A fun place for drinks and cocktails. I got the Let That Mango cocktail - mango, tequila and jalapeño - what a great combination and so good. My SIL got the Summer Sangria and she also enjoyed it. The Crostini was my favorite out of the two appetizers we got. It has whipped ricotta, grilled peaches, topped with a drizzle of honey and pistachio on lightly toasted bread. So good and creamy with a hint of sweetness from the peaches and honey. Definitely recommend. The cauliflower was good also. For some reason I had bang bang cauliflower in the brain when I ordered it so I was expecting a different flavor. Once I realized what I really ordered it was good...not crazy good but we enjoyed it. We had fun sitting outside on a beautiful day and our waitress was great. We will have to come by and have a meal next time. read more

The Bar on West & Main has been on my must-visit list for awhile. I've been watching along on social media as they built out and couldn't wait to come support this women-owned business. This was my first visit of many. We sat at the bar (equipped with bar books for your purse) and while they were busy, service and spirits were good all around. We started out with the wings and calamari. Both were tasty and I especially enjoyed the sauce with the calamari. For my main, I enjoyed the jalapeño burger. It was juicy and cooked to perfection, but the star of the show was the best figgin' mule. It was a delicious cocktail that went down far to easily. I'm looking forward to my next visit. The menu has a bunch of choices that caught my eye (the shrimp po boy) and I hear the chef will have some specials too! read more

Love this place! I have been going for years but am only now writing a review! The service is outstanding, the atmosphere is welcoming, the food is great and the cocktails are fun!! They have a nice beer list and change it up from time to time. Their theme nights are always fun. I think it is important to note that these owners are young women with young families. They give back to the community over and over again with their fund raising, pocket book filling events, adopt a family at Christmas, and food pantry donations. Their kindness and generosity is noted and appreciated. read more

A year ago I gave them 5 stars and pictured the BOWM becoming the coolest little gastropub and I was so happy that it was walking distance for my wife and I. Times have changed, and not for the better. Don't get me wrong I'm not mad at BOWM, they are making $$ but they have fully embraced being a bar and gotten away from being a in the know restaurant. Some examples: they have expanded their menu and are now phoning it in. It's not the epic culinary experience it was this time last year. Also they always have someone playing guitar or spinning tunes and it's consistently profanity driven "entertainment " (last time I was there the fella and his father playing guitar played us a lovely ditty about their penis. Over dinner. At 7:00 pm.). They have some upcoming theme nights coming up- the one I'm looking forward most to is the "white trash redneck bash". Staff is still very nice here and I wish them well at the bar but I believe that this is where we part ways. read more

I just stumbled in on The Bar on West & Main grand opening day (Jan 10, 2023) for dinner with my daughter! Typically I like to wait a few months before a restaurant opening day to dine so they have opportunities to work the kinks out, but they are operating as if they've been open for months. The place was hopping for a Tuesday night, about 3/4 filled. It's located in the Saw Mill Plaza at the corner of West Road and Main St (hence the name!). Plenty of parking too. We were greeted and seated promptly by friendly staff. They have a nice cocktail menu (range $10-$13) and also "smoky" cocktails which...hum...not sure what it entails but will have to try next time I'm not with my daughter! Decent beer selection but I opted for a fig mojito instead (yum). The menu is American cuisine with burgers, sandwiches, salad, soup, and entrees like fish & chips, steak fries, etc. They also offer a menu for the little ones, yay for that! I got the fish and chips that came with a basket of fries, tartar sauce and pea puree. Yup! It's actually really good, like a mashed potato texture but with peas. I feel good that I'm getting my veggie in while eating a battered fried fish. The cod was perfectly cooked, moist with crispy fluffy batter. My daughter had the chicken tenders with fries. I had a bite of her chicken and can tell that they freshly dipped the batter instead of buying the premade tenders because the chicken tasted like real chicken instead of over-processed frozen nuggets. This is also the first time I've seen my daughter eat all of the chicken tenders FIRST before her fries! We truly enjoyed our meal. Don't wait to check out this place! As a bonus, it's women owned. I couldn't resist sharing my absolute favorite bar in Pleasant Valley West and Main. This place is hands done the best spot in town to catch all the sports action. The crew is absolutely lovely,led by Alex and Ari with the help of the amazing employees Lindsey,Stevie,Alex the barbarian, Ryan, Taylor, Kelly, newly hire Lauren and the talented chef Harder. Forgot to mention Alex and Ari husband for being the backbone of the bar. They work together to curate an amazing menu that will leave your taste buds in awe. Just stopped in to the restaurant for the first time. The bar tender greeted me at the door and introduced herself to me. She was very friendly and made sure I had what I needed. I started with a beer and some calamari, which were very good and came with a spicy dipping sauce. I ended up having another beer and the "West and Main" burger. Also very good. This is just a very nice, friendly, casual neighborhood restaurant. The menu isn't big but that they want to do what they do well. read more

Went to this bar in a hidden mini strip mall, place was so small they had a line out front waiting to get out n. We gave up waiting in the cold after 20 minutes. Might be back if we don't see a line out front. Can't give them a good rating if we can't even get in! read more

The food was very good. Had the jalapeño burger and it was really good. I ordered medium rare since no matter where I go, medium is always well done. Well, it came out just right. This place was an amazing discovery for us. Our regular pub was unexpectedly closed, and we were looking for a convenient place to eat. My husband had the lobster roll and green beans. He said that the lobster roll was a generous portion and the green beans had a beautiful smoky flavor- another generous portion. All delicious. I had a Caesar salad and General Tsao's cauliflower, which is award-winning and very deserving of the award as it was excellent. Not only was the food excellent, but our server Ryan was so friendly. He told us that they have live music sometimes and pointed out a beautiful outdoor lighted area, which we could not sit in since it was a rainy night. there was great attention to detail and lovely design in the place. Very attractive. Everyone there called out goodbye to us as we left. It's a really nice cozy pub atmosphere with good food. This is much needed in this area. We just had the chance to check out this new place for dinner. It was a busy Saturday night and 6:30. The place was very busy - a good sign. Our wait was minimal. The waitress was friendly and fun. We did not get her name though. We did not get water offered. We were asked if we wanted to order drinks and requested a wine list - pretty basic - no vineyards listed and no prices either. I think they are more focused on cocktails which, though we don't drink them, they look pretty good. We ordered burgers which were cooked to the requested degree - that did impress. Ambiance is o.k. - it was a bit cold for our liking but hey it was a cold night. For a local spot it's going to be good. Went there last night. It was extremely cold inside and you had to sit on metal chairs. It was very cold outside and no second door to stop the air from coming in when someone opened the door. I thought is was cold due to that, but my wife went into the bathroom and it was freezing.I am not sure if there was a problem with their heat or what the issue was. Most people we seen were eating with their coats on as were some people at the bar. We had the Fried Calamari for our appetizer which was very good. My wife had the General Tso's Crispy Cauliflower for her meal, it was very tasty. I had the Jalapeno Burger which I ordered medium rare. It came out very rare, a lot of it was raw. I should have sent it back, but I didn't. I didn't eat it all so showed the waitress. She apologized a couple of times and offer me another beer or a dessert on the house. I didn't take her up on it because we were freezing. She was very attentive but very busy. There was a young man Tyler that was busing the tables, he was great, was quick, cleaned each table and was very polite. We will give it another try, as they are a new restaurant/bar and need to work the kinks out. read more
