Brother in law took his Ford F150 to G&G for a check engine light. Was told his intake manifold needed new gaskets. They replaced the gaskets and charged $1200 for the job. After multiple visits and getting the run around, the issue remains. They are completely taking advantage of.someone that isn't mechanically knowledgeable and not fixing the issue. Earlier this year, I took my 2019 Mazda CX5 in for an oil leak. They charged me $79 for a "colored dye" inspection. 30 minutes later they tell me it's a timing chain cover leak. Well, they say they have to dismantle the engine partially to get to the timing chain . Charge: $1,308 ( mostly for labor). I got my car back, came home and cleaned the oil spots off my driveway. The next day there new oil spots. I was so mad at G and G; I took my car to Big Brands who told me the leak was coming from the oil pan gasket. Another $350! Finally got it stopped. I do not trust G and G and neither should you. They used to be reputable. Not anymore. read more

Took my Uncle's 2001 Lincoln Towncar in for an oil change. I scheduled for 3:00 and handed them the keys at 2:55 and they took it straight to the back to get started. It only took them 30 minutes to complete the job. With a coupon, it was $59.99 plus tax for a full synthetic oil change. Kyle is the gentleman that helped me and he was great. Bought a used Land Rover a few months ago and took it to this place to service the air conditioning. $180 but got it done. They offered me a free oil change when I could come in, I brought it in a month or so later because I was getting a gearbox fault on the dash and it was acting up. We discussed the fault and determined to change the transmission fluid and I assumed they would address the fault problem. Way over priced on the transmission service $1100 which I checked around and it should've been more around $600 even for a Rover. Drove it around for a couple of days and the gearbox fault started again, I took it back to them to diagnose it, and they told me it would be almost &10,000 unbelievable! I said forget that, I researched that to and again $1800 to $3600 even for a Rover. They were talking about parts from the dealer and I said you can get aftermarket for way cheaper. Anyway they also don't tell you what they charge per hour for labor$220hr that's crazy, anyway $1400 still not fixed read more

Above and beyond my expectations. Happy I took my car here. I brought my own parts and was quoted fairly.

My car was hit by a tech a few days in. I was informed a month later they finally got insurance approval to have it repaired. After another month they did the mechanical work. I was told there was an mis diagnosis so I paid $750 more than I was quoted. I was very understanding things happen. But 2 weeks later and my check engine light came back on. I took it back to see if it was related to the prior work. I was charged $330 for more diagnostics that I did not want. Then told it was unrelated and the cost would be $1,400. Needless to say I declined the work and paid for diagnostics that I didn't want. I was curious as to why the first round of diagnostics didn't catch the issue. But of course the had an excuse. They are also somewhat overpriced, but I thought I was paying for quality. Sadly within two or three blocks there are several repair shops I could have used. But I guess the lesson here is live and learn. I really hope to save other people from experiencing what I did. read more

So we have gone to G & G for many years and on different cars. They used to be so good and we never felt as thought we were getting the shaft, when Don was there. We know, people move on. We had stopped using them because they would make an appointment days/week ahead, and then they'd tell us they needed the car for a few days because they were too busy (it's good to be busy) and they couldn't do the work (happened to us twice) My wife took her Honda there recently to have an oil change and the young man inside tells her she needs new brakes, new rotors and a brake fluid flush and replacement. Around $1,200.00. Mmm I wanted a Second opinion. So we took it to a tire shop down the street and they told us she needed new pads in the front only. So about 20% of what this service writer wanted. Had my truck for 10 days and never called to give me updates. I always had to call to get information and they told me they dropped the ball and messed up. I was told it would be ready on the 9th day. They never called and would not return my call at the end of the day. The next day I was told the technician didn't show up and it would not be ready that day either. They gave me a 10% discount on parts. I asked for a 10% discount on the whole $2300 bill. I brought my car in on Thursday, July 29. My reasoning for bringing my car in was the car stopped on me suddenly while driving. On Friday I received a thank you how is your car automated message from G and G however I had not received my car back nor have I received a phone call with any update. I had to call them back and let them know that I do not have my car and they still had it. I called back on Monday and was advised that they are trying to get the software as they do not have it for my car. My car is a 2010 Chrysler. On Wednesday I finally showed up because I still have not received a call and they advised they were not able to get into my software they do not have what Chrysler requires. My car sat there for seven days and nothing was done. I received my car back and it was completely filthy disgusting. Definitely not the condition that I had left it. Even though nothing had been done and my car sat there for all those 7 days they would not give me back my car unless I paid $118.50 for which they listed as a check engine light. My check engine light was never on was never an issue. I had brought my car in there a few months back for the same issue and they had said they had fixed it and again I paid them. How did they fix my car the last time if they didn't have the software? Yet I still paid? I absolutely believe in paying for services however nothing was done and if they do not have the software to service Chryslers I should've been told that on day one. I have recommended this place is so many people and I will make sure that I I let everybody know the poor service that I had received and I will never go back. What a great find!! I have never been to an auto repair place with the kind of customer service I got at this place! From the moment I walked in I was treated as though I had been a valuable customer for years. I just went in for an oil change and tire rotation, but you'd have thought I was going to spend thousands of dollars on a repair by the way they interacted with me. They were friendly and efficient, and it just had the whole vibe of a knowledgeable, family, friendly business. Their prices are good, but what's better is I felt I was someplace that I could trust their assessment and trust the work they did. As I said I was getting an oil change and the last place I got it changed was the dealership. Actually that's the only place I got it changed before coming to G & G. They discovered that the drain plug had been over tightened, way over tightened. They told me about the problem and right away ordered a new one just in case they couldn't get mine off. About 30 minutes later the guy working on it came in with a big grin on his face and announced he'd gotten it off without any damage to the plug and all the work was done. I will never go anywhere else to get my car serviced. Finding a good honest car repair place full of kind, friendly people that you can trust is such a blessing. Do not trust the positive reviews or their lying, smiling faces in their commercials. I suggested to my 78 year old mother that she take her car that has been overheating to them. They assured her that they drove it 12 miles and left it running with the A/C on and could not get it to overheat. We had it towed there and back due to Covid. She paid them $118 service charge to do absolutely nothing. The very first time she drove it after taking it to them it overheated all the way to the red light dinging. She only drove 1.6 miles to the pharmacy. Then she had to sit and wait for it to cool off before she could drive it back home. They gave her false confidence to even drive it. I am on a road trip to LA from the Bay and my wife and I arrived pretty late last night so we decided to spend the night in Bakersfield. In the morning when we woke up I could not start the car so I had to get it towed. Got my car towed to G&G and a gentlemen by the name of Michael assisted us. He said he couldn't guarantee that he could fix the car, he would do what he could but because it was Friday he couldn't promise. An hour later he gives me a call and says the problem was with the ignition lock cylinder he can fix it but he would have to order the part and it wouldn't arrive until next week. Michael got my car started and I am able to go home. Unfortunately I have to cancel my road trip but glad I can go back home.
