I took my car in for a smog test and oil change. They noticed that I needed front and back brakes, and saved the parts for me to see. The brakes were almost gone, which I believe because my car is a 2007 and I've never had my brakes done! Never had anyone else notice it before when I've had work done! (I'm very easy on my brakes!) Came here for a smog check, the staff was friendly, told me the fees up front and worked quickly to get me on my way. The technician offered to scan the OBD first to be sure everything would be fine prior to initiating the smog check. This was very much appreciated and not something I expected. Thought I needed rear brakes so I checked with several brake repair shops with bids at near $400.00...and problems scheduling around my needs...Remembering that I received great great service at Discount Smog and Repair I tried them and Dimitri came out quoted me almost half the amount of the others said he would get it done around 2 pm .....When I arrived to pick up my car Dimitri came out, told me he had checked all the brakes and they were all fine and no need to be replaced...and there was no charge. I needed to get a SMOG done quickly so I could renew my registration before I went out of town. My schedule has been very busy, so I didn't have a ton of time to wait around, but I also completely forgot to call the day before to schedule an appointment. Luckily I called this morning and Dimitri let me know that they had time to get me in and out quickly. Dimitri is a nice enough guy but I will not return or recommend this shop. I'm somewhat new to the area and was in need of a mechanic for my older vehicle. They kept my Jeep for three weeks to perform smog repairs. Once I picked it up I noticed that the driver side door panel had been broken off? I get it, it's old I'll just fix it myself but it would have been more professional if I was told about it or better yet if they fixed it sometime during the 3 weeks. I didn't think I needed to further inspect their work as it was just smog repair so I drove home. Once at home I popped the hood to find my air cleaner loose without the retaining nut on top installed, the air intake hose off and loose in the engine compartment and the breather hose also loose in the engine compartment? I gave them all the time in the world to get these repairs done on their own timeline and never push them to complete quickly and this is how my vehicle was turned back to me after three weeks? Never again, I will continue my search for a good mechanic in the area as this is not one of them. read more

We've all been to repair shops that try to add on unnecessary work to turn a buck especially on their female clientel you won't have that problem here. I went to Discount Smog and Repait first thing on a Saturday morning. It turns out they were closing Saturdays due to COVID and staffing issues. Dimitri showed up because he was goi ng to help a friend, but he offered to do my smog check since he was already there. I failed a test and he clearly explained how I could properly correct the issue. I was able to do so and get back before he had finished helping his friend. He restested my vehicle and I passed. The best smog check price in town! I called around to about 5 other places, even a Shell gas station, and couldn't find any business that was under $50 for a smog check. I don't know when smog checks got to be as expensive as smog tests, but I'm someone who wants to save every penny without having to sacrifice service. Smog checks/tests can be very stressful chores, that let's face it, no one wants to go do or pay for, especially on newer cars that are low emission/fuel efficient to begin with. Discount Smog and Repair completely eliminated the frustration and anger I feel whenever I get a DMV registration stub with a smog notice on it. It's my new go-to place! Dimitri was so kind on the phone and quoted me the out-the-door price, which I appreciated. This business is located in downtown Redlands so it is close to where I live and shop, which is very convenient. When I arrived, I was welcomed by Dimitri with his friendly smile and warm personality. I immediately felt comfortable and trusted him completely. I'm usually very paranoid leaving my car with workmen, but I didn't feel this way here. And being a young female I always feel like I'll be taken advantage of or treated like I know nothing about cars. I never once felt that way with Dimitri. I actually left the car and took a walk while I waited. A first for me! Dimitri estimated the time the smog check would take perfectly. I believe the check took 20 minutes, but it felt like ten. Now, I must say the actual garage/workplace is pretty messy and greasy, but that is just what an auto shop is. Please don't be turned away from appearances only.
