The guys at G&G are just amazing. I've been a fan of Sal & dad for many years. They will take their time to get your tailor just right and will adjust it to get it right (and unfortunately I can be indecisive at times in how I want a certain piece to fit) and they are patient and customer service driven the whole way through. I wear a suit daily but also because of my height and frame, nearly everything from jeans and shirts have to be tailored to fit correctly, and Sal has NO PROBLEM getting everything right from hemming jeans, adjusting shirts, and fixing tears. 10/10 would recommend Sal & family to everyone read more

A friend of mine from school recommended I stop by G & G to have the sleeves on my new suit altered. I stopped by on a Friday with my brother and met Sal. He did an excellent job and got the measurement perfect on the first try. He told me interesting information on how a shirt's sleeves should perfectly fit and how they should end at the beginning of my hand, and not over. I found that really interesting. I picked my jacket up the following Wednesday, and it was perfect. I should have brought my pants to be altered by them, too. I had my dry cleaner do it simply because of convenience, but they came out a bit longer than I had expected. I will be bringing that pair of pants to G & G tomorrow or Thursday to the perfect alteration. I should have brought the pants to Sal to have them done right the first time! Thanks for the excellent work! I have many more items to bring by in the future! I came back to G & G after the San Diego wedding to have my suit pants redone since I wasn't happy with the simple hem done by my dry cleaner in Chino Hills. My presentation was a week later the following Thursday, I came in the previous Thursday, and Sal had my pants done by Saturday for me to be able to drop them off to be dry cleaned. Took in three pants, lazy me asked if he can tailor using one pant as sample as i hate trying on clothes, he pointed out that all three pants were different styles and it would not work. I got an interview suit years back at my biggest weight of my life. Years later, I still use it but I noticed the jacket has been flapping around me like a pair of wings. After some research, g&g looked most promising and I showed up at the location with my jacket. Cesar the man asked me to put it on and within seconds, he told me it's not worth it to get it tailored and I should just buy a new one. I am pretty sure he saw the doubts in my eyes so he pin the jacket up and explained to me where and what looked horrible on me. And he was right! I wish I knew about this place earlier! I took my suit jacket to a dry cleaner/ "tailor" to repair a hole on the jacket but they butchered it. I brought the butchered jacket and Sal completely fixed a hole that I didn't think could have been fixed. So, I messaged G and G to see if they can alter my pull over hoodie into a zip up hoodie. Sal messaged back promptly, which I appreciate, but he quoted me at $65, justifying the rate because what I was asking for "is not an everyday job." That came as a shock because the hoodie itself was pretty cheap, and definitely below $65. I decided to ask other alteration shops, and the one I went with quoted me at $15. Fifteen. So, I've noticed that Sal takes the time to respond to Yelp reviews, which I think is very admirable, so I have a few questions for you, Sal. How do you justify charging 433% of other alteration shops? Is it because of your craftsmanship and professionalism? See, I don't doubt your work. Many people say you do a great job and I believe them. Those pictures are stunning. But that's not how you prefaced your rate. You didn't say $65 because you do phenomenal work. You said $65 because it's not an everyday job. Then, what makes this not an everyday job? Is it because the job is difficult? I asked the tailor shop I ended up going to how difficult of a job this is. She said this is a supremely easy job. I took the time to look online to see how to do this, and most every instructional said the same thing: this is an extremely easy job to do. You might ask, "they why not do it yourself?" The same reason why shops like these exist. I don't have the means (sowing machine or etc) nor the skillset to do it. That's why I go to shops like this. That's why you go to shops like this. Is it because you don't have zippers? If I brought you a nylon coil zipper (which I wouldn't mind because they are priced at $12 for 40pcs on Amazon. That also means each zipper is priced at $.30), would the rate go down? Is it because you don't or haven't worked with zippers? With all the instructionals and everything online, and especially since you have done this professionally for so long, I can't imagine this being an entirely exhaustive ordeal, especially not one where the rate should be 433% of other shops. Or is it because you're just trying to hassle some kid out of his money because you think he doesn't know any better? To the people who are reading this, I don't doubt his work. I don't. In fact, I wouldn't have even minded paying 200% of the rates of other shops, just because he looks like he does stellar work. But at the same time, if you ask for a rate at this shop, I think you should get a second and a third opinion. Some jobs aren't as "not so everyday" as you think. Some jobs shouldn't go for 433% of the rates of others. I mean think about it. If you go to a fast food shop and ask them for a chicken sandwich and they say, "it's not an everyday job" so they charge you $34.64, you might as well go somewhere else and get the same sandwich for $8. Go somewhere where it is more of an everyday job. I did, and I'm happy for it. read more

