There are several spaces available for various sized ceremonies, as well as an area where the family was able to serve lite refreshments and gather around tables to eat and converse, although it was a little tight. The restroom facilities were large enough for several people at once, were fairly clean and well stocked, although my wife reported that one of the women's stalls did clog/back up while we were there which left an unpleasant odor nearby. Parking lots are located on both the north and south side of the building, as well as on street parking on Broadway.

The space was nice and intimate. it felt peaceful, private, and respectful, which made all the difference for our family during such a difficult time. Even the small things, like having a clean and well-maintained bathroom, didn't go unnoticed. I…read morefound myself having to care for two services in the past two years, for my spouse and my father, respectively. Over the past few decades I have become very familiar with Glen Abbey Memorial Park because it is the final resting place for many of my loved ones. This is a beautiful environment, and I can understand why many have chosen it with its sweeping views of San Diego from the hillside and the beautiful indoor venues it has to offer. I personally had the pleasure of working with Nancy Limon, who made the experience for both services that I planned, as undemanding as possible. My family and I had the time to grieve and be in selfcare because of how efficient she was. She explained and arranged every detail with ease. More importantly, Nancy was very accessible. In short, Nancy and her team got the job done, and for this I am grateful.

Not much has changed from my last review. It seems it's gotten worse. The grounds look horrible. You know it's bad when you see other visitors bringing their own gardening implements like weed whackers, gardening shears & weed pullers. We made sure we pulled up the weeds around my parents' and brother's grave markers. I think we'll bring gardening tools, too, when we return. We were able to add more flowers. My mom's new marker hasn't been installed. She passed in 2023! The delay is inexcusable. As much money that was paid for what should have been their final resting place is marred by the lack of oversight & upkeep of these grounds. I guess as long as they got their money nothing else is a priority. Those who sing their praises must have paid an arm & a leg. I see that Glen Abbey is erecting a new building but can't seem to afford to maintain the grounds in a consistent, decent manner. The level of disrespect as evidenced by the lack of caring is very frustrating. This place should be manicured and pristine! Trash along the curbs and by headstones? Seriously? My husband and I are veterans and we would never want to be buried here. The current conditions are lamentable. I don't know what you can say to me at this point that would even appease me. I'm sure I will hear nothing but excuses and platitudes and nothing will change! The situation is so reprehensible I am beyond angry!

As our first family passing, this establishment made it smooth and simple for us. I contacted several funeral homes yet I chose this establishment because Isabel was prompt, detailed and straight forward with what we needed and the pricing that this would entail. Isabel communicated every step of the process and helped answering any questions I had in a prompt and kind manner. She also helped us with ordering flowers and making sure the booklet we chose for my sisters viewing was exactly as we envisioned it. Additionally, we wanted to make sure no one took pictures of my sisters body and Isabel make sure signs were posted with these instructions. We are forever grateful to have chosen this establishment. Not only is the care exceptional but also the location is beautiful. The viewing room is perfect for the amount of people we needed and the parking lot offered plenty of parking for our guests. To finalize my review, my sister believed that the body is temporary but that the soul never dies. Through our many conversations we talked about cremation as our desire when it came time for the soul to go back to the source. We are spiritual and we often came from San Diego to frequent the meditation garden in Encinitas (just 5 minutes away from El Camino), she often times said that Encinitas was her favorite place. I hope you felt honored sis and I am forever grateful to have had such a beautiful soul as a sister in this life. I will see you again when life decides its my turn and I will cherish the grief because it will forever be the greatest reminder of how much I love you and how blessed I am to have had you as a sister in this life

La Vista representatives have tried mightily to find some or all of this policy "unfunded", not included (since when is opening and closing of the grave "optional"?), and therefore chargeable, to the tune of over $2,000. We straightened it out! Today my friend went alone to pay what I was told by LaVista was a $312 fee for tax and interment registration. I thought she was safe. They kept her over an hour while TWO people (this admitted to me by one of the mentioned people) kept talking and (she felt) badgered her until she "understood" what they were saying- and was so overwhelmed, she wrote a check for an additional $350 to pay for headstone, grave liner, permanent vase etc. that were ALREADY COVERED by the insurance! My friend said she was SO overwhelmed at that point she just wanted to "get out of there", and paid so she could leave. I called and we are going tomorrow to pick up the check and give them a new one for the appropriate amount. The rep also told me they asked her during that hour if she believed in Jesus, and I said I was aware she did but what has that to do with the business at hand? My friend-who was calmed by this time- said it was to make her feel safe with them so they could get her to do what they wanted, and I agree. Please!
