I just moved here from California and was looking on Yelp for a nail salon with good reviews when I came across a place called Westlake Nails Spa. Naturally, I decided to check it out. I was walking on Lenora St., following the listed address since it showed the salon should be there, but I ended up in front of a residential, gated building and honestly thought I was in the wrong place. I called the business, and they told me it was actually located in an open plaza behind the building. Since I was already standing right there and happened to get lucky when a man was coming out, I was able to go through the gate. Once I passed through, it was an open plaza, but I still couldn't find anything called Westlake Nails Spa. I saw a nail salon called "Funny Bunny Nails and Spa," but nothing with the name I originally searched for, so I had to call the business again to figure it out. That's when the same kind woman who answered the phone came outside to meet me and explained that they had changed the name, which is why I couldn't find it. Honestly, between the address leading to a residential building and the completely different name, I would have never found this place without her help. That being said, the experience itself was fantastic. BI did my nails, and he is absolutely amazing--attentive, detail-oriented, and clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. My nails turned out beautiful, and the whole experience felt relaxing and personalized. I'm so glad I ended up here and will definitely be coming back. This was the most expensive (~$80) and the worst pedicure I have ever had in my life. I was in town on a work trip and my co-worker recommended this place since they too had gone here the prior day and it was within walking distance. I walked in and had to wait about 15 minutes (not a problem at all). Once put in the chair the person doing my pedicure got started immediately so no problems there. Ok this might be TMI, but when I get a pedicure I am not just going to get a polish change and my nails clipped. I expect cuticle care (like get in there including ingrowns), exfoliation, and moisturizing. It very much felt like the person doing my nails (who also had on acrylics) was trying hard not to mess up their nails. They were so gentle it felt like a child was playing with my feet. The exfoliation didn't even feel like they tried to scrub my feet. Also, my toenail was filed at an angle. I remember sending a picture to my best friend after it was over. I was so disappointed, as soon as I got back home I got another pedi. I typically with gel polish pay around $65-70. read more

I am really disappointed by my recent service. I made an appointment for 11. I wasn't seen until 11:20. I was charged over 100 dollars for a the most uncomfortable pedicure. This included take off fee. I understand gel take offs when they are using acetone - however, they didn't do that. They just sanded away the old gel quickly and cut my cuticles twice until they bled in the process. The painting job was rushed and uneven. She forgot to shape my nails, I had to do it when I got home. I used to come here frequently but with this latest service, I don't think so. Also, there is one guy there with ridiculously long nails who also provides one of the worst pedicures. Do not waste your money or time. read more

I had to wait when I arrived bc they were very busy!, which is a good sign they're great Nail Techs! They are! My nails turned out awesome!!! The service felt noticeably impatient over a minor issue of needing some extra time to find a nail color (nail samples are very disorganized by the way). The response to needing a few more minutes was curt and rude rather than helpful, which was especially disheartening because I asked for help twice. I understand that things can get busy, but I would've liked to see some patience, especially because not everyone gets their nails done regularly and knows exactly what they want. Due to their rush, they BARELY grazed my feet with the pumice stone, and I came back to my feet not feeling any smoother. When I posted this review on Google, they responded back alleging that I spent 15 minutes picking out a new color after "multiple" colors were tested on my nails. None of this is true. Here's what actually happened: I picked 2 nail colors initially, one for my finger nails and another for my toe nails. The technician messed up by trying to paint my toe nail color on my finger nails on the first trial, which is why I asked her to remove the first color. Then, after realizing the way sheer looks on my skin tone and not liking it (keep in mind, I'm new to nails and dont get them done regularly so I was really hoping for a sliver of patience), she was not patient and responded rudely after I asked her for help in finding me a color that is similar the original one I selected but more opaque. Unfortunately would not go back and would not recommend. Both myself and my two friends had an unpleasant experience. My friend asked for a new sheer pink nail polish that was displayed on a sign, and another nail tech recommended she get white dip to make the color show better! When she noticed they were not putting the pink polish overtop, she asked if they were still doing that. They were gaslighting her that it's impossible to achieve that pink with a white base and they'd have to start all over again and kept trying to get her to switch to other colors, not what she originally asked for. They continued to make comments that she should have not gotten white underneath, when it was the suggestion from another nail tech. For my other friend, she showed the nail tech an ombré look and they kept saying no we can't do chrome we don't do chrome (incorrect as someone else was actively getting chrome). She switched to french manicure for the ease of the tech as clearly they just did not want to do an ombré look for her. After putting the base coat, she noticed they were not doing the blue French manicure (even though a photo was shown and on the table). She asked politely if it could be done as a French and they were gaslighting her that her acrylics were too short. Mine were significantly shorter, so I asked my nail tech if a French could be done and she said yes no problem. Another time we felt we were being lied to. Both of our French tips were inconsistent in shape, and it was the first time I've had one that you can see the white showing from the press on nail part underneath. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. This was a perfect example as to why people tend to not speak up at nail salons, as we were gaslight and lied to. Just got my nails done here for the first time. Immediately after the service, my nails hurt and I noticed multiple cuts on the cuticles surrounding nails right after the service. The service was quick but careless, and I had to ask for alcohol wipes for the cuts on my hand on the way out, one of which was bleeding. There are much better salons in Seattle that charge less (e.g., Queen Anne Nails & Spa for acrylics , and Ascend for everything else). read more

