Wow! I have a OLD car with a lot of issues and already had it checked out by a mechanic friend of mine. To be on the safeside I came to G & G (Henry) for a 2nd opinion and he confirmed what the first mechanic had said but gave me more details and explained the issues in a language I could understand. He also gave me options on the solution with a cost estimate. He could of given me the usual false hope like others have done but he didn't. He gave it to me straight and in a professional and honest manner that I appreciated and felt comfortable with. Now I feel much better with what I'm going to do or with what I don't do! I was hearing squealing from my brakes, so took it in fully expecting to pay for a brake job. Also thought I needed a new battery. They removed the tires and checked my brakes. Nope. Probably just dirty. No need for repairs. Battery is down to 87% so will need changing in the near future, but not today. It's so refreshing to find an auto shop that is honest!!! Thank you G & G. I have never brought my truck to a shop that every call the estimate went down. Not up. That was my truck. But I can tell you these cats want to make an honest living. They are not out to scam you. scare you or make you buy anything you don't need. It took us over 8 years after moving to SA as a prior military family to find a garage we can really trust. I went to G&G Automotive because a frind had told me they have always been really to good, fair, and honest with her, and I really needed a second opinion on the brake calipers on my truck. I took my car in another car shop last night to get the oil changed, and when they called me I was told that the right front brake caliper was broken and it was going to cost me $217.00 to fix plus the cost of the oil change and they wanted to flush my radiator for another $50. I thought about it and almost let them go ahead, but then I rememebered my friend telling me about how great the shop that she goes to...G&G. SO opted to take the truck and get it looked at again this morning. They got me in right away, looked it over, then brought me in to show me exactly what they had found. There was NOTHING wrong with the brake calipers on any of the wheels!!! NOTHING! My radiator does have a super slow leak but was somehting I could come back another day to fix, and they showed me exactly where it was leaking from. They quoted me a good price on parts and labor for a new radiator as well. They got me in and out in 1 hour, the other place kept me waiting for more than double that time for bad info. Plus G&G found that they hadn't put a piece back together covering what I think was the air filter. Anyway the people at G&G were great to me. Molly was super friendly and Lionel was the man that worked on my car, both were very knowledgable. Thanks for everything! I will def be back! read more

Super busy shop for it to be run by one man - but the man is a master of his craft! I had a mystery oil leak that a wal-mart oil lube tech told me about (although could not give me a location of the leak) and I had an OEM fuel door assembly that I could not for the life of me swap out myself. I dropped my truck off - and a few short days later - my truck was as good as new. The price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend if you are looking for an honest/reliable mechanic! read more

This is a great place to get your car fixed. I told them my Jaguar needed some brake work done and they told me they wouldn't touch it. I thought it was very honest of them. They had my Truck for 3 weeks, avoided my phone calls. Had to go in person on a day I was working just to tell one of his mechanics to have Kenny call me regarding my truck. I pay that rip off asshole 400.00 to get my truck back like as if they never worked on it. Hell I barely made it home the damn thing. Then I have to have it towed to another Mechanic shop and you should see what a mess they made out of my wiring to my fuse box and never put a fuel pump in like I told them that was wrong with it. These guys are awesome!! I took both my cars in after not having maintenance checks for over two years. I told them, 'do what you gotta do to make them right. I'm driving from SA to Maryland.' Each car needed minor things, spark plugs, air filters, belts, etc. But they could have taken me for anything they wanted. Two cars was about $600 in maintenance (including breaks) and I wish I could take them with me. Talk about a safe and secure environment. If you're in the UC area, take your car here!! read more

I took my 2004 Nissan Titan that had an A/C leak and they fixed it as if the truck was their own. Very professional shop with a "Mom and Pop" feel to it, and they make sure they keep you informed every step during the process. Went there on the recommendation from my brother in law. They replaced the air conditioner system, two months later a magnet in the compressor melted, they replace it again, less than five months later it seized up an blew the fuses, they replaced it again and I was charged almost four hundred this time for labor and freon, the parts were still under warranty. Well, it has stopped working again, but I will no linger take anything to them to be fixed. My brother in law no longer takes his vehicles there as well since he had to take his truck to be repaired some place else after taking it there to have work done. read more

They were very unorganized and could never get anything done unless we checked in every now and then and babysat them. The office worker was very lacking in automotive and parts knowledge. I found out from another customer that when we weren't present, they would speak negatively about us and our vehicle to other customers even though, we were nothing but patient and polite with them. They, then proceeded to rub it in our faces that they were speaking negatively about our vehicle with other customers. We gave them multiple chances but they've proved to not be worth our business. As you can tell by some of the previous reviews, some people just have an axe to grind and don't have much of a problem with stretching the truth. I first came to Glen around 2004. I told him that I only had $500 for the repair and asked for an estimate first. Upon leaving I wanted to kick my self for telling him my budget thinking that the estimate would not probably be $500. That afternoon I called Glen to find out the status of my car. I was shocked and felt a little guilty when he told me that the problem was very simple and that it would be more trouble to take the time to write up a bill then it was worth. He did not charge me for the repair. In the ensuing 11 years I have taken my car to Glen many times and he has always been very honest with me and has always come in under his estimate. Moll, his office manager is also the most knowledgeable lady in the automotive industry. She rocks. I have sent many friends and family to G&G and everyone of them are now very satisfied repeat customers. Glen will treat you right! read more

I called in at this place with one of my cars for a repair. The service was great and they even ran me home after I dropped the car off. The bill was reasonable and a lot less than the main Dealership quote for the job. I then had a mishap with my newer car (one year old) which needed some parts that had to be sourced from the main dealer. Again, the repair was done perfectly at half the cost of the main Dealership! If you are new to the area and are wanting an honest and competent repair shop, this is the one to go to. read more
