We received a brass Stiffel lamp 40 years ago as a wedding gift, and it was a corroded mess by the time I sent the pieces off to Anthony. I'd tried to clean it up, and only made it worse, polishing through the brass to the underlying casting in places. The quoting process was a snap - I took a couple of photos of the pieces, provided approx. diameters and total weight, and got back an estimate that was reasonable. Communication during the refinishing process wasn't so good; I had to e-mail a couple of times to get status, estimated completion dates, and information about the payment process. At the end, I filled out a credit charge authorization form, and got back a charge $20 higher than the estimate and authorized amount (you should clarify whether the estimate includes return shipping; next time I will). The pieces came back, beautifully refinished, polished, and laquered. I reassembled the lamp, and it's back in service, much better than it has been for the past 35 years!

He first spent about 30 minutes checking the unit, then gave me the price and left to buy the part. After that, he spent another 2.5 hours fixing his car before coming back. When he returned, he spent less than 30 minutes repairing the unit and then rushed to leave because he had another job. While he was here, he complained that the attic was too hot and even asked for help fixing his car. The AC worked right after he repaired it, but it stopped working again within 30 minutes. Since he had already left, I contacted him and asked him to come back to fix it again. He came back the next day but did not really do anything. He said the unit was making sound and running. He didn't even go up to the attic to double check again. so he claimed the outside unit needed to be cleaned. He then quoted me $400 per unit, for a total of $1,200 to clean three units, which I believe was extremely overpriced. I told him to clean only one unit first so we could see if the AC would work, but he refused and left immediately. On the same day, I had to call another company to schedule service. I paid another $200 for the repair, plus $290 to clean the outside unit, and the AC has worked without any issues since then. The other specialist told me that DC Air had installed the replacement part in the wrong area, which caused the unit to stop working again. I found this company on Yelp and saw that it had a Yelp Guarantee, but after this experience, I no longer trust these so-called reviews and guarantees. He also noticed that the electrical box under the sink for our dishwasher was missing a cover, a potential danger. He had the missing part with him, and fixed that problem also. Ruben is skillful, knowledgeable, professional, reasonably priced, and a very nice person. In the future our 70 year old house will need repairs and updating.
