One of my favorite parts was how interactive it was for kids. They have a scavenger hunt that keeps them engaged while exploring the museum, which makes it fun for the whole family. My kids loved searching for the clues while checking out all the different aircraft. There are planes both outside and inside the museum, and the exhibits are well laid out so you can take your time walking through everything. It's a great place if you enjoy aviation or just want something different and educational to do with the family. Definitely worth the visit. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

There are a couple of Russian MIGs, but the rest of the collection are American aircraft. There were a few aircraft I have not see in any other air museum on the west coast, like the F-100D and the F-86L. I also went to see the Snoopy and the Red Baron Exhibit. There were a lot of comic strips to view. I really like how they were blown up and not newspaper sized, because they were easier to read that way. I wish the screens would show all of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and What Have We Learned Charlie Brown instead of just the Red Baron excepts. It eventually got repetitive as I was reading the strips. I like how they have a cafe inside the museum. There was no food available within walking distance that I could see. I had the tuna melt. It was fresh and very good.

We rode the bus from the school and checked in at the designated field trip area when we arrived. Since there were four classes, they split us into groups, which made everything feel organized and smooth. The kids absolutely loved the hay ride and getting a tour of the farm to see the layout. One child was so excited she almost fell over. Her water bottle fell but she was safe. We then visited the animals and learned about all the amazing things the farm does, which was both fun and educational. After the tour, the kids enjoyed time on the playground and had snacks. There were also shops and places to eat, which was great for families and chaperones. The bathrooms are port-a-potties. They do have hand washing stations. I had never heard of this farm before, but it truly exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back next year! It was only $5 per child and $15 for parents which wasn't bad.

Their annual membership is so worth. As they have several special events. Next to the museum they have plenty of parking. I take Bart as the stop is one block away. Chinatown is walkable for great restaurants. The Oakland library is close by too! There's a restaurant inside the museum while the food sounds great it's okay. I would recommend walking /driving to Chinatown or downtown Oakland for amazing food.

We came on a Saturday afternoon, easy parking in the garage. There is a lot to see here, it focuses on California and the Bay Area!! There are 3 floors here, each floor with a vast array of art, history, and science. You're never too old to learn something new, a lot of things here caught my attention for real. There is also a garden and lawn area along with a restaurant here, so it's really easy to spend most of the day here. I'm always interested in history, so that was my favorite part here, but everything here was great. And I probably need a few more visits to actually take in everything that this museum has to offer!!

No discounts for going but they do have some pop-up/ food truck type places here. This is on the outside in front of the entrance. Admission was a little expensive in my opinion. The kids weren't able to play in the playground because it was wet and it was kind of hard to see the animals because they were hiding. I'd heard about it, but it never quite made it to the top of the list. Today my son suggested we go since admission is free on Saturdays for Bay Area residents, so we stopped by late in the afternoon -- and I was genuinely blown away. That's not an exaggeration. First, parking was easier than expected. The small lots right by the entrance were full, but there's another lot less than a quarter mile down the hill where we found a space without any trouble. Maybe we got lucky, but it was smooth. The setting alone is worth the visit. The museum sits among rolling green hills with views that feel very different from the usual tourist spots. The architecture is striking, and I was surprised to learn the building is now over a century old. The centerpiece collection features works by Auguste Rodin, and seeing so many of his sculptures up close -- in different sizes and forms -- was fascinating. It felt like a real privilege to experience them in person. There are rotating exhibits throughout the year; currently the spotlight is on Édouard Manet and Berthe Morisot. I'm not a major art expert, but I still enjoyed learning about their partnership and viewing these Impressionist works. The unexpected highlight was the Spreckels Organ performance. We happened to catch the Saturday 4pm concert -- pure luck. The organ pipes are built into the structure itself, and the hour-long performance was mesmerizing. It's one of those experiences you just have to hear for yourself. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back.
