First time at a comedy club, so I don't have much to compare to, but we had a good time coming in from out of town specifically for the comedian we saw. Unfortunately we had to change our entire trip because we bought tickets for a Saturday show that got canceled and we had to move up to Friday instead, which was a pain given that we had to travel and I had to take off work instead of traveling on a weekend. Not really sure if that's the comedian or the club's doing. Seats are reserved when you buy them so make sure you purchase with your whole party. And you won't know where you're sitting until you get to the show, so you just kind of hope for good seats I guess. We got decent seats, a table at the far end of the stage but in the front. Decent view, and it was kind of neat that the comedians enter and exit through the door behind us. But as other reviewers have pointed out, you may get seats with your back to the stage and there's not much room to turn around, so we just got lucky. There is a two-item minimum per person, which is a little tight given the amount of people they're serving and the amount of time you have vs. the number of available servers. I ordered both my drinks up front to avoid disappointment later, which is probably for the best. Decent food and drinks, not anything particular noteworthy. Really weird process for the whole thing, as many other reviewers pointed out. Not sure I'd go out of my way to come here again. read more

The seating is awful! Bob, scans the tickets and makes the seat assignment. I requested to sit in the second tier due to a medical issue with sitting on hard chairs. He absolutely refused to grant my request. Our seat that he assigned was at a table close to the stage that seats 4, with our backs to the stage! He was however, seating other customers on the second tier. There wasn't any VIP seating that restricted him from changing our seats! I was comfortable with the 2purchase minimum but not with the uncomfortable seating that would affect me for days! I will NEVER visit this establishment again and will advise everyone else not to either! read more

I Went today to see an amazing comedian. He was everything but the service was horrible we waited 30 minutes for our drinks Our food never came until the end of the show and it was still wrong I asked for a manager the server told me they dont do that. I've fired this club, I'll never go to see another show here. Whoever runs it is obviously penny pinching and totally screwing up. I got there 25 minutes before the show and had to shout down a server at show start just to make an order, we got the drinks about an hour in, and only got half the food by the end of the show. Then we had to wait 10 minutes after the show ended to get our credit card back. They obviously won't spend any money on cooks and likely their kitchen. I'll add that this is my second bad experience of the same type in a row at this venue, I've been at least 6 times before. They're going to go out of business soon at this rate. So they're off my list until I hear someone else has bought this failing venue and fixes it up. read more

This is the worst comedy venue I have been to. What is up with the seating? Why would I want to be seated at a table with people I don't know? Especially when there isn't a full house? Could this be remedied by taking 4 or 8 people? Yes, but why should I have to? After we were already seated, they sat two of the nastiest women I have ever witnessed at our table across from us. One was coughing and blowing her hose and hacking up nastiness that she then spit into a napking and placed on the table. Then when we finally got up to move halfway through, the staff acted like we weren't allowed. Yeah right. Service wasn't especially great either. The food was fine, but the menu is old and boring. The seating is extremely uncomfortable and crowded. Our seats were as far up front and off to the side as you could get, making it impossible to see the comics if they chose to stand towards the back of the stage. Did to add my cousin pointed out that she found the acoustics to be very bad. It was difficult at times to hear the comedians performing, and I think it might've been because of the location of our seats, but that's something to consider. Also, people have encountered issues in paying their bills. Some things that could be better is the seating....Terrible! No one wants to rub shoulders with someone they don't know. No space for eating without being in someone's face. Went here on Saturday 12/19. A patron had a medical emergency and the audience as well as the feature artist had to ask many times over for management to turn up the lights. Literally, it took almost five full minutes to get the lights on. That's pathetic. Also, why do the acts here always have to talk dirty? I get that we're all adults, but that doesn't mean I want to hear grown men talk about " dicks" and the size of theirs as well as the size of an audience member. Also, I found every act to be racist. I just saw a show tonight and the comedian was super funny. That being said I had a few issues with the venue. The first being that the drinks basically tasted like juice and ice. I couldn't taste any alcohol and the other drinks people got at my table were the same way. The drinks were expensive at $13 and that added up. They give you no choice and have you tip 18% which bumped my money spent at this place way up. I just think it's crazy to require people to order food/drinks when they're not good and you already paid for a ticket. The drinks also took forever to get out and we had already seen the first comedian by the time our first round came out. Our server seemed super overwhelmed which I get but the place wasn't even full and it was clear that someone needs to figure out a better way to run this place. The comedians were great, the service and management was terrible... we arrived at 5:30 so we had time to eat, we ordered food and drinks. The plan was for the whole table to share appetizers, we waited and waited, everyone around us got the food finally after the lights went down our food arrived. We had ordered loaded fries, we got plain fries so I told the waitress she was like " oh you're right" I just said no big deal plain fries are fine. I go to eat a fry it's completely uncooked. So I go out to the bar to talk with the manager, tell her my issues show her the fries and she agreed they were not cooked, I just requested for them to be removed from my bill because I didn't want them, I go sit down about 5 minutes later the waitress came to my table and said since my tab was "comped" she needed to take back the whole tables food and drinks. I had only asked for the fries that only one was eaten to be removed now my whole table while they were still eating had to had over their food and drinks. The waitress said if we wanted anything she would need to talk to the manager for us to get anymore food or drinks. I will never return to this location. We left the show early because we were so taken back at the manager disrespect and went somewhere else's for our dinner. read more

