Incredible work! I have never had dresses fit me so perfectly before!! I brought in two dresses that both needed to be tighter on my waist as they were a bit big on me, and the black floral dress needed to be shorter and he did a fantastic job. I can't even tell where he had to sew as his work is very clean and neat! There was no loose seams and the fit was absolutely perfect. It hugged my waist perfect and no longer looked frumpy. The dress is a perfect length and it was just exactly what I wanted! I was referred to this Tailor by a dear friend, as I needed my wedding dress altered and it was my mom's, so I was very concerned with who I could trust for the job. I brought the dress in at the beginning of August, where I was told that the job could absolutely be done within the month. My wedding was in November so I was thrilled to hear that I had plenty of time. I was told to come back to the shop in a couple of weeks and that I would expect my dress to be almost finished. When I returned, my dress was no where close to being finished. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was reassured that when I came in next time, that my dress would basically be done with the possibility of a couple minor adjustments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't hear from them for another 3 weeks and when I did, I was told that the delay was because they were having issues finding the perfect lace that I had asked to be added to the neckline.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another couple of weeks went by, it's now the beginning of October and I'm asked to come back for a 3rd fitting. The dress is still not finished, it's not fitting properly on my back/arms and the lace had not been applied. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came back for what I told them, HAD TO BE my FINAL fitting, as my wedding was on November 1st. I was told that I should expect a call to come in later that day and when I reached out, I was told the dress wouldn't be ready until 7PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had plans that night, as "later in the day" meant afternoon to me. I return to the shop the following day & my dress was still NOT DONE! We could barely get the dress zipped. Keep in mind I had lost a total of 7 lbs so at this point, the dress should be loose. I had to wait almost another week to return to get my dress, as I live 45 minutes from the shop and had to work. By the time I picked up my dress, it was 4 days before my wedding and it still didn't fit. Every time we tried to clasp the top, the clasp busted open and tore off. I wasted $1000 and 3 months on having someone ruin MY MOM'S WEDDING DRESS! There was extreme puckering along the breast line, I could barely get the sleeves pulled up, the dress wouldn't zip up and clasp properly and the waistline/bust line didn't sit properly on me. I spent the next 2 days, frantically driving around to different seamstress (on the verge of a meltdown) and spent another $400 to get it fixed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called and texted the original Tailor multiple times but I was left unanswered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I simply wanted an apology and to be reimbursed for the extra money I had to spend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I debated leaving this review because my good friend knows this business but I was patient and understanding the entire process and they couldn't even bother to call me back after royally screwing up. read more

I have to write a follow-up to my review post the reply and comments made by the establishment owner. In his reply; He claimed that he told me from "day one, the zipper installation will take 6 months". This is absolutely a lie! I was given a "3 weeks" ETA! Any logical and reasonable person will see how ridiculous and pathetic his excuse is! It took another tailor minutes to sew a zipper into the pants. After waiting for 2 months, and hearing repeated excuses, and now made-up lies. I was content with an apology. However, I will report and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I just finished reading the review of someone named Erin. I was appalled by her negativity and false statements. I happened to be there when the offer of returning the gown to have alterations done that were not listed on the alteration tag. James guarantees his work and mentioned that he would be happy to fix the other alterations on the wedding dress. We need more James Andrew's. I didn't know or understand custom fitting until I met him through my brother. He can literally tailor anything to make you look simply...better! Been going to him for a few years now. Have purchased two custom made suits, and a few off-the-shelf suits in which he tailored. James does get busy but he does get around to you timely. Has always given me a heads up if there's a delay but otherwise usually on time. I practically don't have a pair of pants or suit or even jeans not tailored by him. A great place to come and tailor any clothing you have. I came here recently to get my dress pants sew back at the leg opening as the inside fabric came apart. Having move to the Rowland heights area a year ago, I couldn't find a good tailor place until I came upon This place on yelp. When I arrived to this place it was a small place and I saw James working on clothing with the sewing machine. We introduce each and I told him my issue with my dress pants, he said no problem I will get this done for you right now. So I waited for about 5-7 minutes and he sew back the inside of my dress pant leg opening. Afterward I asked him how much would it cost, and to his generosity he said nothing it was a simple fix. I thank him and said I will be with my other clothes for him to tailor! James provide great customer service and is very friendly. I found James on Yelp after buying a suit online for a wedding I was to emcee in a week and a half that ended up needing not only hemming of the pants but also to be taken in in the sleeves, waist and legs. So I decided to give James a try, at least for the hemming of this pants. I have to say that I was really pleased and happy with James and his service. He was professional, detailed and thorough and his price was what I thought to be GREAT! He took my measurements explaining exactly what he was intending to do, asked if I would be ok with it without pressuring me and then asked when I need it completed by. To be perfectly honest, this makes me sad to write this review. James is a really nice person. Always pleasant. But unfortunately, I will not be coming back. I brought in my wedding dress (2.5 months) before my wedding to get it altered. I needed it hemmed, waist brought in, belt attached and the bust adjusted. I was told to come back on a certain day, yet when I arrived, it was not done. This happened 2 more times. When I finally picked it up, it was not hemmed. The bust was not done. He told me to call him if anything needed to be fixed. Everything needed to be fixed. If all this work still needs to be done, I am going to have to go somewhere else. Why wasn't it done in the first place? I get minor fixings, but the whole thing? I am not sure what I paid for. It is now 10 days until my wedding and thank goodness for my sister finding a tailor in LH that is fixing everything. I am sorry this happened. James may be a good tailor, but not for wedding dresses. He altered my fiance's shirt and pants no problem. But as far as wedding dresses goes, I would find another place. read more

On my first visit James had me put my dress on and we discussed the work that needed to be done. What I loved about James is that he focused on one section at a time rather than doing everything at once. He worked on the top portion of my dress including waist, and had me come in and try it on. Wrote a very detailed review of my experience but was threatened to have it taken down on grounds of "defamation." This is nothing against James Andrew himself, but I was not satisfied with his service. I asked for a refund, and he honored it. I am not taking down the photographs, because they are not false.
