DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!! Hamilton Sims replaced a filling in my partner's tooth about five years ago. For about a month he experienced horrible pain, so he went back and Sims said he still had fragments of the old filling and offered to fix it for free (as he should). During the second attempt not only did Sims split his lip to the point of bleeding while he was numb, but he buffed away the dentin just below the gum line, which caused severe pain. When my partner went back to see him since he was in such pain Sims threw his arms in the air and said, "what do you want me to do about it?" After seeing a new dentist, they suggested MI paste which helped immensely. Why Sims did not think to suggest this or show any amount of care, I can't say. Fast forward to today, my partner's tooth broke during breakfast. I don't know if these two incidents are related, but it makes me wonder. Regardless, Hamilton Sims did a poor job buffing away dentin, and when asked for help he didn't apologize or show any sign of compassion or care. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!! read more

I have been going to Lincoln Dental for years. I started visiting dentists when the offices smelled funny, the equipment more closely resembled a medieval torture chamber, you spit in a "swirly bowl", the inlays were gold and the dentist's hobby was jewelry making. Enter Dr. Sims. The entire practice is cutting edge. The staff are professional but take the time to explain what is happening in a straightforward and honest way. My every encounter there has been pleasant and the feeling more of an encounter with friends than a doctor's visit. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Dr. Sims is amazing. He is so great with my kiddos, that they keep asking if it's time for their cleanings again. Lorraine, at the front desk, is very attentive to your insurance and makes sure to remind you if you have remaining benefits to utilize for the remainder of the year. The whole office is just like coming home to family. Also, they contract with a lot of different insurances, which helps with the financial aspect. The hygienists never make you feel bad for not flossing, because lets be honest- flossing isn't everyone's forte. Not to mention, there is a pup named Moonpie. Needed to get approval from my doctor. Ok, got approval. They refused to see me because I filled out their form correctly (they ask for your entire medical history). They mixed up past problems with present problems and refused to see me. A business has the right to refuse service to anyone, but to charge me $92 to turn me away when I took all the proper steps t? A little pricey if you don't have insurance (but that's not their fault) and with dentists, you don't really want to go cheap on the teeth. They're very professional and they do good work. I want to start out by saying I have never been trested so rudely at any medical facility in my life. I've never cried from the way I was treated by a Dr and jus staff until Lincoln dental. This past year I have had leukemia, a bone marrow transplant, and a nuerological condition where I had to relearn how to walk (I'm a young adult). I went to Lincoln dental before my transplant to get a filling and Dr Simms Saturday he was very familiar with how cancer affects the mouth. Since I saw him my mouth has gone through times where my mouth is in so much pain I had to be put on a feeding tube, and was not able to brush my teeth. Because of this, my gums and mouth are a mess. I wanted to see him about a hole in my gums. Because I couldn't walk, I was late for an appointment. The receptionist was incredibly rude to me for wasting everybody's time, but managed to reschedule me. Upon entering, the receptionist tested me like I was an annoyance. They wanted to take an x-ray but since even drinking water hurt my mouth I said I think the X-ray would hurt too much and why did I need one for a gum issue. She insisted until I had to pretend I couldn't open my mouth. Then the Dr came in and I tried to explain my situation and that I heat wanted him to examined to see what condition my teeth were in. As I tried to explain he interrupted me and said very condescending things, treating me like I was complaining when I was only trying to communicate with him. Out of frustration I started crying and said please listen to me. Apparently the receptionist had thought I said I had a hike in my tooth not in my gum. When he realized that he was even more annoyed. He took a peak in my mouth and said everything is ok, but how would he know if he didn't examine my mouth? I wanted to ask more questions but I ended up running out the door to get away from that place. I wrote to them and gave them polite feedback on my experience. Weeks later they sent me a letter saying they understood I was experience stress, and they would forward my info to the next dentist i'd see. No apology, no taking responsibility - they basically were saying they forgave me for inconviencing them. If you want a dentist that gaslights you, makes you feel like your dental problems are annoying them, make mistakes and won't take responsibility for m, and rush you through without listening to you, go to Lincoln dental read more

