I first ran into Caesar and his son, Sal, over 10 years ago. Caesar used to be the tailor for Nordstroms in the Brea mall, so his work is of good quality. They've been in a couple of locations since, but his work has always been top notch. Although I don't wear mens business/formal stuff as much any more, I've been there twice in the last year. Sal and his Pops are the real deal! I've been trying to tailor my company leather jacket for a few months now, and no tailor/cleaners would touch it because of the high end quality it is. Finally I found a place that said they would do it. After committing to them, I waited over 2 months for them to finish, only to find out they had never even started! Found G & G through yelp, was out of descent options and trusted the 25 "5 star" reviews. All I can say is that this family owned tailor shop does AMAZING work, and they have very high values when it comes to business and work ethics. So much to say about this place. I want to thank Sal personally for making my tux exactly what my fiancé and I wanted; we can't thank you enough. I took my tux to g and g tailors to have it customized to my body type. When trying on my tux he realized I had been sold a tux that was way to big for me, especially in the shoulders. Instead of just taking our money and doing the work; which he was thinking would cost us 200+, he recommended that we take it back and get a size smaller. He could have easily done the work and made it fit me the way I wanted but just the fact that he didnt take our money and do the work speaks volumes to his character and honesty. I've been coming to G & G Tailors since 2012 and haven't need to find another tailor since. Both Sal and Cesar have helped alter my suit, dress shirts, slacks, and denim. Although they are great listeners to your specific style or alteration requests, they are also great at providing recommendations based on their years in the business and knowledge of current trends. Not only is their quality of work exceptional, their service and loyalty to their customers exceeds expectations. One personal example highlights this. I moved out of the Brea area and have been living in West LA since 2014 but as soon as I get new clothes I need to alter, I still come back to Sal/Cesar when I available on Saturdays for the long drive. Upon arriving on a Saturday afternoon, I dropped off my denim to alter and let Sal know that I can pick it up the following Saturday because I don't live in Brea anymore. Immediately after he heard that, he let me know that he could get the alteration completed within 2 hours so that I wouldn't have to drive the distance again to pick them up another day. He let me know that because I was a loyal and long time customer, he wanted to do this for me with no extra service charge. I was flabbergasted when I heard this and this act of service just confirmed my choice in never needing to find another tailor ever again. read more

This place is incredible. The staff is so friendly and warm, it was a great experience coupled with great work. I brought a dress in that needed the neckline altered and the sleeves shortened. The person who helped me took the time to explain the process and give me an expectation for the completed work. I have to say my expectations were exceeded. But this is the first time I've had button up shirts taken up on the sleeves. And the same done for jackets. They did such a great job. If you have something that you think might be able to be tailored, bring it in. Doesn't hurt to ask. And they're up to date with the latest fashion trends. Want some skinny pants, tapered leg pants. Very personalized experience (especially important in regards to men's "off the rack" suits). I went in thinking I only needed hemming but with their expert opinion, realized tapering (tightening of the pant-calf area) would be beneficial as well. They warned me that "tapering" would shorten the overall length of the pant leg which I appreciated. I picked up the suit less than a week later and couldn't be happier with the results. read more

this place is a ripoff, bought a suit with a vest and dress shirt in to get tailored, since clothes never fit me right, i had to get it all altered. I assumed it wouldn't be so bad. The total came out to $235. $235! you serious? that's a whole new suit. Called another place up around here and got quoted $104. Plus, they were more friendly and more professional. Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Good. It took five returns to get my coat done right. The first time when my coat was to be completed on Saturday, they were going to charge me and no work had been done at all!!!. Then told to be back on Tuesday, and when I arrived I was told that I was wrong and he had said Wednesday (No). Arrived on Wednesday and only one of the sleeves was completed. Told to come back on Thursday. Arrived on Thursday and the sleeve was not the same length in comparison to the other sleeve. Told to come back Friday. Came back Friday and all looked good but owner would not admit they had done anything wrong and still charged my the full price. They eventually did good work, but had a bad and offensive attitude. Only and last time I will ever use this tailor. I recommend you don't use them either. read more

Got a brand new suit for my birthday from Macy's. Great deal. Looking on yelp and reading reviews I decided to go try out G&G tailors. Walked in and was helped out by Sal. Put on the suit and we discussed the fit and what needed to be adjusted. We went over what the suit was for and how did I like the fit, the look od the suit. We decided to let the suit out a bit and hem the trousers. Came about a week later and the suit was amazing. Kept the shape of the suit and now I don't feel like im gonna pop the jacket button. Too bad, all these good reviews at Yelp don't apply to my experiences at this place. For a first time visit, I brought two pants to shorten the length. I provided exact length I want. But after having my pants back, one is still longer and the other's hem is not even. I saw the uneven hem at the time to pick up. The owner's son excused it to that the original manufacturer does not have even hem and they tried to correct it... without telling the fact that when they removed the original hem, the cut they made is not even. I asked to keep one inch hem just like the original. But they made the hem shorter. I also inquired about shortening sleeves. When I put my shirts on, the owner's son suggest cut the sleeves all the way to above wrist. He said it is the fashion... Playful attitude with bad tailoring. - Not recommend. read more

About 10 years ago, I bought a pair of pants from Banana Republic at the Brea Mall but I needed to get them hemmed right away so I couldn't wait for BR's normal 7 day turn around. They told me to go directly to G&G Tailors, the place they send all their alternations. I dropped them off and they were ready the next day. I've been going to them ever since. As a 5'4" Asian girl with no hips, most of my pants and dresses need to be altered. Bridesmaid dresses, pants, jeans and suits have all been perfectly nipped and tucked. Took my work pants in to get hemmed. (Ceasar?) asked me when I'd like it to be ready. I told him the next day, he had it ready the next day before 24 hours had even passed! I'm a pretty petite person so I need almost all of my clothes tailored. I used to not be too picky about who I went to, until one tailor butchered a pair of jeans so that they fit loose at the thigh, tight at the calf, and the seams were all wonky. I came across this place when I was trying to find a place that could save my poor jeans. Sal did a completely fantastic job, and really went out of his way to salvage jeans I thought I'd never be able to wear again. Since then I've brought a bunch of different things here, and I haven't been disappointed by any of them. He's super fantastic at talking to me about what I'm looking for, whether it's a cheap and dirty fix for a cheap jacket that got torn or shortening the sleeves on a heavy, lined canvas jacket. When I brought in a shirt that fit very poorly, he gave me several different options in several different price ranges so I could choose the solution that worked best for me. I was referred to G&G after I bought a tux from Men's Wearhouse. The shop is located in a random row of stores on Brea Blvd. in the old part of Brea. This area is so old that they still have a public pool. I was helped by the owner Cesar, who was very quick, professional and most importantly personable. He has owned the business for many years and continues to give each and every customer personal attention. I've been back to G&Gs two additional times to have the tux and a suit taken in after losing weight and again to have several new pairs of jeans hemmed. Each visit has been enjoyable and makes me feel good to support a local owner-operated business. I have nothing but good things to say about Sal. He's down to earth, fair, and is knowledgable about the latest fashion trends. I've been taking my clothes (mostly suits and blazers) to him for the last two years and all have turned out fantastic.
