Many retail and restaurant places would take the hit, deflect, or find other ways to avoid ownership of the situation. I myself spent 26 years in restaurants, so I am very sensitive to how a business like this handles rough interactions. I think it is the mark of a responsible and accountable business manager when they choose how they're going to respond, not to easy situations, but to difficult ones. To the credit of the owners of King Pelican, they rose to the occasion, accepted their part in it, and did everything they could to make it right. For what it's worth to me, nothing instills confidence better to me than seeing when a restaurant or a retail space shows how committed they are to making sure that their customers are whole after a difficult interaction. King Pelican executed a perfect recovery and deserve my complete confidence. Easy 5 stars.

My first time here, the card loader machine was finicky and would only let me add $5 at a time to the card, but one load ended up being $3 something, so that wasn't really an issue. I'm impressed by how clean the machines seem to be. I used a machine this time that last time I saw a woman soaking something in. (Not sure what she was doing but the water was dark grey) I was a little hesitant but the machine actually looked quite clean. The employees I've interacted with are always pleasant. I've been standing next to a locked washer now for a half hour waiting for the machine to unlock with my clothes drained of water, but it just keeps spinning on wash mode. The attendant (who are all usually on their game and present) has seemingly disappeared. I've now spent $15.75 for one load of wash and it's STILL IN THE WASHER. The machine will not unlock and allow me to get my clothes. I'm sorry Ocean, but this lack of service made me lower my review to two stars.

The place looks very clean and they have a lot of washer from small to extra large loads. The cheapest wash using the small white washers is $1.75. And they have washers that could wash up to 6 loads for $6. Dryers are $.25/8 mins. They have folding tables on the side next to dryers and all the way to the back close to where the coin changer is. You can also buy detergent and fabric softener in the vending machine. There's a waiting area for you to sit down and relax while waiting for your laundry to be done. There's a nice old Korean guy here, I just don't know if he's the attendant or the owner. Saw him wiping the washers.

Normal household washer 2.50-$5.50 for industrial ultra large washer.
