Just went in today to get my driver's license renewed, expecting to be there for an hour or more. What a surprise. It took me less than 15 minutes, including a vision check and photo. Of course, I had my paperwork filled out from the online printing of forms, and had my passport with me. The clerk was pleasant and friendly. The location on Maxwell Road is large and can accommodate a crowd. I got my ticket and was called almost immediately. I won't delay going in (out of dread) the next time I have to renew. read more

Best experience I've ever had and going and renewing my tags. The people were friendly and courteous and I was in and out in 10 minutes.

Just had the best experience of any DMV, ever. Walked up with tag renewal paperwork in hand, and the greeter at the door immediately recognized the documents and directed me to the self-serve kiosk. There was no line for the kiosk, and within 5 minutes I had scanned and processed the renewal, paid, and was on my way with new my tags. Unbelievable! Thank you Fulton county! read more

Don't bother opening the day after Christmas if no one will be working. Renewed 2 tags on my birthday and only received one. Had to go pick up the other one. Since my daughter was home for Christmas went to office so I could make sure to have her tag before she leaves. Of course place was full but only 5 people working. Occasionally 1 or 2 disappear so only 2 or 3 windows are open. I guess maybe the first time they ever opened the day after Christmas and had no idea what volume to expect or really don't care because they ultimately collect the money anyway. For now on will renew online early enough so it I don't get them there is time to have resent. No real business would last operating like this. Will do what I can to avoid ever having to waste time here again. read more

Trying to get your tags on a lease vehicle transferred from another state is a nightmare. Unless you see a supervisor, no one there knows what they are doing. I have been given a runaround for literally 9 months now between the leasing company and this tag office. read more

I renewed tag online and never received sticker. Called office and was told there was a 19 min wait time which was bad enough, but after one hour and three minutes waiting, still no answer!!!! I could not hold longer since I have a life! Hope I have better luck next time. This kind of wait time is ridiculous!!! read more

This office is very packed, and the girl who helped me had a very bad attitude, didn't explain anything to me, and no smile. Please, I don't owe you money, putting on a smile to customers should be the least you can do. Also, I've been to Gwinnett tag office, the same question, although they couldn't help out either, but at least they had a good attitude, tried to help, and put on a smile. Started out strong...the women who greets you as you walk in answers questions and gets you to where you need to be (she's awesome!). They have plenty of computers to complete your application, then onto station 2 to easily get your ticket. There are plenty of counters so the line moves quickly. All seemed to be going great...then it all changed. I am obtaining a Georgia license as I have recently moved from Louisiana. My purse was stolen so I don't have my actual license, but per online you can bring your official driving record. I ordered this online and printed it out, had it along with all of my other needed documents. Then I'm told its not an official record (it states "Official Certificate of Driving Record" with the LA seal). I'm told I have to have the LA DMV fax the report to the GA DMV. Ok, so as annoying as this is, especially because as stated online under things needed to bring if replacing lost of stolen license, it does not indicate the driving record has to be faxed from the issuing state...but ok fine. So I leave, and I call the LA DMV, and I'm told that the official driving record is what I have printed. Since moving to online services, the offices no longer have access to print and send records, that is why they have the new and efficient system. I told them the GA DMV needs it and they continue to tell me this is the official record and GA DMV has to accept it. So I call the GA DMV and talk to the Customer Service center (the same customer service center I called to begin with and they told me the one I ordered was sufficient and also the same call center that the Alpharetta DMV office told me was terrible and always gets things wrong!). I explain the situation, they told me that I needed to go back to the Alpharetta DMV and talk to a supervisor. I told her I had talked to a Supervisor, he was the one who told me this call center is terrible. So now I am stuck between GA and LA both saying different things, and there is no one for me to actually talk to so I can resolve. read more

It is so nice to have this office so close to home. Love it! When you go, make sure that you mapquest/gps first because it is tucked away and can be difficult to find within the business park. You will also want to get there early to make sure that you are able to get out within a timely manner, (if you need to get to work). Most importantly, make sure that you that you take every single document that you could possibly need so that your service can be expedited and you don't have to make a return trip. When you have everything you need, it is easy to get in and out. read more

Shouldn't have left this for the Alpharetta office... although it might be as good. Our experience, and Ms. Traylor, were at the Sandy Springs location. What can I say? I'm not a superior mind deciding where the review should be placed. But, I am excellent at noting whether service that I receive is superior, or not. read more

