We drove through here today for what we thought was a simple oil change and tire rotation on our way back home up the mountain. Biggest mistake of our life! We started regretting it, after an hour of sitting in the car bay with multiple employees apologizing for the wait, and making small talk with us, we smiled and said no problem. Well it ended up being a freaking problem!! Little did we know a problem it would end up costing us big! Sharlee was the girl, definitely cannot call her a tech of any kind, that did the tire rotation...‍ we knew we were screwed when she walked up to our window and said, "I'm sorry", holding not ONE but TWO stripped out lugs. FROM THE SAME TIRE! I get that we cannot expect actual mechanics working at a drive through oil place, but at least have competent individuals that don't look like their lunch hour was spent swinging from trees while picking fleas off eachother! [[HIGHLIGHT]]A little annoyed with valvoline after this past visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went for just an oil change. So, to change the oil you have to take off the guard on the bottom of the car. I went home after the oil change and then left to go out of town. On my way out of town I heard a noise that I thought was my tire popping but it was the protection guard half way off. This happened around 8:30pm so I could not call. I come next day at 7am. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I explain the situation and they tell me it was broken prior the oil change.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]No one told me the protection guard was broken during the time of my oil change.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So, since I was not informed I think it is valvoline fault for it falling and being broken. If I was told it was broken during my service I would not be leaving this review. I also had my mother in the car and she did not hear them say anything about the guard protection being broken. So I come here quite often for my oil changes. 3/18/26 I Go in for an oil change just for my car to get SHUT OFF on the freeway!!!!!!!!! Within 3-5 mins of me leaving Valvoline! The oil leaked all out my car who knows what damaged happened within that short drive. I get my car towed because it would not start. I call them they send out a guy to "fix"the issue and my car still wouldn't start. I'm not sure about this place.... I have a BMW so probably not the best place to go... I needed an oil change and I couldn't make it out to Palm Springs....someone suggested this place.... I had a couple of issues... the first thing is they didn't have my filter so I went and bought one & came back.... ‍‍ they offered several other services before they checked to see if they had the product in stock .... I've been going to Valvoline instant oil change locations for years. Today I was overcharged at the Redlands location. I was charged $14.99/quart for full synthetic oil. My car takes 10 quarts total. I contacted corporate and the current rate per quart is $9.99. Note the extra oil charge in my photo. Walmart charges $26.00 for 5 quarts of the same oil. This location is closest to my residence so I am pretty disappointed. Needless to say that I won't be recommending this location to any of my 20k followers. read more

Went in to get an oil change. Next day I'm driving on the freeway and hear a scraping. Pulled off on the side and see underneath the plate low to the ground. Used my GPS to get to another Valvoline and was told the people at this store didn't screw the plate on underneath correctly. They were able to put it back on but it's damaged now. read more

Absolutely HORRENDOUS If you go here, keep your window down so you can listen to them. You will catch them talkign about how they dont know what they are doing. If you are someone who knows absolutely nothing about cars... You are who they target. --EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. noone with any clue about oil changes would be paying $140 to get a minivan oil changed. theyre targeting your ignorance. Thats insane. Insulting even. --Absurd wait times. First visit was 40 minutes. Second visit was 1 hour and 20 minutes. --"Technicians" have no idea what they are doing. Theyre to stupid to rememeber every customers windows are down and we can hear you explaining to each other you dont know how to do it. --ridiculous salesy BS. I expect the air filter sales... but the "18 point safety checklist" thats just cute wording for them to try and find stuff to sell you. they are not state mandated and you can tell them to not do it. they want you to think its "for your safety"...but its really about gettign money from you. Theyre too worried about a long list of up charges to get you in and out in 15 minutes. Youre lucky if youre even in the bay in 15 minutes. Ive been here twice. I do my own oil changes on my personal vehicles becuase its not rocket science, takes about 10 minutes and cost $40. But I have brought company vehicles here twice. Both experiences were a nightmare. My 2 experiences: The first time, only car there. Drove right in to the bay. They couldnt figure out how to get