This spot already has great reviews on Yelp, and after my visit I can definitely see why! I brought in my 2017 Subaru Forester for a smog check and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The staff were super friendly and helpful, you just hand over your car registration form and keys at the beginning, and they take care of the rest. I went on a Wednesday around noon and it only took about only 10 minutes total, which was so convenient. The place is clean, easy to access, and they even offer discounted prices. They accept credit cards, and the waiting area is decent if you need to sit for a bit. Everything was quick, smooth, and stress-free, highly recommend if you want fast, reliable, and friendly service! read more

I have 2 cars they are old but I try to maintain very well I had to go get the Toyota smog and of course took it to G and G smog here in Redlands it was very busy but they are like a well oiled machine took next to no time, they are professional, super courteous very friendly . That time of year to get a smog check- so I sent a quote request on the Yelp app. Greg responded very quickly with my quote, didn't have to make an appointment. I arrived in the afternoon, didn't have to wait. The man who helped me was very kind and quick to begin working on my vehicle. Submitted a request for quote through Yelp late in the day. They responded promptly. I was pleased to know that if you the mention Yelp, the cost is $50 out the door with no other hidden fees or charges. It was a $10 discount! Great value! Plus, on top of that, they informed me that they'll still take me as long as I arrive before they closed at 5 pm. I got there at 4:46 pm. I handed my keys and told them which was my car. (Parking in front is very limited). Then i waited in the lobby with a huge table with chairs. The TV was on to entertain you. Only problem was it was 106° out but at least it didn't feel like that inside because the ceiling fan was on. They were done before 5 pm even with other customers that they were tending to! It turned out to be that my intake air valve was cracked. I needed my spark plugs (bought that on my own) replaced too since my car had over 100,000 miles, plus my air filter was filthy because I didn't change it during the summer. Intake air valve $43, air filter $30, labor to replace parts needed $157, quoted at $230, plus taxes. Dropped my car off at 9:30 am, it was ready by 3 pm. I'm a happy customer.

He knows exactly what he's talking about, and he's friendlier and more helpful too than his major competitors at G&G are. Smog Stop has a much more professional vibe and a much nicer waiting room too than G&G does. They have plenty of chairs and even a TV, and it's much neater and roomier than G&G's waiting room, so do yourself a favor and make Smog Spot your go-to spot in Redlands for smogging your vehicle. My car didn't pass the first time, but Raken kept reassuring me that there were no visible trouble codes which would indicate a problem or a mechanical failure. He advised me to just keep driving the vehicle and promised that it would eventually pass, which it did. I was doubtful, but he was totally right all along. I finally figured out that the key to passing for me was to get my car up to 70 mph and then immediately decelerate to 20, which of course you can't do on the freeway, but driving the back way into Highland over and over again finally got the job done. I must've gone back to Smog Stop at least five or six times to have Raken rescan my car's computer monitors to see if all my monitors had cleared, but he never complained, although I'm sure he got pretty sick of seeing me coming back so often for a rescan to assess my progress! It took me three weeks to get my car's monitors to finally clear, but Raken was really unbelievably patient with me. I just wish that I had asked him to scan my system prior to testing my vehicle the first time, because I had to pay $50 for the first failed test and then I had to pay an additional $50 because he had to test my car a second time too after all of my car's system monitors had finally cleared, but he did give me a $12 discount on the retest. They also do other types of repair work at this shop, including smog repairs, but Raken was always too busy and too focused to specify exactly what other types of mechanical jobs they can tackle, although I did ask him twice. The good news is that they do seem to be totally focused on smog checks and not on finding additional mechanical issues that they can potentially charge you for. Just be aware that you will have to pay $38 for a second test if your car doesn't pass the first time. The only good thing I can say about Smog Stop's competitor G&G is that they don't charge you for a second test if your car fails the first time. So if you have recently replaced or recharged your battery, as I did, and if you're not entirely certain about the readiness level of your car's system monitors, please be sure to ask Raken to check your system for readiness BEFORE you pay $50 for a test that will in all likelihood fail.

I went to AAA to pay my registration and they told me I needed a smog check and referred me to this shop. When I arrived it looked pretty busy. It was like 4:15pm and I was looking to get back to AAA by 5pm. So I asked the guy how long of a wait and he said like an hour or so, So I had no choice but to wait. To my surprise they got my car done and I was out and back to AAA by 5pm. WOW I can only imagine how fast they would have been if they weren't busy! I found the shop to be fairly clean and people friendly. So I thank AAA for the referral (oh yea I even got a discount for showing my AAA card) I will be using this shop for all my cars, just wish they did other things then just smog inspections. read more

This place is absolutely the best place to go. I just bought a 2012 Camaro. Needed to get a smog for the title transfer. Also found out they handle title transfers and registration. I had them take care of all that as well. All in all, I was in and out with my title transfer, new registration and smog certification within 15-20 minutes. This place is !!! Fast !!! I recently had a smog check completed on my car with G & G Smog. The receptionist was pleasant and very helpful over the phone. Technician, Johnathan was knowledgeable and professional. Great little shop. Raken is not very talkative, but he is very quick, very focused, very efficient,…read moreand very organized. He knows exactly what he's talking about, and he's friendlier and more helpful too than his major competitors at G&G are. Smog Stop has a much more professional vibe and a much nicer waiting room too than G&G does. They have plenty of chairs and even a TV, and it's much neater and roomier than G&G's waiting room, so do yourself a favor and make Smog Spot your go-to spot in Redlands for smogging your vehicle. My car didn't pass the first time, but Raken kept reassuring me that there were no visible trouble codes which would indicate a problem or a mechanical failure. He advised me to just keep driving the vehicle and promised that it would eventually pass, which it did. I was doubtful, but he was totally right all along. I finally figured out that the key to passing for me was to get my car up to 70 mph and then immediately decelerate to 20, which of course you can't do on the freeway, but driving the back way into Highland over and over again finally got the job done. I must've gone back to Smog Stop at least five or six times to have Raken rescan my car's computer monitors to see if all my monitors had cleared, but he never complained, although I'm sure he got pretty sick of seeing me coming back so often for a rescan to assess my progress! It took me three weeks to get my car's monitors to finally clear, but Raken was really unbelievably patient with me. I just wish that I had asked him to scan my system prior to testing my vehicle the first time, because I had to pay $50 for the first failed test and then I had to pay an additional $50 because he had to test my car a second time too after all of my car's system monitors had finally cleared, but he did give me a $12 discount on the retest. They also do other types of repair work at this shop, including smog repairs, but Raken was always too busy and too focused to specify exactly what other types of mechanical jobs they can tackle, although I did ask him twice. The good news is that they do seem to be totally focused on smog checks and not on finding additional mechanical issues that they can potentially charge you for. Just be aware that you will have to pay $38 for a second test if your car doesn't pass the first time. The only good thing I can say about Smog Stop's competitor G&G is that they don't charge you for a second test if your car fails the first time. So if you have recently replaced or recharged your battery, as I did, and if you're not entirely certain about the readiness level of your car's system monitors, please be sure to ask Raken to check your system for readiness BEFORE you pay $50 for a test that will in all likelihood fail.