A bit cheaper than other places nearby but lower quality work and mixed experiences with staff. I came by with a friend for a dip mani and regular pedi, and despite having an appointment, we had to wait a while for our services. I understand that they were busy, but it is a business's responsibility to not accept too many appointments or walk ins at the same time. The staff was not friendly and acted a bit annoyed with us, and I seriously began to question if it was worth it. The pedicure itself was pretty decent, but pricier than what I saw online. If it was just the pedicure, I absolutely would've gone elsewhere, but not many places offer dip manicures and I wanted that more. The dip manicure was okay. The woman who did my mani was much friendlier and helped me understand the versions of the service they offered. Although I liked the color, I felt that my nails came out uneven, and the gloss has already started peeling off even though it has only been 3 days. In the end, you get what you pay for, and there's a reason why Funny Bunny is a bit cheaper. With my overall experience, I'd likely opt for elsewhere. read more

If I could leave 0 stars i would. The staff is very rude, dismissive & clearly lack listening skills. In my experience I was very clear, kind & concise on what I wanted & my expectations. I requested medium long tapered square & long stiletto tips were applied. Against my better judgment, i remained quiet & tried to trust the process. When they finally checked in & i let them know AGAIN what I wanted, the tips were moved aggressively. The entire appointment was uncomfortable both physically & environmentally. At checkout the total price was $183 (or something around that number) despite the prices of my individual services totaling $155. When i asked for clarification, not much if any was given despite the cost of gel (which even if included didnt equate to the total amount). Picking and choosing my battles, i paid & didnt tip (lets also mention the audacity to ask if i was leaving a tip). Please also note, i now have an infection on my pinky finger now requiring antibiotics following my encounter with this salon! I do NOT recommend. read more

The staff are always so nice, the facilities are clean and unlock other salons they stick with one customer at a time. I have always gotten their pedicures but I've seen some of the manicures others have gotten and I'm always tempted to add one to my pedicures. Pretty disappointed with my first experience here. Making an appointment online was easy, but after checking in at 5:45pm, I didn't get seated until 6:00pm. I just got the basic pedicure for $37, and there are 9 chairs available. I did like that they add the plastic bags around the tub for sanitary reasons, but the massage chair function didn't work on the chair I got. The employee helping me apologized and said they are getting it fixed next week. Since I already had my feet in the water, it didn't make sense to move chairs, but at least offering to change to a chair that worked would have been nice. Looking at the polish now, it's completely uneven. Even on my big toenail, the second layer doesn't align with the edge of my toenail. I had some peeling skin on the bottom of my toe that didn't get scrubbed off either. There seemed to be a good amount of people that had appointments in addition to walk ins, and they close at 7:00pm. My pedicure definitely felt rushed, and I can tell some employees were rushing with others too in order to accommodate as many people as possible. When I was done with the final top coat, the employee tried to rush me to wait 10 minutes in one of the seats, but I asked if I could just stay in the chair, given that most of the chairs were empty anyways. She seemed annoyed and said "okay just 10 minutes" and didn't check on me after. Not worth coming back in my opinion, I probably could have just done the same and saved some money. read more

I got a gel removal and regular polish manicure for $40. The atmosphere is clean, and they properly sterilize all nail equipment. The technicians are also really nice. I chose this salon because it's more conveniently located compared to my usual salon. My bare nails were a bit weak due to prior gel manicures. I wanted a regular polish manicure to let my nails rest a bit. My nail tech was very gentle with the hard gel removal using a drill bit, but I think the surface of my nails ended up a bit bumpy. I did like the way she shaped my nails, though. Originally, I picked a sheer pink nail polish (Bubble Bath). However, my nail tech had trouble getting the polish to look smooth, partially because of the gloopy nail polish formula and also because my nails were slightly lumpy from the gel removal. My nail tech had me pick a new color, which I had no issue with. So I picked a more opaque cream color, and from a distance it looks fine, but closer up, the tips of my nails still look a bit sloppy. By this point, the salon got busier, so I was asked to sit in the waiting area. A different nail tech finished off the top coat while I sat in the waiting area seats. Overall, I'm a pretty understanding person, so I didn't mind this, but I just felt rushed. Because I come to get my nails done to relax, this rushed feeling impeded my overall experience. Also, my cuticle was nicked. Again, not a big deal, but I would only come back here if I was in a hurry and can't get an appointment at my normal salon. read more

