This is my second time coming here and so far, so good. I come either early when they open or late morning. I can't speak to the crowd at any other time but I've not had any issues at these times. I like that it's cashless because I never carry cash. My first time here, the card loader machine was finicky and would only let me add $5 at a time to the card, but one load ended up being $3 something, so that wasn't really an issue. I'm impressed by how clean the machines seem to be. I used a machine this time that last time I saw a woman soaking something in. (Not sure what she was doing but the water was dark grey) I was a little hesitant but the machine actually looked quite clean. The employees I've interacted with are always pleasant. I have been coming here for about 7 years now since I live very close. I recently stopped because the area it getting worse with a lot of homeless people. That's not really the problem but it became one when one of them verbally attacked me and threatened me to get in my car before he beats me up. He definitely cursed but keeping it clean. I was with my children and luckily they were already in the car. I rushed to get in my car and called the police. They arrived and I rushed to get my clothes and just left. Worst experience ever. They need to do something about it because this will definitely affect their business. The facility is nice and convenient but again not worth my safety. read more

I've been coming to this laundromat for over five years. In the beginning it was great, I like that you don't need quarters, the workers were always there cleaning the machines and the floor, machines worked great and it was reasonably priced. The last two years it's been a complete 180 in terms of service and cleanliness. It started with the machines being broken and not fixed. They put a sign on saying to use another machine and next week the same machine is broken. Then they raised the prices but still the machines were broken. Now, I rarely see a worker there, let alone doing their job. I understand it could be because of COVID that they stay in their office but that shouldn't mean that they don't clean the machines or the store. It also doesn't account for the fact that they don't enforce the wearing of masks inside the store, or any other health code violations such as smoking right outside the door. The workers don't even wear masks half the time, let alone tell people they need to wear them. It's very upsetting to see this because I can't avoid the laundromat during this time, and this one is the closest to my house. But it's probably time to find a new place to do my laundry. read more

This place it was owned by a really nice Asian guy before, but it was taken for a big mean guy who is not a big helper. Dryer machine needed to be fixed of the reading card and I just noticed after add some money, (5 minutes) and I talk to this new owner to see what could I do at that point, and he told me, that I have to change dryer machine, which I wouldn't mind, but I asked him, if he could add my same time in the other dryer, and he say "No" you have to wait for this machine to be done, and then you moved"... so, by the time that that machine ended, I couldn't find an empty dryer! 5 Negative stars. Save your money. Go somewhere else. Clothes do not get clean here. The machines are broken down, dirty and smell. I have been coming here for several months trying to give it a chance but it has always been dirty and gross. I would not even do drop off service. Going somewhere else. To top it off, employees are rude and don't wear masks. Once the employee has several friends over, ate and chatted up all with no masks; while customers wearing masked tried to maneuver around them. I notice every time I come here they never open on time, but today is ridiculous. 12/27/17: I think the machines take money from your card on the back end. I always check how much is available on my card. No matter how much there is, I always have to add money. 5 loads at $2.20 per load is $11. I started with $16 & change. how is it there is only a buck & change left? Now I need to add funds to dry. Been coming here for several years and I have yet to be disappointed. Maria is the BEST!! If there's an issue she addresses it right away with a smile. She's polite & friendly. She keeps everything clean & sanitized-Machines, floors, countertops, the restroom... She's always helpful if there's an issue with a machine or a spill on the floor, etc. And last but not least girl works her ass off! She deserves all these accolades and so much more. read more

I've been doing my laundry here for the past 4-5 years and since the new owners have taken over they did clean up the rif-raf but I noticed the price for a regular wash on the smaller machine has gone up to $4.50 That's $1.25 in less than a month and some might think that's not a lot but if you wash your colors and white's and so forth separately on a weekly basis then it makes a huge difference. I'm definitely going to check out some other laundromats even if I have to drive further than a few blocks. read more

For years I've been collecting quarters and stashing my loose change in a jar on my kitchen counter. Every time that I had to make a trip to do laundry, my supply of quarters slowly dwindled. Once it ran out, I had to make trips to gas station or bank to procure new rolls to pay for laundry. No more stacks of quarters and unnecessary trips to the bank or gas station because Gaffey Wash and Dry has card laundry! Quarters be damned, my card is so simple and convenient to use. Gaffey Wash and Dry's facility is sparkling clean, which is appropriate because the last thing I want is for my clean my clothes is to touch a dirty surface. It happened at another laundromat in the area a while back. I am grateful to the staff here for keeping this place so clean. One of the other things that I love about Gaffey Wash and Dry is the television. The last time I was there, I watched part of the Dodger's game! The TV is a bonus and better than staring into the oblivion of my cell phone while I'm waiting for clothes to dry. If you don't like folding clothes as much as Marie Kondo or myself, there is a fluff and fold service. Personally, I love folding and organizing, so I didn't use it, but it's a nice option. Do not use your debit card!!! My dryer broke and just needed 30 mins to dry my clothes ($0.30/per 10 mins). I don't want to by a card for $2.00 since I only need it once. They don't accept coins but do debit card. To surprise, my debit card was charged $15.00? What the? That should only cost $0.90! read more

