We've been going to Furn Saj in Calabasas since they first opened and love that it is closer for us than the location in Granada Hills. It is definitely one of our favorite local spots. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and we love seeing one of the owners working hard behind the counter - it really shows how much they care about their business and customers. My husband and I hadn't visited since the beginning of the year, so we were pleasantly surprised to see some upgrades during our recent visit. Their dishes are now served on actual plates, complete with beautiful gold-colored silverware. It may seem like a small detail, but it really elevates the dining experience compared to having everything served in paper wrappers. Great decision! The food is consistently delicious, and the restaurant has a large outdoor patio with plenty of space, making it a fantastic location for parties, celebrations, or larger gatherings. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. When I arrived, I observed a kitchen employee lying down on one of the benches and taking a nap in the dining area. This was very unusual and not professional. More concerning, my wife and I ordered a salad, and shortly after eating, both of us developed stomach pain and diarrhea within a few hours. Based on the timing and symptoms, we strongly suspect the food may have been the cause. I contacted the restaurant the next day and spoke with a staff member (name starting with "A"). She took my number and said management would call me back. No one followed up. I called again a few days later, and was told the same thing -- still no response. It has now been about a month with no communication or resolution. Very disappointed with both the food quality and the lack of customer service. I would not recommend. read more

I love this place more and more every time I come here. Had the Saroukh cheese boat this time along with the lamb gyro plate for my wife and lamb gyro wrap for myself. Everything was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The cheese boat is simple yet spectacular. I'll get that again for sure. The bread itself is addicting. You can tell it's freshly made. We also had grape leaves and baclava (both perfect). We kind of over ordered but we had plenty left over for another full meal for the both of us. The woman working the counter was very nice and helpful. We ate there this time and the dining room and restrooms were both very clean. We needed a restaurant for breakfast with our son, daughter-in-law, and 7 year old grandson. FurnSaj has been showing up a lot in my Instagram feed, so we thought we would give it a try. FurnSaj is located just off Agoura Road and Las Virgenes and shares a parking lot with other businesses, most notably the Calabasas outpost of Erewhon. They have an extensive menu that leans heavily toward Lebanese food. The menu includes traditional breakfast fare like pancakes and sausage & eggs. The dishes I remember from our order were the bluberry pancakes, sausage & eggs, zaatar with labneh mana'ish, and a fava bean soup. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The blueberry pancakes were mine, and they were about as good as it gets. I should add that some of the dishes we ordered do not appear on the menu you'll find on their website. I don't know if these items were specials or they just haven't keep their website updated. Their prices in-store, by the way, are lower than what appears online. My pancakes, for example, were $18 but listed at $22 in the online menu. There is a large outdoor dining area available, but it was really too hot for us the day we visited. The heat was something of an issue indoors, too, as it did not appear as though their air conditioning was working. The inside of this place has this industrial-meets-cozy vibe with plenty of seating, which made it feel relaxed and welcoming. The music was playing a little loud at first, but when we asked if they could turn it down, they kindly did, which we really appreciated!! The menu was massive in the best way--so many choices! From wraps and plates to breakfast options, it took us a few minutes just to narrow things down. Everything we ordered was super fresh and beautifully seasoned. It's a little on the pricey side, but the generous portions make up for it. Honestly, it felt like a good value for what you get. I was a hungry hippo after seeing the menu and ordered a little binge fest for myself #1 totally will order Adjarski any time I come back, that was my favourite. I missed this after I finished it. So hella good! #2 spinach pie . This was great hot and cold for the next day. It held up great I'm the fridge for a few days to snack on. Great bread. Would buy again. 3# soujouk with cheese flat bread. It was good, kinda oily due to the sausage. Taste great following day and the bread is very delicious. Would try other flat breads. #4 kafta hummus was great and filling. # 5 Lamb gyro plate was very filling and made for multi meals. Surprise Surprise! Found it on a Facebook ad! 10minutes drive from our house and just after my Sunday run club, we stumbled on to this GEM! It's a Lebanese restaurant but the breakfast menu was amazing! All the classics and generous portions! I shared a grand slam with my husband and we still had food left over. What a tasty place to eat. My son and I were driving through the area and stopped by FurnSaj for a meal of flatbread and falafel - both super delicious! For the falafel plate, I got fries and hummus as sides. The fries were crispy and warm, with just the right amount of seasoning. The hummus was a huge dollop and was very smooth and tasty! The Mediterranean flatbread was also very good. Hot, but not scalding. Cheese was good, and the tomatoes and olives added just a perfect amount of kick to each bite. The restaurant is pretty clean with plenty of seating. They've got some baked goods as well, and fountain drinks/water/etc. There's also a bathroom. Service is pretty standard. Inedible. I hate saying that about food but it's the only way to describe it. I'm not sure what kind of oil they're mixing their Zaatar with but it tastes and smells like car oil. It lingers on your tongue and has this super strong gross old oil taste. Funny enough, my mom tried the first bite and made a disgusted face and I told her "c'mon it's Zaatar, how bad can it be?" Well, apparently it can be really bad. Literally couldn't finish my one slice. Tried to give this place another chance but unfortunately it's fallen off, will never be stepping foot again and definitely don't recommend that you do either. read more

Came here with about 15 friends for lunch. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their food. I got the beef shawarma plate. I was first in line (of about 15 of us) to order my food, but my dish came out last. I waited about 40 minutes for my food. Don't know if it was sitting under the warmer for a long time waiting to be delivered to our table, but the beef was dry, oily, and overcooked. I took two bites and asked for a to go container. The pizzas were cooked perfectly. The cheese melts in your mouth omg! The sandwich was rich, even tho it was packed it was still somehow holding itself together. The customer service was great. I was looking for a good Mediterranean food spot and luckily this was close by. I tried their chicken kebab plate with half shawarma and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The hummus and eggplant mash were also good, but the garlic sauce was the best. Overall it was a very satisfying and filling lunch.