The past reviews of this place had me worried but my experience there the other night was awesome! We had a great waitress (Destiny) and that made all the difference. Food was hot and came out quickly. Recommend - Strawberry daiquiri and the pretzels. Chicken BLT and Quesadillas were also delicious! THERE IS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THIS PLACE. If I could give no starts I would!!!! This comedy club is located at the greene area, they charge 30 dollars a ticket just to watch the show, nothing included on this absurd price, that is the most i ever paid for a comedy club, not even in New York you will never have to pay this much for a comedy show. They ask you to come in early, so we did, we came in exacly one hour before the show, there was still the previous show happening. We sat at the bar for drinks and these drinks do not count toward your minimum 2 items inside so be cautious of that when coming to the bar while you wait for for the show, they not only don't count but also they are not cheap drinks either. As time gets closer to come in we notice a monstrous lone forming at the waiting area just to get in the comedy room. Soon enough therr is Mayhem at the outside to enter show, I am so buffled how the process to go inside the show room is amazingly slow and irritating, there is a endless line of people that get in the show area. The process is so slow that I almost walked out of this place. I was beyond irritated there are no words to dricfibe, I arrived one hour early and now I will be the last one to get in because they have a line for inside a bar area! They were late by 2 min to let the ppl in the show room, they said that the previous show ran later, what about us on the next show? Our show that was supposed to start at 10pm the doors were not even open for sitting yet..... At 2230 they are still working on people going inside the comedy room and I am frowning more and more annoyed. I now realize that you can't enjoy a drink at the bar before going in cause u should to camp in a line by the door of the comedy room.... just don't like this kind of disorganized environment. It kills all the fun of the Saturday night. It ruined my night legit. We managed to get in after 2250 and they had already started the show!!!!!! Even though because of their own fault the line was still going, they decided to start the show, making the remaining paying customers who were outside miss the 30 dollar a ticket show opening, they got some nerve!. The drinks arrived after 30 min wait and the food took over 50min to come out. I was so hungry that I could not even pay attention to what was going on around me, I did notice that they have 5 waiters for a room that could easily have 150 ppl. That is the reason why all took so long, they were clearly understaffed. Spent 40 dollars at the bar and inside another 23 dollars of mandatory spend for 2 items in the not so cheap food and drink menu. To top it off an employee with a ZZ Top woth length beard was serving food ... just down right unsanitary. I had a BLUE CHEESE AND BACON CHEESE BURGER - the meat was a bit over cooked, that was probably because of the rush that the kitchen is probably in as they have to cook all of this food super fast during the show and absolutely fail at it, they probably pre cook it and the when we order the gear it up thus taking up the juices and over cooking the meat to a rubber LOADED FRIES - This was the only item I kind of liked it here. This was a good serving of fries with some great flavors, this is a must with you are getting something that has fries on the side, definetly do that. The comedian in my opinion was a very specific comedian for a specific crowed and it was not at all for me, so not even that was good in the end of the day. In the end of this Saturday night is spend upwards of 90 to 100 dollars to just get out of there super irritated, this place is not worth the amount of money you will spend there, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

The Funny Bone does have great acts that come through, but how the place is set up is always a mess. Sometimes you get sat with you back to the stage and they always pack in everyone, so you better like your neighbor. The food is fairly decent, but on the expensive side and with like most comedy clubs there are minimum orders. read more

