Spring Breeze Roll and Sushi Lunch Box 2
Anna D.

Visited for lunch and just as good as I remembered. Had to get the Spring Breeze roll - love this combination and have never seen it anywhere else. The lunch box is a great deal too at around 14 bucks. The also have a lunch special where you can pick 2-3 regular rolls with soup and salad. We were able to find street parking out front but if you can't remember there is a public lot nearby.

2 Thumbs Up Roll

Had a sushi craving (which happens pretty often) and I found Fusha because it was on the way home from running errands. We ordered for pick up via Seamless at around 5 on a Saturday and the quoted wait time was 20-30 minutes. I had the Sushi and Sashimi for 1 (8 pieces sushi - 2 each of salmon, tuna, white tuna, and yellowtail; 12 pieces sashimi - 3 each of yellowtail, salmon, tuna, and striped bass; w. spicy tuna roll). I REALLY appreciated that they actually gave fish for the sushi pieces. A lot of other sushi spots try to play you and give you the rubbery shrimp or the egg and count those each as a piece. The sushi and sashimi were great. My favorite was the yellowtail, which they topped with some sort of green onion concoction. But the spicy tuna tasted a little off. It didn't go bad I don't think, but it just had this odd sweet taste to it. I really thought I'd finish everything but I actually had a few pieces leftover that I had to save for the next day. My husband had the Spicy Trio Roll (Spicy tuna & avocado / spicy salmon & avocado / spicy yellowtail & avocado) and the Two Thumbs Up roll (Soft shell crab tempura, spicy tuna, avocado & roe, wrapped in a soybean nori w. spicy eel sauce). I normally am not a fan of spicy rolls but I liked the way they made them here - the fish wasn't chopped to a paste, and there were still chunks of fish in it, so that you could actually taste it. It was the same situation for the spicy tuna and the two thumbs up roll with the strange sweetness to it. Not sure if I'd order again, just because there wasn't anything super special that stood out (and it's a bit far from where we live), but if you do decide to order, just avoid the spicy tuna.

My craving for Japanese took me to Fusha Asian Bistro. I had bookmarked Fusha and thought of trying it. It was a great find. Thanks to #yelp again! We ordered : * Spicy Kani Salad : Crab , Cucumber , Tobiko and Spicy Aioli. * Tuna Wasabi Dumplings : Wasabi Tobiko, Avocado and some Crunch. * Tuna Tartar 3 Flavors : Finely Chopped Tuna , Tobiko, Scallions Flavored With 3 Sauces. * Sushi Platter For Two : 18 Assorted Sushis and 2 Rolls. The Assorted Sushi Was Just Out Of This World. All The Fish Were So Fresh And Distinctly Flavorful. * Children Bento Box. * Miso Soup : It was Complimentary * * * I will say their Japanese food was really good. Few other friends ordered Chinese and Thai , they will probably not go back again as they didn't like it much. I will definitely go back for their Sushis. * * * Food : Japanese 4 Stars, Rest 2 Stars Ambience : 4 Stars Service : 3.5 Stars

Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box Lunch Special

Fusha is my go-to for Asian food on Main Street Metuchen. I love their hot tea, gyoza, wonton soup, and Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box. Great Asian food at an affordable price. Two apps, two lunch specials, plus hot tea came to only $36. The atmosphere is quiet with soft music playing in the background. There are plenty of options on the menu. You can even BYOB, or order to-go! The staff is attentive but not hasty, so let them know if you are on a time crunch.

Located right in the center of Metuchen on Main St is this relatively small Asian bistro and sushi restaurant. According to the menu they are open seven days a week. The place is super clean and though I was the first customer of the evening, it obviously was not crowded. The staff is super polite, white little English they speak. I ordered the spicy mango salad. Fantastic I must say, plenty of mango and jicama and juicy!!! For my main fare I really enjoyed the Yellowtail Ceviche. The whole meal was circa $20. I concur with most of the other yelp reviewers. Everything was fresh, and when you're dealing with seafood that is a must.

Asian fusion restaurant serving a mix of cuisines, though it seems like a majority of customers come for the sushi. I tried their sushi rolls (Out of Control, Osaka, and Lobster Rock and Roll) and enjoyed all of them. There's a decent variety of rolls to choose from, and everything come out nicely presented on the table. I also had their calamari appetizer, which unfortunately looked more like frozen rings than freshly fried squid. Still tasty though. Not a bad spot for a casual lunch or dinner. BYOB.

Spicy Trio Roll, Miso Soup, and Spider Roll

I have been to fusha pre pandemic and during and the sushi has always been on point. The takeout process is straightforward--I just called with my order and it was ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I got the spicy trio roll order with miso soup and the spider roll. The miso soup was flavorful with lots of seaweed and the serving size is really big (16 oz container). The spicy trio roll sushi has a good fish to rice ratio and there are larger chunks within the chopped up fish. The cucumber in the spider roll was not as crisp as I was expecting but it is overall very tasty. Cant wait to come back to try more