the oil filter back in. They went through 3 new ones before they got it to seat. I could here them talking and it was scary how little these people knew about something as simple as changing oil. As I sat below the "15 minute instant oil change" sign, and took close to 40 minutes. $150 and 40 minutes later, Im leaving worred the oils going to all leak out. Nocinfidence in their abilities. BUT still gave benefit of the doubt, and said I would try again. Second time, pulled in and each bay had a vehicle inside and one car waiting outside. Technician directed me to the third. I sat outside the bay for close to 30 minutes. They checked the air filter and couldnt figure out how to get it back in. I sat there for atleast 20 minutes while they used a pry bar to figure it out. You should never need a pry bar to do something designed to be down with your fingers. By this point the vehicles in the other bay have gone in. Im still sitting there, listening to these "technicians" ask each other what to do. INSANE. They finally get it back in and now Im sitting there waiting for the car in front of me to pull out. This takes anoither 15 minutes because theyre getting their differential fluid changed (this proves my point about targetting people who dont know anythign about cars. NEVER take a vehicle to a valvoline for differential fluid. THATS INSANE) [[HIGHLIGHT]]So now, Ive been sitting there... the other 2 bays have had cars pull up after me, already going in AND leaving. Im livid but im still polite. From a customer service perspective, I would have held a vehicle and brought me over to get me in and out as I had been there for almost an hour by the time I pulled in for them to even start the oil change. No appologies, no acknowledgment of how ridiculous this was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 1 hour 20 minutes and $240 (oil change and air filter) later, I am once again leaving completely no confidence in the work and assume the did something wrong. Came by because my husband needed his oil changed. Had the full synthetic oil change done employee gave a 15% discount because our discount expired. Hubby won't have to change oil for a long time. They checked everything else as well. The lights, filters, tires and give suggestions but you can always decline. Quick service while you sit in your car. There wasn't a line when we came and we're able to drive up to an open spot. Value was good and saved us the trouble of changing the oil on our own. Whole process took around 15 minutes. This was my first time ever getting an oil change at Valvoline and I was very impressed. They had great customer service and were super quick and efficient. They added air in my tires and topped off my wiper fluid. Plus, the whole time there is someone there informing you of everything needed for your vehicle. Martin at the Redlands location was very helpful and informative. I love that they show you at the end that they put in new oil. I normally perform all maintenance on my vehicles including oil changes, but with all the rain I haven't really had the time in my busy schedule to get it done. I stopped by late on a Sunday afternoon and was blown away by the crew that worked on my vehicle. Keith on the phone Colten on the computer Martin under the hood Chase under the car All professionals. They even took the time to re-attach an undercarriage panel that had been hanging down, took longer than the whole service! They recommended other maintenance and an air filter which honestly were due but I wasnt ready to replace them at the time and there was no hard sell or hassle. Drove off without service for the SECOND time at this location after over an hour without any employee interaction. I've been going to different Valvolines for years and this location happens to be my local stop, but it is clear it is egregiously mismanaged and its staff is improperly trained compared to other locations. I was just continuously ignored in my time there. In the hour and 15 min I was there, not one employee came to speak with me about the wait time (or anything, for that matter), and only one car left the bays in the same amount of time, while they rearranged cars that got there after me into closer spots. Go somewhere else. There's a million spots around Redlands that are cheaper and more properly managed. Definitely my last valvoline stop. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! my husband went for a simple oil change for $127 and came out with a stripped lug nut on one of his tires. All Valvoline employees can say is "sorry but we can't fix what we broke but we will make a claim and our manager is notified about it" my husband was upset and asked when he gets it repaired will they reimburse him and they said Yes!!! He went the next morning to have it fixed which cost him $205. Then he made his way back to Valvoline to give them the receipt for the damages and the manager then told my husband they cannot reimburse that much money corporate will call him. Oh boy was my husband furious!! To save yourself the hassle and drama don't take your car there!! It's not worth it when they can't fix their mistakes. read more
