I have brought my Xterra to Ewing twice now when I just cant fix it myself. Once to replace the Cam Angle Sensors (terrible design for those clips) and again to replace my Heater Core (I dont have the space or patience to take the entire dash apart. Both times Ewing was fast, friendly and reasonably priced. They were upfront about the fact that they cant warranty the work done with the Sensors because they didnt procure the parts, which is fine, I bought high quality parts from a reputable source when I thought I could do it on my own. They also had an issue with the OEM heater core and had to get a second replacement, but they communicated the issue promptly and since there was no rush, it did not impact me at all. My one complaint is that upon reviewing the work, I noticed some extra screws laying around, one body panel plug was loose and a lower dash panel was reinstalled incorrectly. None of these are deal breakers, you cant call any job done unless you have extra screws left over and the body plug is such a small issue its only worth bringing up to set expectations for when you work on an 12 year old car. I will not bring any of my vehicles anywhere else when I come across a problem I cant fix on my own, I trust Ewing completely, they have earned my business for life. read more

They advertise AC repair in cars.. I went in 3 different times because my car was under "warranty" after the first time. I paid around $3,500 for the first repair of my AC on my 2015 Camaro for the ac (blend door and actuator that's what they said was wrong during diagnostic) it worked for about a week and stopped. I took it back and then it was another issue (actuator again and compressor) actuator was covered BUT I needed to pay an additional $500 for the compressor... then the problem would be solved and would be good to go... (now we are at $4,000 (the Chevy dealership quoted me at $500-$4,000 so no big deal) a month later, I hear a clicking sound coming from the under the glove box on the passenger side when you turn AC on so I take it back because once again... the ac is not working. This time the guy come out, looks at it in the parking lot, hears the sound it's making, bangs on the underneath of the glove box (the sound stops and the ac kinda works), he said "if it stops again bring it back.Your heater blower is going out." I was baffled... I asked "how much that would be" he said "part and labor, you're looking at around $250-300" mind you, the female receptionist was outside too when this happened... I said "ok" and left. This all happened last summer but I'm just now trading my car in. I have all the receipts and paperwork still. read more

My husband's Diesel hotshot truck broke down in San Antonio this morning. His F250 just stopped running and wouldn't crank. He had it towed to Yantis. WOW!! So I called this place because I'm a newly transplanted YELP-A-HOLIC and completely hopeless in San Antonio. The first girl to review them mentioned just what I was looking for. Quality workmanship, good price, great customer service, close to my development! (and a military discount). Well let me tell you.....TRACEY, the girl at the front desk...FANTASTIC!!! She was super friendly and managed to squeeze me in that day. Got a call back with in an hour with damages....$151.00 TOTAL!!! Unbelievable...This was a huge difference from the expected $500 repair. We had feared a bad radiator since it was leaking coolant quickly and a local idiot insisted the radiator was defective. Well to my dismay, they didn't try and give me a line of B.S. Come to find out it wasn't the radiator...it was a water pump! $37 for the pump $9 for parts/coolant $98 labor plus tax!!! $151.00 Listen up Yelpers....if you are having car trouble, give Tracey a call. They are a little hard to find at the new location, but I assure it, it was well worth the trip. Hopefully I will not have any more problems, but if I do....I will be calling them for sure! read more

The place is a bit rundown, but the wonderful lady at the front desk is amazing. She goes out of her way to ensure that your vehicle's needs are addressed, and keeps you in the loop while repairs are being made. The gentlemen who work there might be a bit gruff, but know what they're doing. They are actually very kind. They offer military folks a small discount! The other thing I was grateful for was that they do no repairs without asking your permission first. This isn't one of those "you needed it, so we did it, now pay for it" places. I called this place because their web page says they deal with trucks and custom situations... I have a motorhome on a Chevy Dually chassis... and I needed wheel adapters to make the dually wheels father apart to accommodate bigger tires. This is something any dually owner may be interested in, not just motorhome owners. I was told, "no, you'll have to call a motorhome place"... I responded by saying "anyone who has a dually would be interested in these, not just a motorhome place" and they responded "well we don't have any". Any custom/truck/mechanic shop worth anything would have at least offered to order them. I see these other good reviews.... I must have hit them on an off day. Two thumbs down. Ann S. Just moved into this side of town , I have been in search of a new and honest mechanic , stop by and talk to buddy and he check out my truck and told me the problem with in 5 mins made a phone call and checked in the prices for my truck , gave a total and I gave him the ok . My truck was fix with in an hr and a half . When I to pay the price was almost 80 dollars cheaper ! He said some parts he ordered he didn't need . Now that's what I call an honest person ! Because of this shop I don't go to the dealer anymore. Fast and fair service. It ain't a pretty shop but the service is top notch.