Philadelphia Roll Spring Breeze Roll

What's not to love about the sushi? I've been here before Covid season and like their food still. Called in for my order on a Monday night, I only had to wait 20 minutes about afterwards. I ordered 3 items: Philly roll, spring breeze roll and sushi pizza. Philly roll was solid. Good chunk of fish and cream cheese together. Spring breeze was so good! It was a little sweet because of a glaze on top of the roll. And everything inside went well with the dish. Sushi pizza: the crust was a scallion pancake. The pizza held all the toppings well. Small bits of tuna or salmon, and roe, and other pieces on top of a crunchy crust tastes wonderful. Pizza and spring breeze would be a GO to next time I order Also, its not on the menu online but you can order their Fried Ice Cream dessert from the phone. I wish they added more ginger though

It's definitely the best "sushi" spot in the Metuchen/Edison area. I put "sushi" in quotes since it's still not authentically Japanese sushi, but like most places in Jersey, they offer lots of special rolls and things of the sort. They do their spicy tuna really good here. One thing I do appreciate, which is a little more than I can say about most jersey sushi spots, is that they have things like toro and kumamoto oysters quite frequently. Soooo good. The décor in the restaurant is really nice/modern. Great date night spot or just a place to go with friends or family too. BYOB, like most spots in Metuchen. They also tend to give some complimentary edamame when you dine in, which is much appreciated. I do have to say though-- some of their special rolls should be modified. Too many have asparagus in them. Also, maybe you could add some options that have blue crab on the special roll. Fish is fresh though, which is the most important thing.

A very good sushi spot! It has a nice ambiance with fast service, we didn't have to wait long at all for our food. I ordered the crazy Friday roll which was so yummy for those out there who prefer cooked sushi! We also got edamame and shumai, which were both very tasty! Would definitely come here again. It was pretty decently priced for good quality sushi. Also, just an FYI, it's located in the main street area of Metuchen, so you will need to look for either street or public parking.

Where do people park for fusha? Do they have their own parking lot?

We had a party of 6 and still had to wait about 25 minutes for a table as the place is pretty small. Right after we sat down we accidentally spilled a glass of water and it took so much effort to flag down a waiter to get some napkins. They didn't even help us clean it up, we could barely mop up what was on spilled on the table because they gave us very little napkins. Then when we asked for more napkins when the food came out the waitress counted it out and gave us exactly 6, one for each person. As for the food, a big disappointment. The tuna was not the bright pink color it normally is and instead had a dark red/purple hue to it, a little concerning. The yellowtail and squid were super chewy. The mackeral was very fishy, which I understand mackeral is on the fishy side for raw fish but I've had it in Japan where is was the exact opposite. Honestly, the only fresh tasting fish was the salmon. The food was slow to come out even though the wait staff was very attentive with grabbing our menu orders. Most likely will not be returning.

While it's not quite on the level of New York City's omakase spots, it's solid for New Jersey and worth a visit if you're in the area. Standout bites for me were the Otoro and Chu Toro- both beautifully fatty and flavorful - as well as the Hamachi with shishito and the scallop topped with crispy garlic. Other highlights included the Madai (seabream), barracuda, striped jack, and a satisfying bone marrow served with toast. I also tried Kumamoto oysters for the first time in years, and they were a lovely surprise-cleaned properly, topped with a light sauce, and incredibly fresh. The Hokkaido uni was creamy, though slightly more briny and bitter than I personally prefer. Mr. Bin himself mentioned that uni flavor can vary depending on the season. Throughout the meal, Mr. Bin was present and helpful, guiding us toward which fish to try. The fish is delivered fresh twice a week, and the quality really does show. That said, it's still missing that little extra something that sets top-tier omakase apart- the purposeful dot of yuzu sauce, the hidden dab of wasabi under the fish, or a crisp garnish that adds dimension and surprise. Some sushi have this, some don't. The technique is good, the fish is fresh, and the experience was enjoyable- I'd return- but it's a notch below the more elevated experiences you can find in the city. Hence 4 stars. Solid though, and friendly. Nice ambiance inside too, Saturday dinner time it filled up quickly so I recommend a reservation.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.

When you walk in, the soothing dim lights with the soft purple icicle lights is such a vibe, great for a date night. The music also has a soothing quality that almost puts you in a calming trance. The restaurant is well kept and clean. Let me tell you, the servers? Top notch. We were helped by a man when we first came in, and later a woman. Both were incredibly pleasant, attentive, and did not rush us at all. We were there from just before 6 until after 8... a record for our after work crowd!! I also left my favorite sunglasses behind which would have been so upsetting, but our female server ran out to make sure I did not leave without them, I was so appreciative. Last but certainly not least- the FOOD! So remember, I'm a sushi hater? No longer! They had a fantastic peanut and avocado roll that I ordered with soy paper instead of seaweed (I really don't like the taste of the sea) paired with the soy sauce it was a nice amalgamation of flavor and texture, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered pan fried gyoza and edamame for the table both extremely well executed. A friend said the gyoza was melt in your mouth quality and I felt that was quite accurate. I tried my friend's sweet potato roll which did have seaweed wrap on it but I actually really liked that too! For my meal I got hibachi steak. It was a generous portion and very tasty. I'm not big on mushrooms but I even gobbled those up- so good! With the hibachi meals you get plenty of food- salad, miso soup, your choice of hibachi style protein, hibachi mixed vegetables & hibachi rice. I had such a great experience at Sushi O, I will definitely be back. They have officially converted me!
