I requested a quote from Opus after a referral. Nezhdeh came out on Feb 25th to measure the area I…read moreneed covered for dance floor. After a week of no follow-up communication or quote I called to make sure everything was ok and verify if he still wanted the job. He stated on March 3, 'apologies for the delay. I will work on it today.' 9 days later nothing. As a professional tell me you don't want the job. Congratulations for being so overwhelmed in business.

Even when I added extra furniture the week of they were super accommodating which I appreciated -- but there were a few hiccups along the way. The day before we were given a delivery window - they showed up about 2 hours early, and I was not home yet to meet them. Not knowing anything about what I needed my husband told them to put everything in our backyard. I came home to a stack of high top chairs about 12-14feet high and plastic wrapped. I know this is how they travel, but it would have been nice if they were left in more realistic stacks. Even on a stepping stool I wasn't tall enough to get them unwrapped and down. Then when night came about 2-3 pieces weren't lighting up. I called the next day (the day of the event) and thankfully they were able to send a friend who was coming this way out to replace the pieces. She was super helpful and lovely. As frustrated as I was that pieces weren't working, this extra effort really helped. But then after the party the following Monday the delivery crew again showed up hours early. They didn't even let us know they were there, they just let themselves into our yard took the furniture and left. Had they come when scheduled and let me know they were here I had tip money for them! While I appreciate them not asking for the tip I don't think they should just silently take the furniture. I had a heart attack when I saw it was gone and then had to check the cameras to confirm it wasn't stolen. Also what if our dogs were in the yard? Next time, definitely let people know you're there! Also knocking off one more star because by 10 pm (and the furniture was turned on at about 5:50) 3 more pieces had died and were no longer lighting up including one of the pieces that was replaced that morning. I'm glad the party was full so no one really noticed, but since I paid for light up furniture it was disappointing to have so many issues with it .

He was very quick to answer my inquiries via Yelp message, and has very affordable prices (his prices were the best, when I did a comparison to other rentals in my area). I had to make a last minute change in the number of heaters that I needed for my party the day of the event and he was very understanding and accommodating. When I met up with him in person, he was very kind, and professional in helping us load the heaters onto the back of our truck. He was also very prompt when we made appointments with him to both pick up and drop off the equipment. I'd highly recommend VIP Party Shop and would do business with him in the future.

These machines were reserved for me. A day before, I asked to cancel my helium tank and he called immediately to tell me that he "loses money" on these cancellations. So he promptly informed me that he'll be cancelling my order citing "unavailable machines". This is the day before my event. Very unprofessional to be cancelling a deal last minute like this. If the machines were really unavailable, then why wait to inform me AFTER I requested to cancel? A professional would've let me know way earlier. Either way, I ended up booking with Manny for the same price but for only 2 machines. I'd rather pay extra for someone who cares about professional relationships. Panda restaurant group will not be booking with vip ever again.

Partyworks Interactive is my only "Go To" business for party rentals…read more My daughter's high school marching band was scheduled to have a trunk-or-treat after band practice, and I wanted to add a little something different to the experience. I contacted Partyworks Interactive. Not having any idea what I wanted to do, yet still make the school event fun, Partyworks Interactive owner Eric Elkaim suggested something fun and straightforward. A large, inflatable Frankenstein. I immediately loved the idea. I drove and picked up the large inflatable, extension cord, and small air blower. When we arrived at the school to set things up, it took two of us to set up the large inflatable and have it ready within twenty minutes. Once up and secured against a chain link fence, the large Frankenstein was a HUGE (no pun intended) hit! Kids, the band students, and parents alike took pictures and videos around, in front of, and near this big guy all night long. Thank you, Partyworks Interactive, for helping make our event fun and memorable.

Eric called me to confirm the cancellation, and instead of a professional exchange, I was met with the most appalling words ever said to me by a vendor. Or by anyone on this planet, for that matter! "F**k you," --after we tried all week to confirm details --"sit and spin on it." "Sit and spin on it" !!!! I haven't heard that since middle school, and even then, it wasn't directed at me! Terrible customer service is one thing, I think this may be a case of an unchecked TBI or mental illness. I am still trying to understand where this level of rage came from. I feel sorry for his staff. Poor, sweet Theresa even called me the day before, trying to salvage our order. When I updated her of this exchange, she sighed and said she couldn't comment. She sounded sad on the phone, and apologized for his actions. Surely this is something that happens on the regular. I hope he never talks to her this way, but terrorizing women seems to come easy to Eric Elkaim! Eric, it's fine that you will note this in my "file". There are a thousand inflatable rental houses in LA, and a DIY mud pit was $2000 cheaper :)