Excellent work and excellent service. This is a famly owned business, whoch is awesome. I had big holes in 3 of my favorite (and somewhat pricey) jeans. I took them to G & G Tailors and Sal explained exactly how they were going to be patched. Not only that, the craftmanship of the work is super strong. At one point, Sal did not want to use regular jean material for my patches since my jeans were stretchy, and also because he stated that when I would bend my knee, where the patch is, there would be no give. This review has been long overdue.. I initially came into this shop to alter two suits that I bought from Macy's. After putting on the suits for fitting it was clear to myself and Sal that the suits were too large and it would cost more to alter the suit than to find a closer fit. Sal showed me a high quality suit he had in my size, and after putting it on I had to agree. I came back a week after because the suit needed a few small alterations. Had heard great things about G&G Tailors so we stopped by to see what they could do for fitting a blazer to my non-standard body. Sal and his Dad were very attentive. They listened to my concerns and offered constructive options. They were both respectful, professional, patient, and proved themselves to be trustworthy. Working with them was so comfortable that I also had them make two pairs of custom slacks for me. Great service did a great job on a dress that i needed right away. I thought it could not be fixed but the owner did it.

The price was right, the service was great, and they got me out of some hot water. I had just bought a suit for my wedding and I needed the pants hemmed. The shop I bought the suit from recommended this place so I ended up here. The guy working tells me to put the pants on, two quick folds and two marks and that is it. This was on Wednesday he tells me the pants will be done Tuesday. I said I needed them by Saturday because I was getting married on Sunday he said "Okay I can have them done by Friday" Of course that was perfect so I agreed. The way it played out was rather funny. Giving me a finished date sooner then I asked and much sooner then the original date. Anyways the pants were finished and ready two days later and came out great. Like I said great price, quick, and good service. This guy knew what he was doing. He had that finesse that gave me the impression that this was something he had mastered. This is the BEST tailor in town! I've brought two dresses here. The first time I brought a dress here not only was it tailored perfectly but they were able to get it done in less than 2 hours. This place has absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I'm sure their work on alterations are probably good, but we didn't get the chance to get anything altered because the guy that dealt with us seemed as if he didn't want to help us. I came in with my best friends to get bridesmaids dresses altered. The place was pretty small & there were 5 of us, so it was a little crowded in there. We were not greeted at all. The guy immediately grabbed our chiffon dresses from one of the girl's arms and told us that it'll be around $60-70 and we won't be able to get anything less anywhere else unless we go to downtown LA. He continued to say something along the lines of this alteration place may be too expensive for us and he walked away. We are all in our early 20s so maybe he assumed we were all poor college students. I don't know... But we were more than willing to pay the alterations however much it cost. After a day's worth of driving around looking for stuff for the wedding, I just wanted to get the dresses altered and go home! The guy never came back from the back. So we decided to leave, especially because I did not want to deal with the attitude he had. The entire family at G&G is amazingly skilled and trustworthy. My first experience here came from a friend's referral (the best way to find the best small businesses). My black Hugo Boss suit from Nordstrom was one that I used for every formal wedding and business event, but it never had the sleek, form-fitting look like the suits in the ads did. Sal reviewed every detail of the suit with me: shoulder width, jacket taper, sleeve length, leg taper, etc. While the material of the suit justified the price, the off-the-rack fit does not give a custom tailored appearance. I decided to follow Sal's suggestions and alter the entire suit. That was a life changing moment as it taught me how much a tailor's work can change one's entire appearance. It's been several years now and I still wear the same black Hugo Boss suit for formal events and receive compliments every time. For several years, I bring every article of clothing that could have a better fit to Sal. Every piece is tried on and marked before alterations are made. Sal just has the eye for style that you can't get elsewhere. I've brought suits, jackets, pants, jeans, shirts, and work uniforms for tailoring and they always deliver. Once Sal even told me to return a jacket because the original quality wasn't high enough to justify spending on tailoring. Here, it's integrity first. Sal used to be the Nordstrom tailor so he can pretty much do anything 5 star. I have left shirts missing buttons, spaggeti straps that need to be re attached, buttons missing on jeans, and my bfs button up work shirts which he was able to shorten the length of and reshape the shirt perfectly. Why sal is the best: * he is a good guy. He wont overcharge you. *He tells you his honest opinion of whether something would look better after some alterations. He told my bf that brought a dress shirt in to be shortened that the shirt really needed no alterations and he thought it looked good the way it is!!! *He speaks perfect english * he keeps it real & he knows how to be a friend- One time he just listened to me rant about my bad day with Bank Of America and how im not able to use my temporary card any longer.
