Stopped in for a couple sandwiches on a trip. I had a southwest chicken wrap which gave me stomach cramps (not fun on a long trip). I think the chicken wasn't very high quality and the sauce as well. The wife had a pesto turkey sandwich which I tried and tasted good. She had no stomach issues. So... order wisely. The coffee looked good but I had already had 2 coffees and it was getting late for coffee. It's not far from the highway and definitely a step up from most chain establishments. read more

This place was not easy to find. The Yelp GPS fix sent me blocks away from the address and when I used the address for a fix with the default GPS, I found a small shopping center, a sign in an empty storefront saying "Coffeetree", a note on the door it had moved, but nothing about a "Fuzzy Duck". After more aimless searching, I checked Yelp again and discovered a quick tip from a kind person who wrote that the Fuzzy Duck had moved to Main street. I did some more squint screen research on the phone browser and found an address on East Main near the college. I drove there, but still couldn't find the store. I parked and walked the street looking for the address and a store sign. I still might have missed it except I noticed a couple of guys exiting a store ahead of me with coffee cups in their hands. I'd detoured several miles and spent over an hour finding the place and the coffee and pastry and the ambiance of a small coffee shop attached to an independent bookstore came close to making it all worthwhile. I couldn't stay long, but I would have liked to. I've uploaded a picture for other out of towners trying to find the Fuzzy Duck. Look for the bright yellow trim on the building and the big yellow star in the window, the store marquee is very hard to see unless you are standing directly across the street. I like coffee as long as it's dressed up enough not to resemble coffee. All I had to do is tell them this and they were on it!I They made me a special coffee with a great flavor! They weren't disgusted that I knew nothing of their trade... they just helped me. My husband said their hot chocolate is the best he has ever encountered. They also offer hot chocolate versions of some of their coffees for non coffee drinkers (Sleigh Ride, for instance). Maggie Moo is the choice for the kiddo's. They have a great assortment of tea for purchase as well (I don't know if they brew it there though). The pastries look very appealing but I did not venture down that road. A sad note: They are not open on Sunday. read more

I went to MSU for several years and always loved my visits here. Always a quaint, pleasant atmosphere. Food & coffee was always good. As an alumni, I visited yesterday with excitement, only to be disappointed. I ordered a orange dreamsicle smoothie that wasn't filled up all the way. My boyfriend ordered the comfort sandwich..there was hardly anything on it. I ordered the southwest panini..it was okay. Nothing great compared to what I've had before. We felt ripped off. And I paid around $20.00 for all that. Probably not getting any lunch type of food from them again since the portions were so skimpy. read more

This is a horrible place to go to purchase books. The people (i.e. owner and employees) were very rude. my sister and i would go in once a week in the summer and stay for at most an hour to wait for our mother, who would meet us there, and she would purchase a book or two we were looking at plus something for her. Thus, spending more than $50 because they are so expensive.Then one day they told us we weren't to return without our mom. because we "spent all day there" and "never purchased anything". The only customers they want are college kids, and i can't help but wonder if a college kid spent all their time there not buying anything would they be disrespected? probably not because they were the one thing my sister and i weren't, college kids. we haven't been there in five years, they're on our "Banned List". avoid this place and save your money. read more

They have moved from the location listed on here! They are now on Main Street!!! It used to be an old theater and still has the look of one on the outside! Downside, you have to park across the street, but it is free public parking. This is one of my favorite local places! The pastries and cookies are always great, something yummy is always available for lunch and the coffee is a amazing! They have different blends and flavors to suit your tastes and will grind it right there for you or sell you the whole beans! The flavor of the day coffee is always super cheap! I like a latte or a hot chocolate in the winter (if you like mint and chocolate, try a sleigh ride!) and in the summer a Ginger peach sweet tea always hits the spot! read more

