I brought my old dachshund in after speaking with Megan via email about what I was hoping to have done. Her responses were fast, friendly, and thorough, and she made me feel comfortable about leaving my dog with her. Speaking of my dog... Sadie is 13 years old and quite the grouchy old lady. Her nails were horribly overgrown and I was too nervous to clip them myself. On top of that, she doesn't like to have her paws touched too much (in hindsight, maybe they were hurting her because of her freakishly long talons). After dropping her off, I was fully prepared to receive a phone call about how unruly Sadie was being and that her nails couldn't be done. That particular call never came. The only call I did receive was from Megan letting me know that Sadie was ready to be picked up. I couldn't believe it. She didn't chew anyone's face off? She wasn't being expelled for bad behavior? Nope! I arrived and found my old girl soft and fluffy. Her nails were even ground down much shorter than I thought they could be! In a good way! I received a report card detailing everything that Megan did and how Sadie reacted. Knowing Sadie is sometimes a little rotten (but I love her to pieces anyway), I consider Megan a miracle worker for getting her to cooperate! Megan has a true gift! If you're looking for a fantastic groomer, all of these 5-star reviews don't lie! Super happy with Megan and Fur Kids. I brought my two mini schnauzers to her for a very modified schnauzer cut and they came back looking perfect. Now, when I say "modified schnauzer cut" I mean I told her "short on the body and legs, we like to keep the brows and beards, but they have a problem with hair wrapping around their teeth so something needs to be done there, but I still want them to look like schnauzers somehow. And we only have them groomed 3-4 times a year so I don't want them to be too crazy long in 3-4 months." She managed to figure out exactly what they needed, AND did it well. My boys aren't young, they've been through their fair share of groomers over the years and this was one of their best haircuts. They have no random mohawks, no clipper marks, NO nicks, and even their ears look good. One got his teeth brushed, the other had recent dental surgery to remove most of his teeth and was still tender but she did a great job working around his sensitivity. They also had nail grinding and ear plucking. The charge was only $7 more per dog than I've been paying, and the previous groomer was only washing and trimming, no nails/teeth/ears and the trim wasn't as good. It's a fair distance from me (~20min) but worth the drive. The facility itself is also very nice and clean, which I really appreciated. read more

We brought our two (pretty disgusting) farm dogs to Megan praying for a miracle. Megan managed to turn our two yuck monsters into super clean, super cute, cuddle bugs. She was incredibly patient with both me and my fur babies. She was very careful to be very clear on exactly what type of cut I wanted (down to the 1/8 of an inch). Most impressive is that my furry friends left there smelling clean - not that sickly perfumey smell most other groomers use, but actually just clean. I couldn't be happier with Megan, and my pups are happy that they are now itch free. The fact is that I can't seem to keep my hands off their super soft fur (who knew?). These guys did a great job with my Shiba Inu. I felt like the customer service was great on all accounts and they obviously love dogs. My pup normally hates the groomer and often gets muzzled but they were able to soothe him with pets and kind words. I read a ton of reviews on other local grooming sites and while some had mediocre ratings - some of the bad reviews were horrific and made me anxious altogether. Kelly the groomer here took top notch care of Max and was very communicative and gave a great grooming. The whole process was really smooth and she really bonded with Max and gained his trust. This was the third groomer we tried for our Golden Doodle and our Aussie Doodle. I guess the third time is the charm. My husband and I have been very happy with the grooming service. The dogs look great when we bring them home. The staff has always been very nice, and you get notified if they need shot records updated prior to your appointment. I was looking for a new groomer that was a little closer to home and I found Fur Kids Grooming. However, the cut my Shih Tzu got was terrible and I will never go back again. My dog didn't need that much done just a trim and a good bath. The cut was so uneven that I had to correct their error by booking an appointment with another groomer. There were small mats by the his ears instead of working with those mats the just cut them out and it has taken over 8 weeks for them to look normal. The nails weren't cut, tear stains weren't touched, hair left in the ears, and list goes on. I am sure it were friends that wrote their great reviews. I know am hesitate to use yelp at all in the near future. read more

While my dog's cut looked great, I am going to keep looking for a different groomer. I did not like having to drop her off at 8 AM and not have her done till 3 pm. She peed a lot when she came out and immediately drank a lot of water when I got home. She also had poop all over her backside when I picked her up. I had to wash her off at home. Thinks makes me wonder how long she was left in a crate and if she was even let out. This was my first time coming here and I had questions, but the lady at the front was on the phone the entire time with her back to me. Overall, the pros did not outweigh the cons. Today was my first trip to Fur Kids Grooming with my two dogs. As we walked in, I could instantly feel a warm, friendly, positive vibe. They loved on my dogs immediately as if they'd known us for years. I felt like I was dropping my kids off at summer camp rather than dropping my dogs off for a grooming appointment. Upon returning, they both looked perfect, cut just as we'd discussed. My dogs actually seemed happy to still be there, rather than the typical desperate bolt for the exit at previous groomers.
