A few logistical tips: while there is street parking, a public lot is conveniently located right across the street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is quite intimate with only about ten tables, and since they don't seem to take reservations, I recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you don't want to wait, they do offer takeout! Another suggestion is to browse their menu online before you arrive, the selection is extensive! We showed up without a game plan and needed several minutes just to decide because there were so many tempting choices! Luckily, our waiter was incredibly patient and helpful, answering every question we had. Once we decided, the real fun began. Every single item, and I'm not exaggerating, was phenomenal! We started with the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was sweet and perfectly portioned, along with a vanilla latte and a cappuccino. Both were classic, rich, and creamy. For the main course, we chose the "Chill + Qill It" Chilaquiles, which featured traditional corn tortillas topped with cotija cheese, avocado, pink sour cream, eggs, and your choice of protein. We also tried the Parkside Classic Sliders; the chicken was exceptionally crispy yet tender and juicy, served with eggs on a brioche bun. We opted to upgrade to the truffle fries, which were delicious! Although our sliders accidentally came with pickles, the staff was so kind and immediately offered to remake the dish or swap out the bun. Finally, we had the Grilled Chicken Egg Ranchero. It was like a breakfast version of nachos, loaded with beans, peppers, onions, an egg, those same crispy tortillas, and more of that signature pink cream! We couldn't leave without satisfying our sweet tooth, so we finished with the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It tasted exactly like a fresh cinnamon roll, the glaze was incredible, and the bread was perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining fluffy inside. Don't come if you are in a rush or starving... going to be a while. 9 tables in the whole place. Our food got to us before 2 cans of soda did. Took 30 mins to get our appetizer, another 20 minutes to order our meals and then another 30 mins to get our food (no I'm not exaggerating it was a near 2 hour experience). Food was good, but when it got to us it wasn't hot and could tell it sitting under a heat lamp for a while. 2 tables got there after us and left before us. Understaffed and/or untrained. It's a nice menu but I questioned how would a senior citizen or someone that doesn't have a smart phone be able to view the menu because they have no paper menus. so I think that's something for the owner to consider plus it's a real pain to look online. I'm sorry I'm a senior myself and it's so inconvenient but the girl came took our order wrote it down on paper so we didn't have to order through the app itself so that was nice. She brought our teas, drinks. No alcohol served not sure it's a bring your own. You might have to call ahead to find out. I ordered the Krab-o-Cado egg rolls as my lunch but she brought it as the appetizer so I guess she didn't hear me say it was my meal. My daughter had the Korean BBQ Chicken sliders which looked delicious but were very tough to chew. And they were bathed in so much sauce it was a mess to eat. Our other relative had the blueberry ube maple croissant waffle, which looked delicious. She enjoyed it. I had the Korean barbecue salad. Which was spicy but fresh and tasty. Unfortunately They mixed up our order and delivered 1/2 of it to another table so the wait was extra long. On the bright side they tried to be very accommodating and gave us 2 extra hot teas and adjusted the bill. Luckily we went on a Friday early afternoon so waited 20ish to be seated. Staff is nice and quick with the order. We were in a rush so they were able to accommodate us accordingly. This is nice little off the main street area of Metuchen restaurant. I got there just as it opened since I had somewhere else to go to afterwards. Do I want to gatekeep this place? Absolutely! Should I? I can't. Especially since the owner really wanted us to talk about it. The only knock I have against it is that it's not easy for me to get to living in Jersey city and with no car. Genuinely would rent a car once a month just to eat here. That's how good the place is. Service was pretty decent for a small place and it was popping. Owner was really nice always checking up on us and doing his best to keep us going. The waitress was also very accommodating with how big back and messy we were. Not a single crumb wasted. All the food was good. We didnt make a reservation, but the staff was extremely willing to make space for everyone when we arrived. The service here is absolutely terrible. We called and asked if we could have a reservation for 6 people at 11:15. They said "We don't normally make reservations, but we will hold a table for you guys since it's 6 people." 3 different groups of 2 left their houses 30-40 minutes away. When we get there, they are arguing with the people in front of us because those people made a reservation and now they were saying that no reservations allowed. They left angry. We were initially a bit confused since there was a sign on the door that said something along the lines of "We apologize for the inconvenience, we are undergoing renovations." However, we realized the place was still open once we saw someone inside. When we got seated, there was only one other family of 4 in the restaurant. Despite the lack of other customers, it took a while to get the menu, for our orders to be taken, and for our food to come out. We ordered the avocado hot chili toast and Korean fried chicken sliders. The food looked nice and it tasted alright, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the hot chili on the avocado toast. I've had my eye on Parkside Eats for some time now. Nestled away from the hubbub of main st Metuchen, you could easily miss this gem but I encourage you to check them out. My partner and I went on a Tuesday afternoon so it was quiet which was nice. The guy who was there was friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The inside decor is welcoming and stylish. It is so hard to choose when dining here because everything sounds so delicious on the menu. I ordered the Ube float which ended up being my favorite part of the meal! It was so tasty and the presentation is beautiful, definitely IG worthy. We also ordered the fried cheese and "old clothes" empanadas for appetizers. I believe the fried cheese was queso de frier (halloumi) but I'm not 100%, it was a nice break from the traditional mozzarella sticks and the tangy pink sauce was a nice touch. The empanada was tasty and the filling tasted like a traditional ropa veija but it was a bit drier than I would have liked. It did come with a nice sauce for dipping so this wasn't a deal breaker. For my meal I ordered the guava chili chicken sliders, which were the perfect combo of savory and sweet. It came with two sliders and a generous portion of waffle fries... the waffle fries are on POINT. They are seasoned to perfection and nice and crisp. Everything was delicious, I've eaten every bite lol. It took a little bit to get my order placed and our food to the table but we had enjoyed what we gotten. Everyone was super nice and we met the owner of Parkside. He was amazing and words cannot describe the hospitality he had given us. The only downfall I do see is that it can be a little pricey for the portion you get. My avocado toast was like $15 but the presentation was chefs kiss. I do, however, recommend the ube waffle. Came here on a friday afternoon around 1:15pm. The place has street parking and a parking lot across the street. It was fairly empty and we were told we can sir anywhere. The place is very small but clean and nicely decorated. Me and my sister ordered the chicken sliders, veggie sliders, and the blueberry ube croissant waffle. The food came out quick. The chicken was very crunchy. It lacked flavor but was still good, fresh, and not oily. I wasnt a fan of the chipotle sauce on the side, so i asked for the pink guava sauce. It didnt taste like much either. The waffle was good. My only complaint was that although the outside was crispy, the inside was very doughy and chewy. Also, drinks are very small. All in all a very good place. I will come back to try the fluffy pancakes which are only served on Wednesday. And the ube french toast. I tried to get lunch here on a weekday. They opened about eight months ago for soft opening. They will schedule their Grand Opening soon. We ordered balsamic salad, Old Clothes beef empanadas and Humpty Dumpty burger. The salad mix has wall nuts and raisins, my wife finished her whole plate of salad for the first time. The burger has two sliders with single beef patties, sunny side egg and their special sauce, so delicious. The waffle fries I ordered to replace their regular fries is seasoned and delicious. The beef empanadas are soft and the stuff shredded flank steak meat top inside with pickled onions and cilantro they're seasoned and taste great. Serving staff is friendly and helpful. Nice inside dining decor and well lighted. There's paid parking meters in the open parking lot just across, My only concern is their outside sign background is pink and the word Parkside Eats has same color. It's so hard to see or distinguish if you're driving by. The sign should be black which can be easily seen from the main road.