I'm usually just a plain coffee drinker but was craving something sweet so I ordered a frappe. I was expecting it to be chocolate-flavored coffee, but I could taste no coffee whatsoever and it was just aspartame-tasting chocolate ice. Ick! Fortunately they were very nice & replaced my drink with an iced coffee free of charge. As a former barista I know this type of thing can be annoying, but they were extremely gracious and nice about it. read more

From what I was able to determine, this is THE place to get a decent cup of coffee in Morehead. I have a tendency to like my coffee on the strong side, and it was so nice to find a place that made a good latte. My brother and his wife both enjoyed the caramel mocha joe, and my wife, who is the pickiest coffee drinker around, thought their regular coffee was "OK", which is an admirable seal of approval coming from her. Friendly help, quick service, pleasant surroundings, and it's situated inside a bookstore (CoffeeTree Books) which means you can have the whole Borders experience on a much smaller and more enjoyable scale. read more

I can not visit my hometown without coming here at least twice (or 3 times) a day. I love the variety of coffees - although I usually stick to my Caramel Joe (sugar free, no whip), iced toddy after a long morning run, or Sleigh Ride around the holidays. Love when they give out free treat samples, and their yogurt parfaits are a great light breakfast. Oh, and did I mention their potato soup?? Get it when they have it. You won't regret it. read more

Enjoyed the Greek Pita for a light dinner. Pita was warm, soft, and fluffy; hummus was delicious; and portion size was perfect.

Yummy food, especially the grilled chicken wrap! However, the management should be aware that it's a real GROSS - OUT to be served by an employee in her pajama bottoms! Take a shower and brush your hair --- don't look like you've just crawled out of bed to serve me my food. There are sanitation regulations afterall! Note: I really prefer the service of the Fuzzy Duck on campus better. Better food, better service in a cozier environment. read more

I am an avid coffee drinker and this cafe hits the spot. I normally get the darkest roast they have in a French press. The cashier/barista typically brings it to your table while it brews and gives you your cups. You are allowed to pour it yourself and it gives it a more cozy feeling. For the French press coffee it's only about $2.50 for a press that serves 3 people; a lot cheaper than Starbucks. I would highly recommend this place to coffee drinkers a like. read more

Great little coffee or tea spot on Main Street. I always drop by here whenever I come back to town. They have really good wraps as well. The benedictine spread is my fav, but the pimento cheese is a close second. The bookstore in the back is one of the best local shops in town. Lots of interesting items back there and great seating areas for just you or a large group. Overall this is a great little mashup and really worth the trip. read more

Was brought here by friends, who are locals, and it was good. Bookstore and college feel. I got the Dreamcicle drink and my wife got the peppermint latte, and both were yummy. Kids got the Maggie Moo hot chocolate and loved it. Good stuff. read more

I LOVE the Fuzzy Duck! I haven't tried their food as of yet but their coffee is YUMMMMMM! They have great baked goods too! Going to the Duck, using the free WiFi and having a great cup of coffee is the highlight of my day! Staff are uber friendly and always helpful. I used to visit as much as possible, but after a complicated issue with the woman responsible for distributing consigned books, I began to see that this business has been straddling the line of over priced and highway robbery for many years, but particularly after relocating. Several years ago, I consigned a few spare copies of a book I wrote to the store. I met with the woman who I think may be a part owner or manager. She refused to corporate with an arrangement similar to what I had made with other bookstores. Because I had always enjoyed the fuzzy duck, I reluctantly agreed to her deal, and consigned three books, with the understanding that I would only receive a very small portion of sales AFTER all three copies had sold. All three sold within a month, and I was assured by a cashier that they were gone, but told I'd have to come back for my payment when this woman was at the store. When I returned a couple days later, she treated me with disrespect, was condescending, and blatantly lied about my books being sold. She refused to give me my meager payment. This happened several more times, and finally I just gave up. She is dishonest and shady, and it makes perfect sense when you look at the overall astronomical prices on things (especially in the cafe) that aren't worth half of what they charge. Needless to say i refuse to step foot in their establishment, and I wouldn't be surprised if eventually other people stop going too. read more
