Sat at the bar and had great small talk convo. I ordered the jerk chicken with white rice and beans all the flavors were there an it was amazing . She made me a passion fruit marg which was so tasty. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes. Need to review the oxtail next time for sure. Small and cozy place. It felt inviting and the type of establishment I would definitely stop by for a drink or two. If you're ever in the area stop.

Loved the decor. They have decent size bar which was nice. We were greeted and seated right away. Started with rum punches , freshly prepared and my god were they good. For apps we had with the jerk dry rub wings. So tasty!! I am a bit of a wing snob and these were good. Would def recommend blue cheese vs ranch as dipping sauce but that's just me For dinner we had the jerk chicken and pernil. Love that they have different rice options, white, rice with peas and Moro. Jerk chicken was flavorful. Spicy! Pernil was good. Tender. I enjoyed it. To finish it off we had the in-house Dominican tres leches cake. Amazing so so good. We did also order a beef pattyto try but had to bring that home, was so full! Can't wait to try it tho. Would highly recommend going. They also offered happy hour specials which was great. Vibes were definitely Caribbean and we were loving it.

Hubby had the burger - sans bun (gf) he called it "good and tasty." I can vouch for the excellent crispy hot fries. I had a special risotto - with savory veggies, crunchy crispy onions, cooked al dente - perfect. * We shared the cheesecake which could be delivered gluten free simply omitting the gram cracker sprinkle - creamy cheesy deliciousness. * Our first time hearing the Jack Grace a gentle blend of country, rock, and bossa nova made us fans. Apple Music does not represent what we heard. LIve was better. We will be back and recommend the food and the music! Nice bar, the tight seating in dining area but does not take away from atmosphere- feels more intimate. Excellent attentive service.

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.

There are multiple rooms. Every single one of them is designed to make you feel like you've been on a guest list this whole time and nobody told you. A written description won't capture it. I'm trying right now and I'm failing. You just have to go. We sat at the bar. The bar looks like the bar in The Shining if the Overlook Hotel had been run by people who actually wanted you to enjoy yourself and not get murdered. The staff are proud of the place and you can feel it, that specific warmth of people who know they're working somewhere worth working. Service like that can't be trained. You either care or you don't. These people care. The food is spectacular. The drinks are better than the food. I'm going to let that sit there because the food is spectacular. I'm not here to tell anyone how to live their life, but bringing your kids to House of Stefas is like using a Lamborghini to pick up mulch. You can do it. It's a free country. But this is a place you take someone when you want them to fall in love with you. This is the restaurant equivalent of a third date where everything goes right. I saw families dining here with children who would be happy with chicken fingers. I don't understand it. House of Stefas is doing things to my palate that I didn't think were possible in the Hudson Valley. Five stars. I would give six but the system won't let me and frankly that kind of restraint is probably healthy.

"House" is in reference to the restaurant being located in a former home and being home-like, while Stefas refers to the family name of the two co-owners and brothers who had envisioned it -- John and Paul Stefanopoulos. LOCATION: The restaurant is located on Franklin Avenue. CONCEPT: The co-owners describe the restaurant cuisine as "freestyle Greek". It is a mix of family recipes and their international dining experiences. AMBIANCE: The interior of the building (previously Aurelia restaurant) was completely gutted and reimagined. The design evokes both a sense of surprise and recognition that the two brothers devoted much thought and effort into making the restaurant a special experience for guests. There are many different seating areas, each with comfortable upholstered seats. Together, the ambiance suggests a supper club -- which makes sense as that aligns with the brothers' experience and vision for this location. FOOD: The menu includes many traditional Greek mezze and plates, but also opportunity for culinary splurges and adventures through intriguing options called "Let the Gods Decide" and "Bounty for the Aristocracy". Can't miss the Portokalopita -- an orange-infused sheet cake topped with vanilla bean ice cream and draped in tahini. BEVERAGES: Creative cocktails include the Oracle and Versace 38. SERVICE: The co-owners pride themselves on their orientation towards hospitality and this is reflected in the service. Servers wear cream jackets, something I have yet to see in the region. The enthusiasm to please customers feels authentic.

We had a delicious prix fixe VDay menu that was hands-down one of the best meals we've had in years. We are transplants from the city and felt like we were back in Brooklyn. Every bite was mouth-watering, from the salted butter and warm bread to the perfectly dressed beet and bitter green salad...to the delicious steak, halibut, and pots de creme and olive oil cake for dessert. What an absolute treat, made only better by the attentive and congenial waitstaff that made you feel like a regular. Oh, and the drinks - the mixologist at the bar created a perfect drink every time! And thanks for coming to say hello, Kaitlyn! Cannot recommend this place enough - do not let the strip mall locale deter you - this place is worth it in every way! First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
