Unfortunately, I cannot rate this lower than 1 star. Had absolutely one of the worst experiences with J.E. The car was dropped off with the rear window still attached. When I went to the shop, I noticed that the rear window was torn up. I pointed this issue out to the staff members. These people tried to gaslight me and said that I "dropped off the car as is." Not to mention they added unnecessary charges such as a new starter because one of their techs burnt out the starter. They also made me pay for a new flywheel, which was not needed because they did not service the rear main seal. The car was never the same since then. For the time the car was serviced from them, the car has only moved about 50 miles. read more

My Car was dropped off for repairs and they completely lied about damaging my vehicle! My car seat had a few tears. My window was broken. My doorcards were falling off my door. And the audacity to say it came like that! No communication at all. My car coolant was low. My ac was broken. And my car took forever to be turned on when I left. I found dog hair in my car when I recently detailed it. I dont even own a dog. I had 25 miles left to empty when i brought it with a full tank. I recently discovered my vacuum hose was cracked and its been sitting since it came back. I only bought my vehicle here for a clutch replacement, since it was affordable. I left with my car in shambles. Avoid it unless you have a good lawyer or money burning a hole in your pocket. read more

I hope they are more honest than they were years ago when I took my 1987 Chrysler Conquest to them in 1999. I never wrote anything in a review but this one you must know. I was in the Air Force and got sent from San Antonio to Oklahoma for a 3 month manning assist assignment. (It was actually right under 3 months...after 3 months the Air Force has to do a permanent change of station, PCS). Prior to the assignment, I placed my car in the shop with Japanese Engine. The mechanic was super nice and he was the only person I ever talked to about the car. He informed me that he was having trouble finding parts but would keep me posted. During my assignment, he apparently left Japanese Engine. No one contacted me but I received a letter several weeks into my assignment letting me know I had so much time to come and get my car or they were going to take title of it. I called and someone with a heavy Japanese accent tried to communicate with me unsuccessfully. I drove home (5 hours) on that Saturday to make sure they knew I was not abandoning my car (it's a classic car I'm refurbishing). Got to San Antonio and they were closed! Long story short, I continued to try to communicate with the man and woman with the heavy Japanese accents to no avail. Meanwhile, they took title of my car and TOOK THE TURBO AND THE ALARM SYSTEM OUT OF MY CAR! I ended up having to buy my car back in order not to lose it!! I still have my car. It is an antique now. I will never forget how Japanese Engine took advantage of me while I was stationed away from San Antonio and no matter what positive reviews I read about them, I will always consider them to be thieves who stole the turbo and alarm system out of my car. read more