I was trying to find out an upcoming appointment. I received a call back form the office telling me that because I was over 75 years old they would not be ale to honor my appointment in July. Because of my age I was excluded as I might be more at risk for Covid. I have been a patient at this dentist for years, and to be turned down due to my age I find this a reprehensible practice and reeks of AGEISM. I do not recommend this dentist under any circumstances. Absolutely do not go to this dentist. I moved here a couple years ago and had to find a new dentist. This was on the list of providers given to me by my insurance company. I went for a cleaning and X-rays. Then I went back for a filling, I have had fillings before even without Novocaine. This was with novocaine and it hurt for weeks, I still can't really get floss between the teeth without it breaking because they did not smooth the area. On top of that they recommended i get a crown put in, I called my previous dentist in another state for a second opinion and he informed me based on my records I should not need a crown. I recommend these guys to everyone I know. It is a bit pricey (i even have insurance) but what dentist isn't? They are friendly, thorough and informative. The last time I had a cleaning I actually learned a lot about my gums and teeth. They take the time to educate, not preach. They also took the time to set up a plan for work i needed done based on my finances and insurance plan. They mapped it out for me in language I could understand. And didn't push me to get minor or unnecessary work done on my teeth which I feel like a lot of other dentists do. I keep going back, they're great. read more

Billing is important. The service is good, but I received a bill for fluoride. I was told by my dental assistant at the time of service that it was covered. I had to call my insurer and verify that it is indeed covered. This should not have been a phone call for me to relay to the dentist that they didn't fill out the right paperwork. I would have preferred the dentist take care of the billing and leave me out of it, and not to send me a bill for things that I have coverage for. read more

I've been going to Dr. Sims for about 10 years now. I love the staff here. Everyone is knowledgable, professional, and ultra friendly. Every once in a while, I'll forget my Ipod for a filling or something, and Dr. Sims is quick to loan me his (bonus that he has great taste in music). All in all, for those that don't look forward to going to the dentist, these people make the visit extremely pain free. read more

I was potentially losing dental insurance coverage and wanted one last cleaning. The dentist found that I needed a small filling on a tooth they'd been watching for 3 years and they got me in within three days. I view medical care (including dentistry) as a collaboration between me and the provider, and I frequently "do my homework" on what's being done. In this case, I know from experience that I don't deal well with a certain type of local anesthetic, and Dr. Sims and the hygienist doing the filling were very responsive to this. I get my teeth cleaned regularly here, they're better than they have been in years (despite not flossing - STILL! argh), what more can I say? Except that Karen is my favorite hygienist. She does a great job, she's friendly and never forced and weird with the small talk. She's perfect! The ONLY quibble I can think of is there is one front desk employee that sometimes calls a few too many times about "time for your cleaning," etc., but since I never answer my phone, it doesn't bother me. Easy going atmosphere. Friendly staff. I've used both dentists at Lincoln Dental now, and feel comfortable. So much so, that I switched my kids over from their pricey pediatric dentist (who was great when they were teensie, but a kid only needs so many stickers...). People used to think I was just sad and grumpy but it turned out I just needed a lot of dental work. I smile all the time now! Thank you Dr. Sims and staff for making my mouth a happy mouth. What can I say about Lincoln Dental... I used to have such a fear of dental work. (So much so that I neglected it for longer than I care to admit!) That all changed after my first visit with Dr Sims and the team over there. Every aspect was not only comfortable, but the staff was caring and fun, and most importantly so attentive to how nervous I might be about being there. I don't miss a cleaning now, and getting my work done (and I had work to do since I had neglected my teeth for so long) causes no anxiety. I look forward to it! This is the best dentist I've ever gone to, but I've only gone to about 3 dentists in my lifetime. My last dentist incorrectly installed my fake front teeth and wasn't cutting edge. Here they have cutting edge amalgam filling removal technology and fluoride free polishing toothpaste. My teeth are doing pretty good now and pretty happy camper. Eventually I'll need my front teeth replaced and probably will use them. My wife goes here too and is quite happy. read more