My daughter and I were in town to pick up my other daughter from college and needed our 3 week old gel-x nails removed. I lost one nail on the plane ride in so wanted it done soon. This salon was the most convenient one nearby and I figured it should be fine with 3.5 stars and it looked nice and clean. They were able to get us both in right away and that was perfect. That's all that was perfect. We were trying to look at the limited color choices and Martin, though nice, was literally hovering over me and rushing me. Then he would not let me pick a dip color nearly batting them away from my hands and kept telling me no. We showed them and told them my daughter wanted the same metallic white she currently had on and they gave her pearly pink. At least my daughter's nails came out looking good. I rushed (because Martin made me hurry up as he gently pushed my shoulder towards the nail station) and opted for a glittery sheer ocean blue sample and wound up with crooked, lumpy nails with a heavy glittery blue. Also, my nail tips are now rounded on one side and square on the other side on each nail. Check out the picture below and enlarge it. Also, Matin kept bending and squeezing my fingers too much to where it hurt a bit. The lady doing my daughter's nails kept asking if anything hurt as she moved along and I appreciated that. The quality of work is inconsistent. Additionally the LED machine was malfunctioning and actually hurt to where I had to yank out my hands several times. Martin also got polish on the part of my finger closest to my hand and then tried to file it off, but it's still there. Who knows why he just didn't use polish remover?! Also, he was very sloppy with the acetone when removing my gel-x nails, nearly splashing it in my face. We won't be back in future trips. I do not recommend this nail salon. The customer service was bad. My soles of my feet were burnt when they used the hot wax. The nail technician did it on purpose as I did not like the way she did my pedicure and was asking her to correct as she was doing them. This place is way too overpriced and make sure you look at what you're paying for. I paid a total of $120. I did a gel French pedicure and my acrylics were already done they just needed some reshaping and only paid $30 for those. Still not sure how my total was $120 and how my pedicure was $90. I have never paid that much for a pedicure, especially given that I did not like it and the french tip looks bad. They definitely overcharged my friend and I. I will not be returning. read more

Mind you they were busy so I completely understand but some sort of acknowledgment would have been appreciated. I proceeded to be seated in one of their massage chairs 30 mins past my appointment. The massage chair gave a thorough massage which was needed to calm my growing annoyance. The lady who did my pedicure was named T- I believe, she was so sweet and chatty. I've been going to Funny Bunny for about 1 year now. I've been nearly a dozen times. I've used them as an in between for my normal nail tech who does a lovely job, but has gotten busier and I typically like to book within a couple days, or same day as needed more often than not. I have regretted going to Funny Bunny more often than not. While most of the staff is lovely, the quality is rarely as it should be. But it's brushed off with the typical over compliments of your nails while being done even though there are visible issues, drill burns etc. There is one woman who I'm assuming is the manager, is extremely unprofessional and immediately combative. She is by far the rudest person I've interacted with. She will immediately blame you for any mistake they make or issue with quality you address. I'm not a nail tech, but I do know my nails and I've been getting my nails done for over 5 years now very regularly. I get acrylic primarily, but have also done gelx a ton. I have been to many salons. I know when a drill bit is burning me. I know when the polish was not applied well, I know when the shape is chunky, or uneven. No nicety from the nail tech will diminish that. She refuses to take responsibility for any of these issues and will resort to yelling at you instead of fixing the issue. I recently had builder gel with jelly nail polish done at their salon. While the tech was very nice, the nails were lumpy, the polish was not applied well. My nail broke hours later. I paid $80 for this awful set and experience, $100 with tip because the manager HOUNDS you for tipping. I got them fixed at another salon to avoid the negative interaction I know I'd have with the combative manager who takes zero responsibility for very obvious poor work. I shouldn't keep giving them a chance, that's on me. They very obviously stand by their poor work and poor communication skills. Please just wait the extra time, and book elsewhere. Save your nails. I got their gel nails twice, but they never lasted more than a week and a half without lifting or chipping. I also tried dip nails, but the first transparent layer (or top gel?) started peeling after just two days. On top of that, they looked very chunky. Also, the staffs are not so professional and I felt uncomfortable at this salon. One time, I had my nails done by a middle-aged male staff member, and he was quite rude. He was talking to the other staff while filing my cuticles with an electric drill, and at one point, he pressed the drill against the skin on my hand near my wrist ON PURPOSE. I don't speak their language, so I couldn't understand what they were saying, but they were laughing as he pressed the drill against my skin near my wrist, which I found very rude and uncomfortable. It didn't hurt, but it left a white scratch (or dry mark?), which I felt was completely unnecessary and almost like I was being made fun of. This salon is located just near the westlake ave and very convenient, so it might be good for some people but it was not for me. read more

Out of the 3-4 times I've visited, I think there was one instance where they were running late. The staff are super friendly and they do a great job with my acrylic fill. Most recently, Jon was doing my nails and he made sure to remove a nail that was starting to separate and create an annoying gap. In terms of the salon itself, it's nothing to write home about, but it's clean and not crammed. It's always bustling with friendly staff and lots of customers.