I know they were short staff so I was trying to be very patient, we sat down there was 4 of us, it took the server (who looked like he just crawled out of bed, he had yesterday dinner still on his shirt) forever to get out order, which was fine because I understand, but then our food came out before our drinks, which again wasn't that bad but then 2 of us ordered the club which had bacon that tasted like it was cooked yesterday and one had a bonus hair in it, the kicker is they added an 18% GRATUITY on the order after they had the nerve to charge 13.99 for just a club sandwich (no fries those were 5.99 extra! Food is over price, probably not going back there again! Had to ask for napkins, ketsup and mayo too! They need to just be a comedy club. The positive? I got to see Louis CK here!!! Talk about amazing!! But I doubt I'd jump through Funny Bone's hoops for any other comic they'd normally have. Definitely arrive early because the seating is first come first serve. Arriving early will get you a better seat, make it less likely that your party will be split up, mean you'll have a shorter line to wait in and will allow you plenty of time to order before the show so you can eat before the lights go down. There is a two order minimum. $35 got us a club soda, tonic water, nachos and a brownie a la mode. The food was grubby and just fine. But don't expect anything fancy people! Also, there is an automatic 15% gratuity. I've read other reviews that complain that service is slow....for us, this was not the case. We got everything pretty fast and had plenty of time to eat everything before the show. But once the show starts, the waiters only brought food. They no longer took orders. After the show kinda sucks because getting your check takes forever. Or at least it feels that way. So yup. That's funny bone. The comedians were great but this place absolutely sucks. Been here 4-5 times and its always slow but last night was the last straw. Seated at 2 minutes till 7...finally got our drinks at 7:51, almost an hour. I cancelled our food order at 8:30. That's an hour and half! At 8:45 they tried to bring the food which I refused, by the time I could have ate - during the headliner, his act would be over, and the staff didn't even care to come explain, apologize or even check on us during that time. Came here with 4 other friends and we were told the tables only seat 4 and we couldn't seat 5 at a table. We were prepared to split our party but we ended up sitting at a 8-top with just one stranger so it was fine. I'd recommend showing up early before doors are open so you're more likely to get seated together since they assign the tables as people walk in and you don't want to be stuck filling in the gaps at other people's tables. Once we were seated, there is a 2 item minimum even if you just buy a ticket for the show so we all ordered cocktails. The drinks were mostly ice and juice so they were tasty but you may want to order your alcohol neat if you want get a buzz going. The most frustrating aspect was the service though as it took 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive from the time we ordered (opening acts had already started and we showed up early). We then had to wait 10 minutes after the show had ended and people had left for the waitress to get around to running our cards. At one point they came back to confirm that I wanted to run the card after I had handed it to them 10 minutes earlier. There wasn't a problem or anything, they simply wanted to confirm... Setting the service aside, we really enjoyed the comedians and had no issues with the show itself. The lighting was good, the acoustics were clear, we didn't feel to crowded by adjacent tables and the stranger at our table was pleasant. It also seemed most tables had more competent waiters so I'm hoping we were the exception and the regular experience is better. H and I came to Funnybone on a Sunday evening. It was our first time ever going to this chain. To say the least, we were happily surprised (especially with the nation-wide reviews). I should preface this by saying we knew about the "two item purchase per guest rule" and planned our dinner at a local restaurant with this in mind. Once you get passed the ticketing agents (which took us almost 15 total minutes because an agent mistakenly put us at the 10pm showing instead of the 7:30pm... and she blamed my H!), it's a walk up the stairs where you'll find a bar. From what I understand, the purchases at this bar don't count toward your two-purchase minimum. Be wary! Upon walking into the showroom (or theatre? not sure what to call it), H and I were happily taken by the decent size of the room. We were even happier that we were basically facing center-stage and did NOT have to share our table with two extra patrons since we were a party of two. About the food- if anything, get the pretzels! There were a few comedians (the opening MC, two openers and the main act) and all of them were decently funny in their own respects. I wasn't wowed, but I wasn't expecting to be (H and I have gone to a few in NYC- they're hilarious there!) and therefore I was pleasantly content. My visit to the Funny Bone in Dayton occurred on a high volume night. Staffing seemed inadequate for the occasion. But I suspect this is not the norm. You pretty much know what you're getting with the Funny Bone chain of clubs. The room will be a little bigger than it should be, and ceilings will be too high. Comedy Acts Godfrey and the local guy Mark Gregory were phenomenal, look for good things to come for Mark. Now let's get to the food and drinks. We ordered a bucket of beer and were shocked that with those being in ice that they were a little warm and not cold. Server was great sfter asking the bartender to get us 2 chilled glasses since it was obvious he had heard this complaint before. We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel sticks which were nice and thick but the 3 sauces it came with were lacking. The bourbon butter had to be sent back because it was cold and the fat was already coagulating on top when it is supposed to be served warm, which we confirmed with our server. The beer cheese was barely warm so it's obvious it had been setting out awhile. And BBQ sauce as the 3rd sauce is an odd choice with pretzel sticks. The Chicken 3 Way that we ordered consisted of tenders, wings, and boneless wings and unfortunately they were all dry. We didn't even finish the basket and we are chicken lovers. There were 2 in our party yet we were still charged a 15% gratuity. Seriously? For 2 people. Unfortunately, I would suggest eating before you get there and just order drinks. I wasnt impressed with this funny bone location I've been too a few of them and I have to say this is the worst in my opinion. First they ask you to show up between 9:00pm and 9:30pm. We didnt get in until some time after 10:00pm. They had us in a crowded hallway where there was no air circulating and people was starting to get restless. Then once we were seated I order the bottomless soda because this was my two drink minimum that is required. I got one refill the server didnt come back not once to check on us. I had to hunt down another server to ask to find our waiter just to get a refill. They served people's food close to the show being over, so glad i didnt order food I would have been mad. The restrooms are clean, that's about the only plus. Overall the workers and servers have not been friendly when I've come a couple times. They definitely need to hire more bartenders to churn out drinks and more servers to deliver them. It would help a lot if they allowed you to get your own drinks at the front bar when entering. The room is way too cramped and it's easy to trip with the way tables are set up way too close. You constantly have people walking in front of you if you wind up in an aisle so hard to just enjoy show. I don't plan to come back - Wiley's has a much smaller, more intimate experience with a better server-to-patron ratio that's much more reasonable and quick. read more

