find an ATM on Old Milton parkway during the morning rush hour and come back. That was a giant hassle. I thought I was going to have to get another number and wait to pay, but the security officer told me to wait until my lady was free and go back up to the counter. Yes! Once I paid the lady, she printed our my registration and gave me my new tag. If I had cash, the whole process would have taken less than 20 minutes from start to finish. read more

I became the duchess due to some ineptitude concerning paperwork by the car dealership that had me visiting frequently as the due date came and went for my temporary tag. There's a take-a-number system, with one set of numbers for home tax and another set for motor vehicles. Interestingly enough, the lines seem to be worse in the morning than the afternoons, as if folks all think that getting there early is the way to go. Of the 4 times that I was there in 6 weeks, the lightest time was definitely 3 in the afternoon. Even arriving before the office opens, there was a line outside. They do have a small area designated for families, such that kids have slightly more space, but it was full to the gills with other waiting folks as well. The staff itself is relatively helpful, considering this is a government office and they do have to deal with large numbers of people who aren't thrilled to be there. Following all the instructions on the website, I was told that I was over-prepared in terms of paperwork. Each clerk calmly explained that the title was on hold at the state, and that I needed to call the dealership to have them look into it. Turns out that you can get a 30 day extension on your tag in such a situation, and that didn't take more than 5 minutes, and it was free. And when the business was finally cleared up between the dealer and the state, the transaction to get my existing tag from the previous car transferred took less than 5 minutes. *Cash and personal checks only - no plastic! *Bring a valid driver's license/ID, because they will definitely ask for that. If you end up waiting longer than you have time for, and decide to leave, I'm sure the next person walking in the door would appreciate your ticket. read more

I filled out and sent in all the correct paperwork for the "Expedited Title Replacement". I paid for overnight shipping in order to speed up the process, only to get it returned saying that I need to include the original title and the correct paperwork...I'm trying to get a replacement title, therefore I don't have the original. I called this location to make sure that I filled everything out correctly, which I did to only find it that they don't process the "Expedited Title Replacement". This was not the information I was told the first time when I called. Now I wasted my time and $25 for overnight shipping because the representative told me the wrong information and all I get is an apology...this place would get no stars if it was possible. read more

Ms. Natalie was just the most pleasant person to deal with and even if you always get good news (I did), this lady could probably deliver disappointing news in the most polite and empathetic way. Just went in today to get my driver's license renewed, expecting to be there for an hour or more. What a surprise. It took me less than 15 minutes, including a vision check and photo. Of course, I had my paperwork filled out from the online printing of forms, and had my passport with me. The clerk was pleasant and friendly. The location on Maxwell Road is large and can accommodate a crowd. I got my ticket and was called almost immediately. I won't delay going in (out of dread) the next time I have to renew. read more
