I had overdosed on heroin on 8/17/17 and an angel sent me to New Start telling me that I would go for detox and then to a longer term facility where I would be safe and taught how to get my life back together without the use of drugs and alcohol. When my detox discharged me and brought me to SeaCliff I was so terrified. I was angry, I had so much self hate, I had no self worth and I felt hopeless. The staff immediately assured me that those feelings were temporary and that it would get better. It did. I met the owner, Daryll, that day. He had an open door policy. Daryll ended up being like an Uncle to me. From day 1 he let me know that I was important and he believed in me. Then I met my counselor Dave. Dave was another one, he had been through hell and back like myself so we related. With those 2, the therapist, the support staff and the 12 step fellowship, I began to grow into a woman who stopped hating myself and everyone else. I actually started recognizing my worth, I learned boundaries, I learn how to have relationships with my family and friends, I learned how to help others, they gave me the freedom to get a sponsor and go out and work those 12 steps like my life depended on it because it did and then get my own sponsee and help her, and now I have 9 months free from active addiction. I graduated from the program at Seacliff and now I live on my own, just 4 miles away. The team helped me make a plan so that I'm close by because my blood family lives on the East Coast. My Seacliff family is just a quick ride away and I stay close to them, my meetings are right down the road, my sponsor is right down the road, Daryl and Dave are just a phone call away as well as the support staff. Although I graduated they are still here for me just like they were when I was in their facility. Just because you graduate doesn't mean you have to leave their family. That facility literally saved my life. They taught me how to live again. They had simple rules that I respected, they took me to meetings everyday, I attended their groups everyday, they had fun events for us, I had never been in a treatment center which had such a family setting that taught me so much about living free from active addiction at the same time. Every time I had a bad day I would run into Dave's office or Darryl's office and when I would make mountains out of mole hills they would say we can get through this this is not the end of the world and they would handle the problem. Words can't express my gratitude nor explain the benefits I've reaped from SeaCliff Treatment Center. I've been to MANY rehabs but not like this. I've been to the fanciest, I've been to the institutionalized ones... this place is the best because I nevet felt like I was actually cared about like I was here. I had the freedom to go out and adult, get my sponsor and get busy with the program after my SeaCliff Responsiblities were handled for the day. I would never go anywhere else after being here... There are so many other amazing staff members at SeaCliff and so many awesome things that go on there and I am blessed that I get yo go there and be an example for the new clients and show them that it works. God willing I never have to go to treatment again as a client. I could keep writing for days about this place! If you follow the program and the rules that SeaCliff has and get a sponsorand work the 12 steps then you can live this amazing life that I have found too!!!! Thank you guys for being super loving and caring and expecting nothing in return but respect and hard work. Another perk was that it's 3 blocks from the beach.

I was put in the middle of two beds and left there. I could not move from my back surgery. I just laid there. It was very late. I hadn't eaten. They said I missed dinner. Finally a nurse said do I want a pbj? I said yes. But, no water no nothing. Again, I can't move. No evening meds. I said I was way past due for my pain meds and evening meds they said they were waiting on st Joseph records. I said its been 15 hrs! They showed me the reports, they had double pages. I showed them how simple it was to tell them what to send. Or just REESEND,the ENTIRE report. Im the PATIENT, why am I problem solving? In the meantime only one or two of meds all wrong time of day. The never answer call button. I was by this time off serious meds, no pain meds and no dr came in. Two PT techs came in got me up and they were saying how good I was! And surprised I was there. No meds, mentally exhausted, physically strained in pain and just laid in bed. They Again showed me a report. I Again said u can see the errors of the pages not sent! Then, one morning a dr was in room talking to nurses, I yelled hey, who is this? I haven't been examined! Dr Victoria is tried to ask why he removed my regular m eds? I was there for back rehab! He said he wouldn't give me the doses. I hadn't had my meds in days, no decent meal, no juice, no crackers no nothing. He finally said he'd only do one. Left. Where was I? Im really scared at