Went out on a Thursday night and the place was packed. Felt like half the town was there elbow-to-elbow. The lights on the water were excellent, but all I was pulling up on the sabiki were tiny bait fish -- piggy perch, small whiting, you name it. Basically running a daycare for baby fish under those lights. Dropped $20 on croaker and got nothing out of it. Even tried the artificial fish bites, and still just fed the little guys. Didn't see anyone else land anything worth bragging about either. Honestly, just way too many people for not much action. read more

This pier is very nice. It is extremely long so the walk out to the end takes time but that is where setting up to fish is the easiest. There are benches at the end and a cleaning station along with a second cleaning station at the beginning by the store. The price is $5 a pole with a limit of 4 per person. Plenty of places to stop and get bait in the convention center plaza or even a fancy coffee near by! read more

The pier is long so it's perfect for the kids and adults for fishing or just to take a little stroll on the. The lights are a nice addition to see the fish swimming around and they always have dolphins around so that's good for the kiddos. The fishing is great through out the whole pier but is especially good for black drum and sharks and rays at the end. Price to get on are fair and the staff are always nice. read more

Fulton Fishing Pier what is the point of an honest John box if your staff approaches customers who paid at 5:30am through your box ($10 in all ones so you can check) and tells them they have to pay for a wrist band starting at 7am when staff gets there. Mind you they did their round at 7:40ish. My frustration is due to your staff insinuating I did not pay because they could not "see" my money from where you dispense the money. Of course you can't because I pushed it down. Your staff also said they had no way of checking that I paid but that I would have to pay again. I at least would have appreciated being given the benefit of the doubt if you could not check. If that's the case, post it. There was nothing saying I would have to pay again. I wanted to love this pier but being treated like that after I was honest and paid makes it difficult to ever come back. Do better. Be better. read more

"Gone Green!" Fulton fun in the sun! This fishing pier is currently closed, as of this writing. Hurricane Harvey did a number on this pier, and it's only about 60% standing. The famous green lights have been shut down until further notice. People still fish though. There's three or four little covered picnic areas where people hang out, fish and relax in the shade. When I went, one of the picnic tables had all kinds of muck on it, where it looked like someone had cleaned their fish on the table, and neglected to wipe it down afterwords. This place has an obscene amount of parking for so few picnic areas. Maybe when the pier is working this place gets a lot more full. You could do donuts in a semi truck in the parking lot here, no problem. There are permanent restrooms in a concrete building. Once they get the pier reopened, this place will be a lot more fun. The pier was free if you're just going out to walk around and check things out. There was a $3 fee for fishing poles. But you can't walk or fish from the pier anymore for the time being. read more

Woke up this morning with one dream,... to walk along the Fulton Beach road and live "in the moment." I could immediately smell the salt air like opening a candle jar perhaps named, "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life." I saw the waters pull itself onto the shore of tiny broken shells like a sheet pulled atop a bed over and over. Through my binoculars, I could watch a ship in Aransas Bay and lots of shrimp boats seining their catch. The white pelicans were out swimming alongside the brown pelicans. People were driving by in their cars and waving to me like they knew me. I walked on the shore, and the large cement blocks for erosion control, and on the piers and then I arrived at the park. I stopped in at the Fulton Harbor Bait & Seafood store and said hello to Jesus, the guy who takes care of the aquatic pools for blue crabs, finger mullet, live shrimp and other types of live bait. I talked to him about a state license for fishing and crabbing. He is always supportive and knowledgeable. I returned to my walk home and it took two hours. Then I drove back to the bait stand and got 15 blue crabs for lunch. They're $2 a piece and the store is cash only. I took lots of photos so you could experience this great day with me!! Four stars were chosen because the pier has not yet been reconstructed after Hurricane Harvey. read more

I love this pier. Not only is it never crowded but the place is lit up with green led lights. The city of Fulton put some money into making this a truley great fishing spot. They sale dead bait in the check in office and its $3 a pole to fish. This past visit I caught a3 foot shark, trout and Gaftop. Each time I come into town I hit this pier up and am never disappointed. I will also mention my favorite thing about the Pier. As your walking up to the peir there is a bait stand to the right. Ask for the table prawn shrimp....OMG....I always pick up 3-4 pounds to take back to the house to fry up. No lie they are the best ever and at a very reasonable price. Just a note: Be prepared for the wind. I usually fish late at night and the wind really picks up. Bringing along a windbreaker would be a smart idea. read more

This is by far the best pier in the area. There were a man and woman who seemed to run it. They were both really nice. The guy was extremely friendly and funny. I had a gripe about a man there a couple days in a row who was there late at night into the morning drunk fishing. He did what any drunk old man would do. Try to talk to me and my friend and be flirty. Well I was not amused. The guy who ran it said if I had any problems with anyone to let him know and he would run them off. Then he joked with me a few days later that he heard the guy was coming back down. I told him not to F with me and we both laughed. Most everyone who uses the pier are very nice and friendly and willing to lend a hand or a congrats on a big catch. I only met one or two cocky asses and a couple of "talkers". Most I would say are locals and I feel pretty safe there. Stayed on the pier with my friend till the sun came up. We weren't the only ones. It's a walk to the end but it's not that bad. Take a cart or cooler on wheels to haul your gear. Bring paracord to tie down your stuff. Sometimes it's windy, sometimes a good breeze. Still, take no chances. The bathrooms are right next to the pier and are fairly clean for park bathrooms. At $4 a pole it can get pricy but it's still cheaper than the Bob Hall pier. It's not so high off the water and it's not on beach surf. There is some great fishing here but as with most places you can't escape the gafftop or hardheads. If you want to catch some big fish, go for the black drums. Peak times are 11 pm to 2 am, roughly. Bring a good pole, 50+ lb. test line, crab and a drop net to bring them up. You can catch some whoppers but you can't keep them because they have too many parasites and most aren't within the legal limit anyway. They sure are fun to catch though. I love the green pier. I love the green lights. It will be a regular fishing spot for me. read more

This pier is too narrow, only towards the end it widens up. The lights are very cool at night. The bait shop near the entrance has a variety and the kid knows his stuff, didn't get his name but was very helpful. Didn't have luck on catching anything either but worth the trip to visit the area and restaurants near by. read more

We've fished all over rockport, aransas pass and port A, this was our first time at the Fulton Pier. The pier itself is wonderful. The couple that run the pier are extremely nice and take excellent care of the site. The pier is in great condition, the lights (GREEN LIGHTS) are well spaced (although there was one burned out). We had a fun evening. Only issue was two dolphins that circled the pier all night. I am hoping that is what kept the fish away. We caught a ton of specs and sand trout/whiting/white trout but not a single keeper. We will give another try soon. Can't fault the pier for the Dolphins, great night!! read more