I think we all dread going to the tag office because past experience tells us it's going to take an hour or more. When I dropped by this location around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday, it was a mad house so I decided to come back another time. I happened to pop onto Yelp to see if anyone had luck with good times to go and saw a review that suggested to go around 3:00. What the heck I thought, I didn't have anything to lose so off I went. When I arrived, it surprised me the parking lot didn't have many cars so into the office I went. I arrived inside at 3:26 pm and was out the door by 3:32. So to the reviewer who said go after 3:00 pm, you rock! To anyone else looking for a great tag office, going after 3:00 pm worked for me too and the staff is really friendly. read more

I came here twice. The first visit was decent. I didn't have to wait long at all, and the worker that I met was very helpful. She took the time to answer my questions and helped me with everything I needed. However, the second visit was a disaster (I came to return my license plate). There wasn't a long wait this time either, but the worker that "helped" me was very rude. After I had given her my license, she threw my license plate back at me and told me to "get out of here." She was totally unprofessional. Overall, short to medium wait time is great, but I would dread getting "help" from the same worker I met. read more

I arrived around 11am and there were only about 6 or 7 people waiting. I was pleased with the speed and efficiency of the staff. I would've been in and out in 10-15 minutes however I did not know there was a fee for paying with credit/debit cards. Since I figured they had taken enough of my money for tax and tags, I decided to go home and get my checkbook. I came back with the check made out in the amount I was quoted and the clerk took me at their window, no wait. A couple hours later I get a voicemail from the supervisor asking me to come back to pay MORE money because the clerk told me the incorrect amount. It was an honest mistake however I was already really annoyed that my registration was higher than expected and THEN I had to go back in the middle of my day. Not cool. read more

I paid my car tag online on 1/1... 1/15 I called and they said wait a few days.... I called 1/25 and they said it was mailed on 1/10 but they would resend... called today...they said they would not resend and I had to come in and go piss up a rope.....this is why I didn't have p o s Fulton co tags for 20 years even though I lived here...,I received my tags on 2/2 read more

That was the worst tag office ever (3155 Royal Dr Alpharetta): they probably know how to handle most common cases but got confused with how to deal with our simple case: all we wanted was a temporary tag since the car we bought from private seller was still under lien and so we didnt have a title yet. Brought all needed documents(bill of sale, insurance and driver license) but after saying that there is no procedure for such cases they after some hesitations asked us for some ridiculous papers from the seller's bank. In the end manager just ended up denying our request for temporary tag explaining that there is no way/procedure for our case and we just need to wait for a title. All other tag offices(Sandy springs, Duluth, Decatur) even on phone willingly explained what documents are needed. And Sandy Spring Tag office gave us temp tag without any question!! read more

Went in this morning to do a tag transfer @ 8:15 was out by 8:25. Both the security at the front entrance and the person helping me were pleasant and professional. While I paid in cash, I did notice signs for Credit and Debit cards so looks like they have changed from accepting cash/check only to also including CCs. read more

I work for a dealer and my biggest issue with the county is that 1 out of 5 tags that I have processed through the tag office the either the name is misspell, the wrong name all together is listed or of the incorrect address of the customer its very hard to understand how so many in fulton county are incorrect the just don't seem to really care. and to try and get in touch with them by phone is a joke read more

Now I moved to GA for in june 2014 and I tried to register my car and I don't know what heck CVT charges are and they again forced me to pay 1450$ to my car it almost like me buying my own car and no one helped me out in in understanding why was I being taxed twice and If i leave GA to another state what will happen to my taxes I paid ........... read more

I was in the tag's office today to register a new vehicle, really got a bad experience with an agent (not mentioning her name - to protect her image and career) who seems to be new and kind of rude. I had to spent 3:30 hrs there, she made me wait for everything, I had provided all the insurance related papers as requested (such as binder, letter and later on declaration). She was not able to understand the effective date of a new vehicle and was asking me to change the date of the insurance policy which was active for an entire year as I have another car insured under that policy. I had offered her to talk to my insurance agent she declined. First escalation to one supervisor didn't help the case. Finally, I had to become firm that I am bringing all the valid papers, why are you not able to provide license plate and registration. Finally, another supervisor came and asked me if I have a policy declaration, I had sent the entire policy to her. Finally, she approved and I got my license plate. Other agent was still rude, didn't realize her mistake or apologized for keeping me on hold for hours. Intent of this message is to give them feedback to take care of their customers and value their time. read more
