I read no reviews on them before I had chosen them, I still haven't read any until today! I called and made an appt, after not being seen at a dentist in 3 years, I'm from Seattle. Been in Portland for a year now, best move I've made when it comes to dentists and doctors here!! I called and set up an appt with Letty, she was amazing over the phone.. I felt extremely comfortable as we talked and she set up my appt! She was able to get me an appt for the next day! I came in the next afternoon, which I had to take my 1 month old daughter with me, her dad works until early evening so it was my only choice! Of course I get there and she decides she wants to wake up while in her car seat, I rock her myself until I get called to the back. Janna greeted me in the waiting area (I later on learned how much I loved her!) she talked me through what was going to happen this initial appt, of course baby starts crying in her car seat, which she then offers for someone to rock her while I get my x-rays done! Thank you, Rosie! For doing that even though she was still fussing! Then it was onto my cleaning, & Dr Hoang was welcoming and wonderful! She warned me of all of the times I'll be back for work done... LOL, I knew how bad my teeth were. But she didn't make me feel bad about it! She made me very comfortable! Her & Janna are an amazing team! All while I was getting my cleaning done, my daughter was so fussy, so they asked Letty the front desk (manager ? A week later: Dr. Hovey sat down in his office with me and started to talk, not about the tooth I was sent to him for, but something completely different, something that was not even discussed with me at my prior appointment: He did the second full mouth ct-scan without consulting me for his hidden agenda, to sell me a $ 5000.00 Lanap laser treatment for a periodontal problem I did not even know I had. Unsure if he really tried to scam me, I later went to another Periodontist (who also had this type of laser in his office) and this Periodontist positively confirmed that a Lanap laser treatment was not needed in my case. I felt Dr. Hovey tried to scam me into this expensive procedure with a fake diagnosis. The new Periodontist fixed a small problem for under $ 400 and I had no problem ever since. Before I left Dr. Hovery's office after the dreadful appointment, I ask him about the tooth the actual referral was written for... He answered, 'Oh, no problem found there' (meaning = no money made there). Unbelievable behavior and in my opinion anyone should stay away from this office. Reading Dr. Hovey's other one star reviews, it seems like I'm not the only patient Dr. Hovey was trying to pressure into a Lanap treatment. I have a lot of dental anxiety and chronic illness, and he and his team made me feel so comfortable, and were so accommodating with my disabilities. I came here for help after a horrible experience at another local dentist -- I had been in pain for months despite my former dentist continuing to gaslight me and tell nothing was wrong after she did a filling. Dr. Blair very quickly was able to see from a 3D model he took, that the filling had been done wrong, that the first dentist had left a gap at the bottom exposing the nerve and letting food get trapped underneath, where it had caused an infection. I wound up needing antibiotics. Dr. Blair found the problem in just a few minutes and he fixed it in maybe 15-20 minutes. No pain or discomfort since. After all that needless suffering because of the previous dentist. To finally have relief from the agonizing tooth pain and to be able to chew food again is life changing, especially as someone who is in chronic body pain 24/7, every bit of relief is massive help. I am so grateful to Dr. Blair and his amazing staff, including the techs and reception and billing staff. They want you to blindly sign a screen to something that they have on their separate screen that you can't see, but even if you see it or they print it they could steal your signature or you could actually be signing something you have no intention to sign. You spend your whole life being told to be cautious of this and yet now this wack process is becoming more and more frequent. And not only do they not read the document, they just sum it all up. What's the point of even having a signature at this point?

I came in for a crown procedure and could not be more pleased with my experience here! If you have…read moreany kind of dental fears, this is the place for you! The staff is so supportive and accommodating and they really know how to communicate to their patients what to expect in a way that the patient will understand. I had cracked a filling and they were able to get me in a day later. They explained to me over the phone in a patient and clear way how to take care of the tooth in the meantime. When I was able to come in, they examined my tooth and explained clearly and patiently that I would need a crown. I shared with them my fears (I have A LOT of dental trauma) they were able to explain to me how this experience would be different and better. Dr. Dar was able to calm my fears and when I said I was leaving for vacation that evening and wouldn't be back for a week - he explained clearly why it would be ok to wait to put in the temporary crown for when I returned. I came back for the temporary crown procedure and was so scared but they turned on Great British Backing show, numbed me until I could confidently say I didn't feel anything and began drilling. They moved quickly and it was clear they all cared about each other too as they chatted about weekend plans which was so comforting for me! Then they gave me 3 ibuprofen and 1 Tylenol and told me to go ahead and take it before the numbing wears off and that research shows that combo is best for pain relief which was reassuring. They said if I had any pain that kept me up at night to call them and they would get me back in but I didn't! For the following two weeks I had no pain at all! Then I returned for my permanent crown and they were very honest about how this procedure might cause a little pain because of the cold sealant they would need to use to permanently hold the crown. But they gave me something to squish with my hands and turned on Bob Ross and again moved quickly and confidently through the procedure. This part was slightly painful but nothing compared to what I've experienced in the past and was prepared for because of their clear communication. The whole procedure took about a half hour! Then they sent me home with another 3 ibuprofen and 1 Tylenol - I took it right away and had no pain the rest of the day. I experienced the slightest discomfort later that evening but nothing that kept me up at night and when I woke up the next morning the pain was gone. Here I am a day later and zero pain at all!!!! Just the slightest cold sensitivity but it's very manageable. I am so grateful for their thoughtful and encouraging staff! Heavenly and Dr Dar were amazing to work with. So patient and compassionate and created a welcoming environment! You will get quality care here.

It's hard for me to get time off work and I was excited to get a long overdue cleaning. When I arrived I was told they were short staffed and that I'd need to come back for the cleaning another time. I was moved from one room to another and passed off among different dental assistants. They took X-rays and offered orthodontia and fillings but even with my insurance (Delta Dental) the prices were way too high for me. The whole vibe felt a bit unorganized but maybe I just came on an off day. Again, the staff and provider I met with were all very kind and seemed to be doing their best, given the chaos of that day.
