One of the worst customer service experiences I have had. The owner is very rude and childish. Called. No answer. Voicemail asks you to text her. Texted her. No response. I get a text from her an hour after she left the Google review reply you see below. The text was: "I'm sorry we are closed on Sundays and Mondays, and seeing you already left a negative review, we won't be able to help you further. Have a good week." Haha. How childish. 2 minutes after she left the review reply I changed it to 5 stars and added the text "changed review since owner replied" I'm glad she showed how unprofessional she is before I gave her my dogs, or business! read more

Had appointment scheduled from 2-4pm and was able to get squeezed in early, which was the first awesome part of appointment. My cat's first experience at a groomer in Georgetown that shall remain nameless, was horrifying. My wee kitty came back traumatized due to a large dog that barked the whole appointment, they didn't get her tail, and charged me for teeth cleaning and nail clipping that they never did. My cat would not come out from under bed except to eat for several days. I decided to take one more chance on a grooming but upgrade to a mobile groomer hoping it would ease the anxiety and remove any other pet from scaring her. There must have been some miscommunication between the scheduler and the actual groomer, Crystal. When she got to house, she was caught off-guard by the shaving being for a cat, as I know they are more difficult to groom. But she took it like a customer service champ, went to calm my kitty and got straight to work. This is my first review because this was such a good job, and my wee kitty went right back to playing with her doggie mates and seemed to have had no issue with her appointment. Her teeth were cleaned and her nails perfectly clipped. But I have to say having had cats in the past shaved, this is the best grooming job I've ever seen. Crystal did exactly as I asked expertly so. She doesn't care about her customers. She is always late and never gives you a heads up - ever - like you're just available to wait around your house for hours upon hours and have no life to attend to. However, today she decided ( after confirming with me and being the one to suggest this time ) that she wouldn't show up at all and wouldn't respond to any of my messages asking for an ETA or any type of update. I wasted my entire Saturday waiting around for her and she couldn't even text me back to inform me that she wasn't coming. Her grooms are not even close to being that good to take this type of customer service- especially considering the crazy high rates she charges. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. It was honestly worse than dealing with the cable company. I received a text first thing in the morning from the groomer. My appointment was set between 10 - 11. I responded immediately and told her I'd need to leave by 11:15 and checked to see if the timing would work. This was my first mobile grooming appointment and I didn't know how long it would take. I didn't receive a response until 10:30 saying she wouldn't arrive until 11 because of traffic. I responded saying that we'd have to reschedule and inquired about availability the next day. Then, I received several very rude and unprofessional texts from the business owner calling me "inconsiderate" and telling me I should have read the website and their cancellation policy. I'm a business owner too and I make sure to communicate all my policies, particularly to new customers. I also treat them with kindness and dignity, regardless of the situation. It's pretty telling when the grooming technician is more professional than the person in charge. I will definitely take my business elsewhere and recommend you do too. FOLLOW-UP: The business owner has continued to send me rude text messages despite me asking her to stop contacting me twice. She also said I should be apologetic and is upset about this review. Brandi at Bark Avenue Mobile Groomer is amazing with my pitbull who technically despises getting groomed. I used to take him to Petsmart but he would shake to death in fear and I hated that it would always take 3-4 hours. Brandi comes to the house and it takes no more than 20 min for a bath/dry/nail trim. He adores her and I would recommend this place 100%. I also have 2 miniature daschunds that are 16 years old and she was so gentle with them as well. It's very hard to find a good place to bathe them since they are so delicate. The very average grooming job doesn't come close to making up for the awful customer service experience with Bark Avenue. I chose them because of the [mostly] good reviews, and I got on a bimonthly schedule with them. About 20 minutes before the first appointment I got a text from the groomer that she would be an hour and a half late! That's right - 1.5 hours! I decided to keep the appointment even though we were cutting it close to dinner plans. An hour and a half goes by and...no groomer. At one hour and 45 minutes, I texted her not to come because we were going to be late for dinner but she pulled up as I was sending the text. I let the groomer go ahead and take care of it because she seemed sincerely sorry and I didn't want her to get in trouble with her boss. Because of the good reviews and the fact that the business is local, you'd think that I would hear from the owner. Nope. Two hours later I texted them about what happened. It took another 3.5 hours to hear from them. The text essential gave me an excuse and said, "We will try to be much better in the future." Maybe my expectations are too high, but this semi-apology was not enough. I responded that I can appreciate that these things happen but given that it was my very first experience with them and I was about to sign up with them for twice a month for (hopefully) many years, I would like to have some kind of compensation as a show of good faith. A free tooth-brushing, 20% off the next session - something that says, "We are going to show you that this is atypical for us and we won't let it happen again." And, not surprisingly, I haven't heard back. Customer service is crucial for me especially when the whole point of paying the extra cost is for convenience. read more

