Everything was tasty. Everything tastes fresh, every time I pass by it's always busy and popular , service was fast and friendly. It was clean inside. Picture this: One evening, when everything else was full or closed, I decided to give their bento box a try. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. What a letdown! The food tasted just passable, like something you'd reluctantly grab at a mall food court after a long day of shopping. Definitely not worth the price. On another night, when options were limited again, I found myself back at Fusia, giving their ramen a shot. To my surprise, it was pretty good! I thought, "Hey, maybe I've found a hidden gem!" Here's the kicker: In all my time in Ithaca, never once have I found myself saying, "Hmm, I'm really craving Fusia Bento Bar tonight." It just doesn't happen. I often crave the shrimp stew with sweet potato noodles (sometimes I get it extra spicy sometimes not). They're generous with the shrimps--six PHAT MEATY PRAWNS WITH HEAD ATTACHED (which makes it better btw)-- and the broth is *drools* During certain hours you can also do their rice soup and (I think it was three) items lunch special. While I was originally excited to try Fusia Bento Bar, my experiences thus far have been a let down. My most recent order was delayed - multiple times - and arrived needing some serious reheating. The packaging they use for delivery of items such as ramen or steamed buns aren't effective either... for example, the paper bowl for the ramen is way too small for the amount of noodles included. I appreciate their noodle-related generosity, but if that's the default quantity then you need a better packaging option. Also, my steamed buns arrived wet and soggy... making them completely unappetizing. They also - like my ramen - lacked any flavor. I've tried these kinds of dishes - like pork katsu donburi, ramen, or steamed buns - all over, including Seattle, Honolulu, Boston (esp. Chinatown), and so on. I wasn't expecting the dishes from Fusia to be amazing or completely on par (this is Ithaca, after all), but I wanted at least something above "blah". This food? This wasn't (and hasn't been) it... it's blah. I'm giving 2 stars for the menu that provides decent options for those more veggie-minded... and the eggrolls from here are decent. Otherwise, I'm honestly just over it and I don't think I'll be back. P.S. Just realizing I ordered both Fried Rice (+ $2.50) and an extra Egg Roll (+ $1.50) to go along with my order of Pork Katsu Donburi... and I received neither addition... the rice was white, and there was no extra eggroll. Very big portions of all the food, including the soup. I paid $17 including tip for the general tso's bento box with hot and sour soup (a $1.50 upgrade). I ordered ahead and did initially think this was expensive for one meal, but because I'm now able to get two meals out of it it feels worth it. I ordered and picked it up about 20 min later and the food was ready to go and still hot by the time I was able to eat it. My only complaint was that the chicken tasted a bit too salty for my taste. I don't think I'd get the general tso again because of this, but I'd definitely try another meal here. read more

I really really like this place and the people and am leaving 4 star because of the historically good food for price. HOWEVER, the last few times I've had their chicken (general Tsos is my go to) it has been very dry and tough to the point where I can't eat some pieces. right off cornell's campus and closes at 10pm, which are huge pros. unfortunately, the food leaves a bit to be desired. the entrees are pretty standard for american chinese cuisine, with some real misses on the menu (the orange chicken is BAD). the service here is pretty good though you might wait a while for your food. if it's busy, expect a 20-30 minute wait. the vibe inside is pretty chill, just wish the food was better than average. still worth checking out though. read more

This wasn't bad, but I doubt I'll be back. I popped in with the intention of doing takeout. The weather was cold, though, and the restaurant was empty, so I decided to dine in. It's a nice space-- very bright and clean with soothing music-- and the woman manning the cash register was pleasant and helpful in explaining the menu. I was a little bit confused about the setup. They have some prepared dishes set out cafeteria style at the front, so I assumed that my order would be ready right away, but it turns out that they cook most things to order. She said it would be about ten minutes, which was accurate. While I was waiting for my bento box, she brought out a nice sized bowl of miso soup. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm at best. Oddly, it was also served with a fortune cookie. Then came the bento box. I ordered general Tso's chicken with a seaweed salad. - The chicken was pretty good and only made better by the fact that it came right out of the fryer. There was plenty of meat and just a few pieces of broccoli, which I see as a plus. - The rice was a rice. - There were three gyoza, and I really liked them. Nice flavor and perfectly cooked. - By far the biggest disappointment was the seaweed salad. I had expected that I'd get... well, a seaweed salad. Not really. It was a big mound of iceberg lettuce with approximately a half a bite of seaweed on top. If this had been a proper portion, this definitely would have been four stars. Ultimately, this place gives you less food than the old Apollo, takes longer, is more expensive, and has less variety. The space is a lot nicer, though, and the food is a little fresher. read more

Ordered the Classic Bento box with Sesame Chicken, Seaweed, Fried Rice, and Egg roll. Also got the Pan-fried Handmade Pork Dumplings. All the food was great, but the pork dumplings were definitely my favorite. They reminded me of the ones I used to get in the Greater Boston area. Sesame chicken was crispy and flavorful, the seaweed salad was wonderfully salty, but I do have to say the egg roll was pretty flavorless. While Fusia Bento Bar doesn't necessarily serve the most amazing or home style asian dishes, it is very consistent and offers a very diverse menu. I have already been here multiple times and can say it's a not a bad option for your Chinese food cravings while in Collegetown. I have gotten the Braised Pork Donburi which is just Chinese 红烧肉. I thought the flavors were definitely very spot on and I enjoyed the dish overall but I found that there could've been more vegetables. Overall, I would recommend this to students who are craving Chinese food at a slightly lower price point than other restaurants in Collegetown. I also went for Saturday lunch and tried their lunch special that allows you to choose entrees from a wide variety of dishes (cafeteria style). This was not bad either, definitely satisfies my cravings for Chinese food! While Chinese options in Collegetown are slightly more limited, I enjoy that Fusia is located in a very confident location and it also offers consistent food (nothing to write home for but nothing bad either) at a reasonable price. read more

Terrible service. I paid $29 for 2 plates, and my girlfriend got her food in 2 min. Then they gave MY order to the other table (there were only 4 ppl in the whole restaurant), and I had to wait 25 minutes while my girlfriend's food got cold in front of us. When my food finally came, it was pork even though I ordered chicken, so they had to remake it.
