FurnSaj Bakery and Restaurant near Calabasas is a Mediterranean spot that really delivers on flavor and freshness. The portion sizes were amazing--we left super full and with leftovers. The inside of this place has this industrial-meets-cozy vibe with plenty of seating, which made it feel relaxed and welcoming. The music was playing a little loud at first, but when we asked if they could turn it down, they kindly did, which we really appreciated!! The menu was massive in the best way--so many choices! From wraps and plates to breakfast options, it took us a few minutes just to narrow things down. Everything we ordered was super fresh and beautifully seasoned. It's a little on the pricey side, but the generous portions make up for it. Honestly, it felt like a good value for what you get. It's the kind of place that works for a casual lunch or a laid-back dinner. Great for groups, but also easy to stop by solo.

You definitely have to try it 10/10!! The pancakes and chilaquiles are to die for absolutely delicious everything! 100% recommend !!!

Was yelping for something different and found this. I was a hungry hippo after seeing the menu and ordered a little binge fest for myself #1 totally will order Adjarski any time I come back, that was my favourite. I missed this after I finished it. So hella good! #2 spinach pie . This was great hot and cold for the next day. It held up great I'm the fridge for a few days to snack on. Great bread. Would buy again. 3# soujouk with cheese flat bread. It was good, kinda oily due to the sausage. Taste great following day and the bread is very delicious. Would try other flat breads. #4 kafta hummus was great and filling. # 5 Lamb gyro plate was very filling and made for multi meals. I happen to talk to owner/ manager, very friendly & knowledgeable of menu, and gave great suggestions. They have a very extensive menu, so coming hungry is dangerous but very rewarding. Would definitely come back. Plenty parking in the front

What a tasty place to eat. My son and I were driving through the area and stopped by FurnSaj for a meal of flatbread and falafel - both super delicious! For the falafel plate, I got fries and hummus as sides. The fries were crispy and warm, with just the right amount of seasoning. The hummus was a huge dollop and was very smooth and tasty! The Mediterranean flatbread was also very good. Hot, but not scalding. Cheese was good, and the tomatoes and olives added just a perfect amount of kick to each bite. The restaurant is pretty clean with plenty of seating. They've got some baked goods as well, and fountain drinks/water/etc. There's also a bathroom. Service is pretty standard. I can see the parking lot getting full with a lot of other businesses around the area. It's a great place to stop!

Inedible. I hate saying that about food but it's the only way to describe it. I'm not sure what kind of oil they're mixing their Zaatar with but it tastes and smells like car oil. It lingers on your tongue and has this super strong gross old oil taste. Funny enough, my mom tried the first bite and made a disgusted face and I told her "c'mon it's Zaatar, how bad can it be?" Well, apparently it can be really bad. Literally couldn't finish my one slice. Tried to give this place another chance but unfortunately it's fallen off, will never be stepping foot again and definitely don't recommend that you do either.

Came here with about 15 friends for lunch. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their food. I got the beef shawarma plate. I was first in line (of about 15 of us) to order my food, but my dish came out last. I waited about 40 minutes for my food. Don't know if it was sitting under the warmer for a long time waiting to be delivered to our table, but the beef was dry, oily, and overcooked. I took two bites and asked for a to go container. I also got the mint yogurt drink. Refreshing.

Got some to go food for the family while in the area. Always flavorful and delicious. Got beef kyafta wraps and the kids loved it. Called and placed an order and it was ready within 15 minutes. Great customer service as well. Done in is nice here. Great patio area.

Used to love this place, but their prices have gotten ridiculous. I don't care how good the food may be , your food is over priced.

We each ordered the chicken kabobs (called something else on the menu). It came with 2 sides and we each ordered the tabouli and rice. I also ordered tzatziki and they served us 2 good sized pieces of freshly made pita. The chicken was marinated and grilled perfectly. I usually eat 1/2 and take home the rest. I ate every bite. We both enjoyed our choices. I'm not a big garlic sauce person, but my friend loved it and cleaned her serving cup. Our waitress gave each of us a baklava finger, for dessert. No charge. We received excellent service, from the hostess to the waitress. They also have 2 bakery counters so my friend ordered some baklava fingers to go and plans on returning to try some more goodies. Overall, we had a 2 hour catch up lunch and a really tasty meal, without being rushed. I will be back.

I particularly love their hot appetizer plate that includes the cheese rolls and kibbeh. Unfortunately their service and dining experience recently has made me question if I'll be back again. Their space is very small so a table for 6 people is really uncomfortable. On top of that, their serving dishes are massive and the service staff is unaware how to put the dishes on the table because the table is so small. There were only 2 people waiting tables which caused for a lot of frustration from the staff. They also rarely stopped by our table to clear out plates which again we needed some plates gone because tables were so small. Recommendation, more people need to work at the front and y'all need bigger tables. A $330 meal (which included $50 service charge) where the service was rough was not worth.

I am very big on looking at food photos before choosing a restaurant, and the owner had posted so many great pictures that we decided to give Monaia a try. I only wish the photos included the names of the dishes, especially for anyone who may not be familiar with Lebanese food. I went with my husband and my in-laws, and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. When my husband asked our waiter if there was anything we absolutely had to try, he told us we had already chosen everything he would have recommended! We shared the Muhammara, Cheese Rolls, Fried Kibbeh, Makanek (Lebanese Sausage), Arayess, Kibbeh Nayyeh, and the Mixed Grill. My mother-in-law loved the Fattoush Salad, and since I love cheese, the Cheese Rolls were an easy favorite for me. I also ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, which was delicious. They finished our meal with some homemade Baklava- which was a great sweet treat! One thing that really stood out was the Toum (Lebanese garlic sauce). I've had garlic paste at quite a few Mediterranean restaurants over the years, but this was hands down the most flavorful version I've ever had. I ate it with everything on the table! The service was good, and everyone was very friendly. They were preparing for a large crowd arriving around 2:00 p.m., and it was wonderful to see every table begin filling up, especially since this is a newer restaurant. They also did a beautiful job decorating the space. I loved all the photos on the walls, and even the bathroom felt warm, homey, and thoughtfully decorated. We will definitely be back! If you're looking for authentic, delicious Lebanese food with a welcoming atmosphere, Monaia is absolutely worth a visit.

So glad I finally got to stop by many years later for dinner! Parking was easy (on a weeknight). Plenty of street parking and many open meters but I can see it being very difficult on weekends. Bake in some time to find parking! There's both indoor and outdoor seating at this location. This inside is cozy and there's a second room for additional seating. I went on a Thursday night and it was slammed. They do not take reservations but they do have a waitlist via toast that you can join while you walk around and wait for your table. Plenty to do and see on 2nd street. We ordered the party platter for 4 people! It was the perfect amount of food with leftovers to take home. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly! It was very packed so it was slow at times but understandably so. They come by and give you orange blossom water for your hands post meal - what a treat! We smelled amazing! NO NOTES FOR OPEN SESAME! I have to come back with more friends! We did have an issue but it was with another patron who had the audacity to yell at my table (while I was in the restroom) for "having too much fun"?!?! This is a public restaurant and it was loud as hell in there because it's tight and everyone talks over each other, not to mention the open kitchen. The energy in the restaurant is exciting and frenetic. If you want a quiet dinner f*cking STAY HOME and leave the streets to those of us who have had a WEEK and want to enjoy a fun dinner with friends. We will be back and we will have even MORE FUN, xoxo.
