We were told that the first one was a trial and we had so much fun with the coach, I can't remember his name but he's awesome. The facility is nice and we had a good time so we said we would come back for the second one and officially sign up. Basically they said that for one month it would be $157 and we would need to sign something and I said okay, that was it. We showed up for 3 of the 4 following weeks and then around Thanksgiving we got super busy and we weren't able to make it for a couple of weeks. I'm thinking, damn well we paid for one class that we didn't go to that sucks but it's not the end of the world. We'll just start back in January when we have more time and start going all 4 weeks every month, no big deal. Fast foward to this week, I check my account as I'm out shopping for the holidays and there's another charge from Amplitude for $157. I call them immediately and get no answer, so I leave a message saying that nobody ever expressed to me that I had signed up for some kind of monthly subscription, I was just told it would be $157 for the month and asked if I could please be refunded. It was before open hours so I figured they'd call me back that night and then I'd explain there was a misunderstanding and no big deal we'd get refunded for December and start back in January. Nobody calls me back so I call the next day, and then the next 3 days after that. Calling and leaving a message every single time. One time a lady answered but told me that she wasn't involved with the office department but she'd have the office person call me right back. So a full WEEK goes by and I finally just got a call this morning at 10:30 AM from Amplitude and I'm thinking finally, someone is going to talk to me about this. Tell me why the first thing I hear from this woman on the phone is that I need to grow up and act like an adult who can read. That I signed a binding legal contract to be charged monthly for a gymnastics class and that in that contract it states that there is a 30-day notice if I want to drop the class or else they have the right to keep charging me until the end of time $157 monthly. NOBODY TOLD ME ANY OF THIS IN TO MY FACE ONE TIME. I understand that it might be in the contract but I am a customer and I trusted the business to give me the full information about the situation and AT AMPLITUDE THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU UNDERSTAND THEIR SYSTEM. The woman that signed me up for the class literally told me "It will be $157 for the full month for both you and your wife, you can sign here and swipe/tap your card." Literally told me nothing else, not that it was a reoccurring payment, not that I needed to let them know BY EMAIL 30 days in advance if I ever plan to stop coming, nothing. I absolutely do not appreciate a local institution doing business this way. This is the kind of thing you would expect from over the phone scam callers and big business corporations trying to trick you into signing up for subscriptions. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the gymnastics class itself or the coaches, but I will not be coming back simply because of the way that this place runs it business and the way that I was treated by the employee on the phone. I have never been told to grow up and act like an adult, or asked if I can read by employee after a WEEK of me trying to get in touch with the business and sort it out. It's absolutely ridiculous and I hope that all of you make sure you read every word of every thing they make you sign here because I PROMISE they're not going to tell you everything you need to know. Absolutely piss poor business and terrible customer service, so rude and so unprofessional. Completely night and day from the respect and intelligence shown by the coaches. I feel bad that the coaches are being represented as a business in such a shotty, unprofessional, and shady way.

I say "camp", because it wasn't. The "camp" was unorganized and not structured. This is what happened on the first day of camp. First off, about the facility, I really didn't get the concept of having a hardcourt floor and sand for volleyball together in the same facility because sand was transferring everywhere. Also the place is not sanitary. There are 2 restrooms. The one in the office had a ton of fruit flies flying around and the one in the gym had fruit flies and dead bugs. Plus, the place was tremendously hot. So about the "camp". First, he was the only instructor for the camp, with the exception of his son and another lady....not really sure what their roles were, because they really didn't do anything. There was no formal introductions and no daily agenda to explain what they would be doing for the week. Then he had all the kids lumped into one group... 5-12 year olds. A real basketball camp separates the kids into their own age groups. He also had everyone shoot on the very tall goals and the little kids not having the right size ball. At around 12 noon he separated the big kids and the little kids, but he had the big kids play 2 games and the little ones work on shooting with his son and the other lady. It seemed that he was more interested in the big kids, then everyone as a whole. I don't know who that female "coach" was, but she cannot teach at all. She had to look at her phone several times to figure out what to do. Little kids have a short attention span, and she didn't keep them entertained and the kids were bored. They had the kids together instead splitting them up. The majority of the kids were not focused...they were standing there not paying attention, playing on the net, and not learning anything. Then they broke for lunch at 1:30 pm and watched a show or a movie in the tiny break room. Then after lunch they played in the sandbox for the rest of "camp". Money wasn't paid for him to play in the sandbox for the majority of camp. The purpose of the camp was to learn about the rules and skills about basketball. On Tuesday, this is when I really knew that this was a scam because Mr. Hines was holding another basketball camp for a daycare center while the i9 basketball campers were playing in the sand volleyball court. When we got there, the camp didn't start on time which was scheduled at 9am. So my mom and I went for a walk, and my dad stayed in his truck. When we returned, my dad said that the door to the facility was locked. When the kids from the daycare center arrived they couldn't get in. So the daycare workers had to call Mr. Hines to unlock the door. My dad asked, "why was the door locked", and Mr. Hines replied "because of security reasons". But yesterday, the door to the facility remained unlocked the entire day. So, my mom had to go around to the back to enter into the facility. Once inside she observed that the i9 campers were not participating in their scheduled basketball camp, instead they were playing volleyball in the sand. It was the daycare children who were on the basketball court participating in their basketball camp. So, my mom left and told my dad what was going on, after much discussion she returned an hour later and discovered that they daycare kids were the only ones on the basketball court being taught about basketball, and the i9 campers were taking a break in the sandbox. At that point, my nephew was taken out of camp and did not return. My dad called i9 to explain what happened. I9 refunded our money, and they were going to discuss the situation with Mr. Hines.

Before this season I could only review Johnson Ferry Sports soccer program. My children are not…read more"sporty kids" and my oldest has some anxiety around trying new things....as in "if she doesnt try she wont fail". We put her in soccer at Upward for the first time in Fall 2021 and of course it was a little traumatizing for her. On more than one occasion she ran off the field during the game and practice. She cried and dug her heels in a lot. BUT her wonderful coaches and teammates rallied around her and supported her during this first season and she prevailed. In 2022 soccer season, we only had ONE incident of running off during a game and her teammates were still equally supportive and loving. I love the fact that these coaches (and kids) have kind hearts and instead of getting frustrated at the girl who kept running off the field, they supported and encouraged her. I cant wait to see what 2023 soccer is going to be like. She's decided she loves goalie... The 3s soccer is a little different than the organized teams. They all meet on a field and it's like a practice where parents get out their with their toddlers on Saturday at a given time and they learn the skills...dribbling, passing, etc. Perfect for a 3 year old. The last Saturday of the season they scrimmage. Nothing cuter than little toddlers running around "herding" the ball. The 4s soccer program is great...same concept of little ones running after the ball, but this time it's every Saturday and practice one day a week. OH I LOVE THAT PART....one day of practice and one game a week!!!! As relaxing as sports can get. We're in T-Ball this Spring and it's been awesome. Somehow I messed up and put my 4 year old who has never played T-Ball on the Advanced 6U team, but they are accepting of him and the coaches are great with him. Considering they can still use at T, it's been good. Heres what I know about JF Sports (Upward Program). 1. The teams are made by their coaches which are parents (and grandparents and adults who love kids) who are volunteering their time to coach...BIG THANK YOU to that. 2. Upward integrates the Christian Faith into the sports program - kindness, acceptance, love, support, encouragement...and devotionals during the practices. 3. JF Sports is chill....a great place to introduce tentative kids to the world of sports and watch them grow. 4. The kids LOVE running thru the parent tunnel at the end of the soccer games. All in all, we love JF Sports & the Upward program.