When she finally graced us with her presence we all ordered double shot drinks because "you get a dollar off a shot when ordering a double". Little did we know we could've had two drinks for the same price as one with a double shot. Good deal? I think not. After spending $70 on drinks for two you'd think I'd be a sheet or two to the wind. I got tickets to see Nephew Tommy for the 4-4-20 show, at 7:30pm. Because of Covid 19 the show was cancelled. I have never been reimbursed for it. All they have is a recording when you call there. I bought the tickets 3-3-20. They have had more than enough time to reimburse my money. I am quite as angry about it. read more

The food is pretty good, but ridiculously over priced. A burger, fries, and one cocktail cost me $30 after the 15% gratuity that got forced on me despite me being alone. The drink was the same price as my food. When I asked for a glass of water, I was told they only served bottled water and they cost extra. To make matters worse, the Pop that I had ordered ran out pretty quick, and I never got a refill because I never saw my server again. Well, actually, my server walked passed my quite a bit, but never stopped to check on me. Which brings me to my next point. I came to the show alone because my girlfriend had to work. But because I didn't have anyone with me, they stuck me at some tall table in the corner. I'm a big dude, a very big dude. Sticking me on a tiny stool in a corner is far from comfortable. What's more, I had to sit at an angle to be able to see the stage. This proves to be problematic because where I was sat was also the in/out walkway for the bathrooms and the wait staff. So every couple of minutes, I had to turn or shift or move so people could get through. The waitstaff walking by carrying trays rarely adjusted themselves so I was constantly bumped by trays of food, and got several stains on the sleeve of my blazer as a result. The staff also chose to seat a young woman at my table with me without my consent, and the woman proceeded to talk during the whole show. Finally, the speakers for the show were hanging from the ceiling, but I was seated behind them, which meant a I could barely hear the show I paid a lot of money to attend. In the end, despite getting to see one of my favorite comedians, I felt like I have been cheated out of my evening by the poor seating arrangement of the club along with the blatant price gouging. read more

However, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! $8 Chili Cheese Fries with special ranch sauce - surprisingly delicious?! $14 Chicken Cordon Bleu - Again, surprisingly delicious! Although it wasn't made the way it was supposed to be. The chicken was grilled (not breaded), and the swiss cheese/ham was on top (not rolled up inside). It was served with a large eggplant and a bed of parboiled rice. The food was quite yummy O_o! ------- The comedy club was well decorated. This wasn't some dirty, cheap, slum-like comedy club like the ones I've been to in Los Angeles (Culver City) when Margaret Cho was touring. We had three extra comedians come up and "warm up" the audience before Paul Mercurio came on. And wow, he completely stole the audience. He was so funny, without the need to use too many sex jokes. :) My favorite one was of how black men have "Anacondas" between their legs and have to swing it around their shoulder to carry it around because it was too long... lawl. This is a good place to come for a date if your date can take a joke, or for a girl's night out in town. Dress casual to nice, but not formal.