this point. Oh, then a worker came in and said my mom and family was asking questions and if they could release info. I said absolutely not! Come to find out info was released. I was only there for a short amount of time before We transferred to another program. When we decided to transfer, the staff highly insisted that they wanted to pack our belongings for us. We were totally cool to pack them ourselves but we appreciated the favor since we had some paperwork to do before we could leave the facility anyways. We I checked with the gentleman staff who packed our bags - named Adam- and he insisted that he had gotten 100% of our items. We believed him. When he went to drop us off and we went to unload our stuff, we realize that roughly 40 maybe almost 50% of our stuff was missing. Including two of our huge suitcases. After we realize that we were missing tons of our items, we called the facility and told them everything we were missing. After about 10 days of calling up there every day and fighting with several people they decided to have a driver run the suitcases out to us. When they got to us they were completely empty. Missing all of us items inside then. These items add up to nearly 7/800$ worth of cosmetics, clothes, shoes, a skateboard, etc. We you then called Adam again and explain to him that they forgot to put everything back inside her suitcases. ---it has now been well over 30 days since we had it last of the facility. And we have called over 20 Times to talk to Adam or anyone that would even listen to us. We were told over and over that this will get fixed. We are a couple of 20-year-olds in sober living and don't have the means to replace all kinds of new items. It seems like this is not an important task for them at all to return property to them. If they would have let us pack and load her own items likely insisted upon at the beginning, none of would have ever happened. It is quite a shame that because one guy in the company - Adam- who runs the detox/ residential houses can not spend 5-10 minutes gathering our items out of the garage to let us come pick up. Makes it seem like they have given our stuff away or thrown it out. I personally do NOT recommend this facility if you want you and your stuff to be treated with respect. We just want our belongings back.

I am writing this review for the person reading this who is looking for a solution and answer to…read morethe utter desperation, hopelessness, and brokenness they are feeling in life. After 3 DUI's, numerous issues with the law, and a life full of emptiness, I was at rock bottom. New Life Sprit Recovery changed my life, and until this day, 4 years later, I am still attending weekly bible studies at group sessions there--offered life long to any alumni. When my mom found this place I admit, I didn't think this "bible thumper" place was for me. I wanted to go to a "real" place I thought. What I found out was, I didn't' need to know what I was doing to my body while on drugs and alcohol. I needed to know WHY. The moment I walked in on that day to tour the house, the amount of peace and love that fell upon me was unreal. It was very apparent what was missing in my life. God's Love. His words of truth, telling me I was worthy, loved, and a daughter of the King. Words I had never ever heard before (yet I called myself a Christian) After the first week, time flew by, chains fell off me, and miracles happened. I loved being there and tried to stay an extra 30 days even! What other "rehab" would that happen at?! It was insane! I can honestly say that if it wasn't for New Life, I am not sure I would be around today. Every person on staff there is God ordained to be there and true servants of God. Everyone there has been through their own struggles, can relate, and can offer you words of encouragement, advice, and genuine love. Some of my best friends I met there, and know they will be with me to the end. I was in the center with some people who had been to NINE different rehabs, and said nothing had worked and broke their barriers, until then. This place isn't about being locked down and coddling you for 30 or 60 days. They want to set you free, and find out why you are doing the things you area doing. I never even knew why myself!! By still being connected to New Life, I see lives change daily from people coming and leaving. This place is a blessing to anyone who comes near it and I consider it a privilege to have had the experience I have had through it. If anyone would like to talk to me personally about my experience, please feel free to message me. I wish anyone and everyone could go through New Life. Everyone in this world is broken, some turn to drugs and alcohol, others turn to anger, depression, ect. We all need healing. Some just realize it sooner than later. I know it might be scary, but I promise that if you are reading this, God is working in your life, and if you make the decision, no matter how scary and uncomfortable it feel...you will not regret it! You will be set FREE!

