They have a vendor who has massage chairs setup and offers massages to customers. I also liked that it was open later in the day compared to most other farmer's markets. Upon arrival, there was a good amount of people enjoying the breezy August day, and parking wasn't too difficult to find. We ended up parking along the perimeter of the park itself, since the farmer's market is located at Carmichael Park and the main lot was full. For a smaller farmer's market, there were still a good variety of vendors, and a handful of produce stands. Food and drink vendors were also present, and of course the matcha stand was popping. The matcha stand was called Luz & Leaf, and had a small but varied menu, including a seasonal mango matcha lemonade for the summer. I had to go for the London Fog Matcha Latte, since I love earl grey tea (and lavender syrup). This matcha latte was the perfect drink for walking about the farmer's market, and so smooth. The ice level was just right, and I'm so glad they had oat milk for me, as that has been my milk of choice these days for my coffee/matcha orders. There were only two girls manning the matcha stand, and they were working diligently to whisk matcha and get orders out in a timely manner. I absolutely did not mind waiting, and enjoyed watching the girls put together everyone's drinks. I also got a stamp card from them since I would definitely want to have more matcha from them again. The other vendor we ended up purchasing from was a sweet lady who sold green tea leaves, including Kan Cha, which is one of the rarest teas in the world. She works directly with small farms who grow the special tea leaves, and sells them at a really reasonable price point. I ended up getting a packet of the Kan Cha, and will be making some once it gets cold enough to make hot tea (she recommended to steep it in hot water for best flavor notes). As we were busy training with my friend's dog, we didn't quite experience as much of the framer's market as much as I wanted to, but I'm sure we will be back some other time. This farmer's market is super dog friendly, so it's a perfect environment for working on handler engagement and neutrality. The majority of the dogs seemed decently behaved, but I personally wouldn't bring my own dog to this farmer's market, especially since the majority of dog owners don't pay good enough attention to their dogs, and don't hold their dogs to a high standard of obedience like I do with my own dog. We had a few close calls where owners didn't care and literally allowed their dogs to stare at or wander close to my friend's dog, which is very rude. All in all, I'm glad to see this little farmer's market thrive, and would love to check out some of the other vendors next time we visit.

They also have some prepared items like desserts, salads, dressings, pickles, dips, and more. On my latest visit I ended up ordering their Italian Hero ($11.99) from the deli counter, and picked up some of their pickles and house made caesar dressing. Everything was high quality and I loved that they have these options available. The Caesar dressing is delicious and I'll definitely be stopping in again for more. I've been using it on salads since picking it up. It had a good amount of parmesan cheese so The pickles have a very unique flavor, they're definitely tasty but not my favorite version of Dill Pickles- they are more tangy and zingy that traditional dill pickles, not bad just not what I expected. (I was thinking more kosher dill, like Claussen pickles or like the pickles you'd get at a Jewish deli). The sandwich was the star of the show, for $11.99 it was HUGE, the Italian Hero comes with prosciutto, mortadella, salami, roasted red bell pepper, and provolone- all sandwiches also come with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and pepperoncini. The combination of ingredients on Dutch Crunch bread was amazing and I think having roasted red peppers as an option is underrated, it elevates a sandwich so much. While I wouldn't do my normal shopping here, I would absolutely come for specialty items or pick up needed items for convenience. I'll be back again soon!

Samoon is an Iraqi white yeast bread shaped like a diamond or a canoe. The origin is likely from Georgia then brought to Iraq by Armenians immigrants. The first baker to make this bread in Iraq was named Simon, which translates to Samoon in Arabic. My CHICKEN KABOB SANDWICH on Samoon bread with house garlic sauce was so delicious! You have your choice of garlic sauce or tahini sauce, but Hameed told me that the garlic sauce culturally pairs with the Samoon and the tahini sauce with the Pita. You also have your choice of toppings: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, and pickles. I think the yummy default is to order everything, but I said all but the onion. Wow, who knew that dicing cucumber elevates it to a new level of taste and texture! I mistook it for zucchini. I am all eager to order or make Jerusalem Salad or Israeli Salad now, a salad prepped with those same toppings, except the lettuce. Restaurant is uncomfortably warm with the bread oven, but nothing beats eating food freshly baked and prepared, so I decided to eat my sandwich there. There are just a few tables inside. No outdoor dining. Most people order to go. The savory PIES come in two shapes: a large round and a smaller diamond or canoe shape. Given I have been dreaming of Georgian cheese bread, Adjaruli Khachapuri, for years, I opted for the boat shape and got one MEAT PIE and one CHEESE PIE. The meat was spiced. I heated each in the toaster oven for a few minutes. Fun to eat! Very reasonably priced. I googled the Middle Eastern word for hand pies: Fatayer. The dolmas were also fun and convenient to eat. 10 in a box. Dolmas are marinated grape leaves stuffed with a seasoned rice and rolled into little cigars. Restaurant offers 2 juices made in house: 1. Freshly squeezed OJ that was bright orange in color 2. Fruit punch made with grape juice and black carrot juice Restaurant offers 3 kinds of baklava for dessert! 1. Walnut Baklava 2. Pistachio Baklava 3. Bird Nest Baklava (Arabic: Osh El Bulbul) At home, I enjoyed my Samoon with BABA GHANOUSH and hummus from Mediterranean Bakery. Baba Ghanoush seemed more special to me than the hummus. I did appreciate that the hummus came garnished with a few chickpeas. I also ordered a 1/2 pound of beef shawarma to go. It needed 20 minutes to finish grilling on the rotisserie, so I explored Alibaba International Foods market and the Kind Bean Cafe & Ethiopian Cuisine restaurant in the same plaza. Beef shawarma is marinated in a spiced paste. Lacking all the fresh vegetable toppings, I couldn't assemble as delectable a sandwich at home. If I can tear myself away from the chicken kabob sandwich (kabab, kebab, kebob), I'd be interested in trying the other meat sandwiches: beef kabob, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, chicken shawarma, and beef shawarma. I'd also try salads: Mediterranean Salad, Greek Salad, or Beyrotiya Salad (chickpeas, tomatoes, and cucumbers in olive oil, garlic, cumin, and lemon juice). I procrastinated too long writing this review, so my memory may be failing me. The co-owners of the restaurant are all from the Mediterranean area: Sudan, Lebanon, and Iraq, I believe.
