This restaurant offers a more traditional, sit down experience without the typical stereotypical Persian restaurant decor. Our servers were kind, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout the meal. Portions are generous and the presentation of each dish is clean. For appetizers, we ordered the kashke bademjan, which was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the tahdig missed the mark for us: the rice tasted old, and the texture was tough and difficult to chew. The ghormeh sabzi and gheimeh stews were good, but didn't quite hit the mark either with flavor. Our favorite dish was the koobideh kabob. The beef was high quality, perfectly seasoned, and expertly prepared: tender, juicy, and full of flavor. On the other hand, the shish kabob was our least favorite; the beef was quite tough and lacked the depth of flavor we expected. The soltani plate offered a very generous portion, though again, the koobideh outshined the filet mignon barg, which could have been more tender and better marinated. Overall, this restaurant shows a lot of potential and could offer a more refined dining experience. As of now, it feels like it needs time to fully establish itself. The food here was excellent. I love good Persian food and came at the recommendation of a Persian friend who lives in Calabasas and so I was excited to try this place's zereshk polo and koobideh kabob and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The koobideh was perfectly cooked - juicy, flavorful and filling (2 skewers easily split between me and another person) and I subbed out the regular rice for zereshk polo which was exactly how I'm used to having it. Delicious, perfectly done with the fresh tasting barberries on top. I also had a side of shirazi salad. They bring out fresh bread as an appetizer (similar to naan) and it was delicious as well. The service was fast, friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food at all. Of course, it was a somewhat quiet Monday night when I went, but I would definitely come back any time and it would be worth the wait IMO. Ambiance is cute, it appears to be a small family owned spot with decent amount of seating and warm lighting (not dim, not super datey but still cute for a date - fresh flowers on every table) and an outdoor area for additional seating / events if you desire. The space in calabasas is very nice with tasteful decor. The service top drawer and they make you feel like you're a noble ( bit of exaggeration). You'll really feel comfortable there. My family are very familiar Persian cooking and when then food arrived are eyes went wide. The meats were perfectly prepared extremely good. I've lived in the area for a few years and have a hard time finding great lunch that won't take long and won't cost me an arm and a leg. The quality here is above average and they have a lot of options. I've been trying to eat healthy and they provide great options. Brown rice and grilled veggies alone have me coming back, but they also have a handful of other toppings you can put on the bowls. Most of them are free! Easy 5 star review for me and I'm very picky when it comes to kabob. They also have a reward system don't forget sign up with Your phone number. We were a party of 25 sitting outdoors. They set up our seating iwas in a U shape with the center area available as a dance floor. The outdoor decor reminded me of being in a posh cabin in Maine The kabob dishes were surprisingly good. Most of us ordered half rice, half salad, and they brought an entire bowl of salad on the side rather than put it on the plate.. My wife and me went to Village Kabob for the first time yesterday for lunch. We had their lunch special. My wife had the chicken and I had the ground beef. Everything was wonderful from the iced tea to the fresh bread. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the food and how it would be prepared. If you want a great meal at a terrific price I strongly urge to try Village Kabob! Now for the price, the cost of each of our lunch was $16.95. This included a nice salad with house made dressing, fresh bread and butter and the entree had a nice portion of meat, Mediterranean style rice a roasted tomato and pepper. The iced tea was fresh brewed with fresh mint leave put in to add a wonderful flavor. The entire meal with the two iced teas tax and tip was just around $50.00, give or take a dollar or two. Amazing Persian food spot. The building itself is super super cute with indoor & outdoor seating(heaters as well). Great for a date night or if you want some good food. We came in for an early dinner tonight. Everything was superb! We sat outside and were attended by friendly servers. Outside seating was delightful on a beautiful spring evening. The kabobs are juicy and tender, the rice is fluffy and fragrant, and everything tastes authentic and high quality. My friends and I stopped in for an early lunch on Saturday. The young man and woman who were our servers were great . I ordered the koobideh combo and salad . I don't think there was any meat and it was so greasy that I couldn't eat it . I gave it to a homeless guy at the farmers market. I'm not sure who is cooking your food . Try to hire someone from Sadaf they have 2 locations. Just a word to the wise. Fix it fast taste your food or be just another failed restaurant. Best of luck read more

We went to the Calabasas location which may not be the same entity as the one in Topanga Village in Woodland Hills. Got concerned as there were very few there. However, the food was very good. We sat in the covered outside as the inside had food smell to it. Fresh baked bread was great. Service was very attentive. Parking is self park for $7 next to it. Overall a much better experience than expected. Caveat are the prices but you get a lot for it. And it's calabasas .... Will be back. I hope more people will go there. They should have easy to eat on the go food on Saturdays for the farmers market crowd eg kabob sandwiches. read more