They allowed me to tour the house late after work at 9pm. I ended up staying for over an hour and just talked life with one of the managers. I decided I was in the right place. I had a pleasant experience the second time around as the receptionist was kind and sympathetic to my situation. So far I've seen two therapists and both of them were wonderful! They listened to my concerns, took initial measurements of my mobility, and made sure I was comfortable and informed. They used a variety of techniques and tools to help strengthen and stretch my hand after my injury. With the daily exercises at home between my appointments, I am already seeing big improvements in my mobility and strength in my hand. The owner, Scott, was one of my therapists and he was very kind and open to hearing from me. I am the mother of a child in recovery and I am confident that R & R (Road to Recovery) has to be…read morestudied and emulated as the optimal model for success in recovery. Our family has had several attempts at recovery, and by far R &R offers the most productive approach! Here are a few differences, in my opinion, between the R &R program and the offerings of the majority of well-intentioned, but poorly structured rehab solutions: 1. A long-term integrated and progressive program with a focus on the individual needs in recovery Most of the Rehab's offer 30 days stay (that is what the insurance would normally cover). After this short period, the person in the very early stage of recovery is given a referral to an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a recommendation for a Clean and Sober Living facility. At the very best, the staff of the rehab has some general familiarity with the transitional places that they recommend, but there is hardly any follow up or coordination among rehab, IOP and Clean and Sober Living. Clean and Sober Living facilities are not well-regulated, and the chances that your loved one will wind up in the environment that is less than optimal for the recovery are actually very high. R & R, in contrast, has all the steps of the recovery accommodated under one roof, so to speak. From rehab the person transitions to an intensive IOP that is integrated with Clean and Sober Living: same general location, same team of counselors, same group of recovering men who attend the IOP together and support each other in Recovery at Clean and Sober Living. The IOP program is excellent! It is very engaging; it is based in solid research and staffed by true professionals. The transportation between IOP and Clean and Sober is provided, and the Clean and Sober facility is extremely well supervised without being oppressive. There is a sense of true camaraderie and optimism among the recovering community! 2. Medical and Therapeutic Support The medical staff at a typical rehab is composed primarily of nurses who are usually great at the initial steps of recovery that involves detox, but they are not trained in a professional support that is specific to addiction recovery. Therapy normally focuses on the behavioral aspects, and groups are commonly led by well-intentioned but barely trained individuals. The engagement of the person in recovery dwindles very quickly; groups become "same old," and half of the time in rehab is spent in lingering - "doing time." R & R offers real addiction doctors, serious professional therapists trained in several modalities. The IOP program is progressive - from intense to more relaxed, and it is timed according to the individual circumstances of the participant. IOP covers many salient aspects of recovery in a truly engaging and challenging context that is reminiscent of the best university seminars. 3. Involvement with the 12-Step Programs Most of the rehabs will take patients to the nearby AA meetings and recommend that recovering addicts continue with attending meetings past their stay in rehab. It is easier said than done. R & R takes men in recovery to the AA meetings daily and provides transportation to the meetings. If the person has a particular preference for certain meetings - they will take him there. The treatment team at R & R knows your loved one's sponsor, knows what step he is working on, supports his progress in AA. 4. Personal Accommodations R & R goes out of its way to accommodate existing personal support in recovery! They will take you to appointments when necessary, help with job search, interviews, school applications. 5. Recovery is Fun at R & R! Ryan and Dylan (two super-dedicated, high-energy, deeply caring co-founders of R & R) take groups of guys in recovery to sports events, concerts, to the beach and beyond. Ryan and Dylan bring joy back into the lives of the recovering men who have suffered so much in addiction. 6. Communication and the Safety Cloud When your loved one stays in rehab, staff and treatment team will give you updates, but once he or she transitions to IOP and Clean and Sober Living - all updates are over. As a parent or a spouse, you are left in the dark with your constant fear of relapse. I have not waited for more than 30 minutes for a response to my text message to Ruin or Dylan. You can request and schedule a phone update any time; you can get in touch with the manager at Clean and Sober Living any time. And if, God forbid, a relapse happens - all the help is right there to attend to the problem! This is such a great relief! I cannot express how happy I am that my child is recovering in this unique program! I would hope that any person suffering from addiction finds such great care!