I don't know where to begin, other than this Unprofessional girl showing up early to the appointment, following me back into my bedroom, w/o invite to retrieve my Schnauzer. My Schnauzers are the sweetest, most lovable on the planet, and will lick you to death, and yet they were immediately afraid of HER. She started feeling her all over, then try to put a leash on her, tugging at her. I knew my pup had mats, but my shampoo usually gets most of it out, and then the rest , you brush out. I wanted her schnauzer skirt to be left on, but when she came walking out, it was HORRIBLE. Her hair was all different lengths, but mostly shaved down to nothing ALL OVER, legs included. Her eyes were blood shot red, like she got shampoo all in them. She also has a pea size bump, that you can feel where her anal glands would be. So I don't know what she did to cause that! It wasn't there a few days ago, when I expressed her glands. My dog's personality has changed, and she wouldn't look at us, or want to be near us for 2 days now! The anxiety that she caused my dog is horrible, and I had to write this so it won't happen again to someone else's furbaby. I was supposed to have had our male schnauzer done as well, but as she leashed him up, and started to drag him out, she stated that she would muzzle him if he got nippy. I don't mind him being muzzled to protect everyone, but she wanted to charge $20 EXTRA in addition to the outrageous cost of his bath and tidy. The females "Full Groom" was $92.10. I've paid $120 for all 3 of of my Schnauzers to be groomed at another place, and they came out looking like show dogs. Thank goodness, I at least rescued my male before he received his bath from this woman! They MAY have some professional groomers working there, but SHE isn't one of them! read more

Bark Avenue came to my apartments (Oaks at Techridge) for a couple of hours today. I brought my timid cattle dog over, so she could be spoiled. She's very very nervous around new humans, and while it she struggled at first, the staff was able to get her to walk right into the truck and into the tub. They were able to keep her calm and groom her right up! I've had my cattle dog for 2 and a half years, and have been hesitant to ever take her to be groomed due to her anxiety, but now i know who I can go to and trust to take care of her grooming needs! This is the WORST grooming place I've ever used. The reason we wanted to try a mobile groomer is so that our dogs would not have to sit in a cage and they could do one dog at a time. The groomer they sent out was totally unprofessional and most certainly not a "dog friendly" person. He was gruff and insisted that he take all three dogs in the truck and bathe them all together. The other two had to sit in the bathtub in the hot trailer while he cut the first dog's hair. Meanwhile, the door was left wide open with not even a safety gate if they accidentally got loose. For $88 per dog, feel like he could have done one at a time as we asked. To make a long and horrible story short, he got to the second dog, cut half her hair, got into a snit and left without even touching the third dog. Had to run down to Petsmart and buy some clippers to finish the half cut pup. Brandy sounded great on the phone but she sent this lame guy instead. Do yourself and your dogs a favor and do not use this company. I will be contacting the BBB to file a complaint right away. read more

The groomer cut our dog's paw badly enough to send us to the vet and the owner made it a horrible experience to get reimbursed. She required me to send pictures and give her my vet's contact information to confirm I was not lying. She was very rude and condescending in her communication. We called Bark Avenue for help with our 6 month old Bouvier. I didn't expect them to really know how to groom a Bouvier but Brandi has vast experience with such a huge variety dogs, she actually knew what to do with our Clover! She is going to teach us how to care for her coat and maintain it well between grooming visits. Brandi and Logan both handled Clover (who is stand-offish with new people) so well, Clover had her tail wagging within minutes of meeting. Brandi is an open and honest person with a deep passion for animals. She loves what she does and it shows. She had great communication and was willing to be flexible with our schedule. Our neighbors have used Brandi for years, I have seen her truck parked in front of my house for the two years that I have lived here, I am kicking myself for not using her sooner for our other dog!! Bark Avenue is by far the BEST mobile groomers I have ever had! My dog had spinal surgery last summer and he's still very sensitive around his back. His regular groomer of 5 yrs didn't want to groom him anymore after that. So that left me searching for a new groomer. Someone who could be gentle with him (he's a squirmy little guy) and someone who wouldn't yank on his leash and leave rope burns; it's happened before. Tiffany was so great with him. She went above and beyond what I expected. He was happy and playful afterwards and that's the first time since his surgery that he's been relaxed with a groomer. I started using Bark Avenue over 7 years ago when we had a male Yorkie with all kinds of health issues that made it very difficult to leave him at a groomer in town all day long. Brandi was the only groomer I trusted with him. She understood his conditions and that he was probably not going to be the best client!!! She has always been kind and honest with me and has become like part of our family. We now have two different dogs one being a 130 lb Alaskan Malamute. Both my pups love and adore Brandi and her assistants. They love my pups as if they were their own which is incredibly important to me. They are also very good at their job......grooming!!!
