An amazing place for a birthday party…read more We've been to a lot of birthday parties. I have two sons, ages five and three, both in school, so throughout the year we get invited to tons of birthday parties. This has got to be one of my favorite locations to date for this age. It was honestly perfect for a three year old. Yes, some of the areas are patched up with duct tape, so it's not state of the art, but both my three year old and I didn't care at all. I felt like it was clean and he had a blast. For birthday parties you get 80 minutes of play and then 60 minutes in a private party room (I know this because I loved this place so much I grabbed a flier that gave birthday information.) The 80 minutes flew by. That really is saying something, because at many birthdays with a three year old sometimes it lags, but here we all looked at our watches and said omg it's been an hour. That's because this is the perfect location for the (I would guess) eight and under set. My three year old was climbing up all the bouncey slides with his friends and they were flying down them. It was adorable to watch and I didn't have to be hands on at all. I could stand and chat with other parents while they climbed up the slides again and again and again. Then we moved over to the section that is more like a play place. Again they were completely fine climbing by themselves. Only twice did a parent have to go up to help their child (and tbh I don't think those parents had to, but they were just more worried than I was.) The room was a good size for the 10 kids or so this party had plus around 15 adults. It definitely looked like it could fit the 24 children that the largest party size holds. More of an FYI than anything negative, but it was a little warm the day we came. It was cool outside so I was dressed in a long sleeve shirt and shorts. It wasn't uncomfortable, but had I known I would have worn short sleeves. I asked about pricing and heard it is $16 for a full day pass. That seems reasonable to me. I could see myself bringing both kids in the future and letting them run their energy out. On a Sunday at 10 a.m. it was just our little party to start off with and by 11:20 a.m. it still wasn't that crowded. It might have been because it was a lovely day, but I appreciated that it wasn't crawling with kids. They also have an arcade section that you have to pay for. The arcade accepts credit/debit cards too. I told my son no, but it's an option. I will definitely be back.

This park has a playground and a splashpad for kids, a small skateboard/bike area for kids, a dog park pavillions for picnics, restrooms by the play area and dog park and a really nice long walking path around the huge pond. There is also a small stage near the big open field so it would be a good location for concerts. The park is on county land adjacent to a water treatment plant, which supplies the pond with reclaimed water. What a great use of space! I will bet most people wouldn't notice that but I work for another local government so I notice those things. Lots of people were out enjoying the nice weather. People with their kids in the kids area, people with their pets in the pet atea and people like me shopping for plants. They also had some food trucks out and staff/volunteers directing traffic and keeping things nice. Again, great venue for a festival in the heart of Carrollwood Village.

We just let the kids bowl so they got through close to two games. There were three children total. They say you can eat the food and drinks in that area, which is nice. However, the way their food and drinks work is you go and order at a kiosk and then they bring it out so you pick up. They do text you, but we totally missed the text that said the food was ready so it wasn't hot by the time we got it. On a Sunday there weren't that many people eating in the food area. I actually really appreciate that you put in your order and then you get a text, it is much more convenient than having to sit and be waited on. They have California pizza kitchen pizzas and they're actually really good. It was very thin crust and the 14 inch probably could've fed my entire family. The kids also love the curly fries. I thought it was funny because you can choose either fries or curly fries, I chose fries and they came out curly so I guess you really can't choose. My younger son wanted the rainbow Road pancakes. Future Christina do not get the pancakes. He didn't eat any of it. However, the kids demolished all the fries and each ate a piece of pizza so that was a win. As always, the kids played a ton of arcade games. This time we spent $20 per card and let them run around with our friend playing. I was surprised how not busy this place is on a Sunday around noon. That is definitely great for us, but I hope this place stays in business then.

It's so nice having a playground so close to Armature Works…read more I think an idyllic afternoon is grabbing a bite to eat and a drink at Armature Works and then walking with the kids to this playground/splash pad. There are restrooms here that make it easy to change your children into their bathing suits. They also have shaded picnic tables. The splash pad and playground is gated so you can let the kids run around inside while you sit and chat on the outside of the gate at the shaded picnic tables. I would highly recommend bringing swimsuits and all your water stuff if you decide to come here, because the playground part is quite small and in the same area as the splash pad. They aren't separated, so your child will most likely get wet whether you want them to or not if you come here, better to just prepare for them to get wet. The splash pad has one of those buckets that fill up and then dump all over the children, which I find kids absolutely love. There is also a ropes climbing part that they can get to a crows nest, so I would say the ideal age for this play area is between four and 10. I have a five year-old and a seven-year-old and they loved it.

Who knew there would be a rock gym in the area of Tampa I grew up in?!…read more When I was a teen, this was a Circuit City. I camped out here on Thanksgiving to get a cheap laptop on Black Friday. I'm currently still recovering from a climbing related injury and am in a wrist brace, so I brought my nieces and nephews here. Ali was great and got us started on the paperwork at the front desk. I was instantly bummed that they don't have roped routes. The climbing here is 100% bouldering. They have very basic routes labeled VB which were great for the kids to play out. They also have super-juggy holds to down climb on so you don't have to take massive falls if you don't want to. The gym was impeccably clean, as were the rental shoes. This is probably the cleanest climbing gym I've ever been to. They also offer communal chalk so you don't have to bring your own. The bathrooms are also pristine and there's even a SAUNA in each of them! My rock gym in Anchorage doesn't gave one of those and it costs 20% more to climb there! I loved the little wall with all the employees and their favorite types of climbing. Ali is also a trad climber, I knew there was a reason I liked her!