ZERO MASK REGULATION HERE! As I type this there are 3 people in here without a mask, the worker has walked past them several times without even saying anything. Everytime I come here there are people with no masks on. The staff doesn't even wear one properly 99% of the time which is scary considering they provide drop off laundry services and handle people's laundry. I only keep coming here because this place is somewhat clean compared to all the other laundromats in the city.. I'm tired of the blatant disregard for State and County code even in these times where cases are skyrocketing. The card system takes a little getting her to, but I think in the end it's pretty convenient and for the business, it creates customer loyalty, since people are more likely to return when they have money on the card for this place already that they don't want to go to waste. There should be an option on this Yelp app to give - 1 through 5 ratings because Gaffey Wash and Dry deserves a less than zero rating. The only reason that I am here today is because I stupidly loaded one of their wash cards with $50 a month ago and will not let that money go to waste in spite of the fact that this place is a dump and the workers here know nothing about customer service. When you can actually locate one of these women who work here, they are rude and behave as though they are being terribly inconvenienced with your humble expectation that they do their job. Totally unprofessional and gross on so many levels. I'm all for a casual work dress code, however, one employee here crosses even that' line by wearing Daisy Dukes with legs that need to be covered up. She is the same employee who constantly disappears in some tiny room with the morbidly obese and condescending owner. When this place first opened, I thought it was fabulous until I saw the attitude and actions of the owner and his staff. At this point, the machines are all going to hell, which would be somewhat forgivable if the staff weren't such jerks about their crappy machines. This is the first laundromat I ever been to, so I really don't know what to compare it to . I walked in put my cloths in the washer with soap in all the washers I was using . Waiting time is boring good thing I brought my phone to surf the net. When wash is finished put my cloths in dryer and more waing. You do need to wait around for your cloths as others wash g are watching everything going on. Not bad place to soak your suds when your Washer breaks down. read more

This is it. I'm done. The owner here is a total scam artist and doesn't complete any form of regular maintenance or upkeep. Right now 16 of the 50 washers are broken (I counted) and have been broken for quite some time. Of course almost all of those 16 are small washers. So for anyone looking to do smaller loads separating your clothes out. Sorry. You're gonna either have to wait in line for one of the few small washers or pay extra and use the larger ones. Ironically these never seem to be broken. I'm done coming here. The owner has even taken all the snacks out of the vending machine and put them behind the office counter. Like really. Now your holding snacks hostage too?!? Forcing people to wait for the attendant, who is never there, by the way. Places like this are only looking to leech off people from our community. I'm out. I started coming when it first opened, it was conveniently close to home, since then I believe the business has gone through different ownership, the prices weren't bad until recently, the price have gone up drastically, not only that but the new owner either chooses not to turn on the AC or they are broken and hasn't fixed them, the laundry Matt is full of plug in fans but the temp inside the building is a sauna.The water sink to wash hands provides little to no water. I have been going to this laundromat for over 20 years it has had several owners/operators some good some not so good I went there this morning expecting it to be open at 6AM (since opening hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are 6AM) but found that the hours have now been changed to 7AM opening so I will be now going to the place on Pacific Avenue between 9th and 10th Street since it opens at 6 I work and it was so great to be able to do my laundry before going to work on Fridays I am sorry that Andrew doesn't own it anymore read more

I don't think I've ever seen her wear a mask. She's coughing all over the place and dealing with 2 customers without a mask as a type this. Not even covering her mouth as she coughs. Since the change of ownership a few months ago the hispanic lady that opens on the weekend is late most of the time! Today myself and a few of the usual customers that arrive at 6:00 were unable to get our laundry done. By 9:15 no one ever showed up! A few of us left and returned but she never showed up! 2 weeks ago she arrived at 8:30! I heard this is happening occasionally. When the gal shows up she seems like she is not coherent perhaps just rolled out of bed or was up all night. The phone number posted for emergencies and on their website is incorrect. Too bad this laundrymat went downhill as it used to be the best in town. I plan on returning another day when someone else is working to attempt to get the owners telephone number. If I don't get satisfaction from the owner I will report him to the better business bureau and not return. read more

I frequent often for about 3 years. The service is great. I come in during the morning shift because it is clean and sanitized often. The attendant in the morning is very friendly and helpful. She sees to everyone's needs. I like the machines because they wash clothing good. You do not need quarters. You use a card that you load there. read more

This is THE best kept laundromat that I have been to, ever. I give 5 stars for: -cleanliness -new stainless steel machines -3 LCD TV's on the wall (and one is always on my favorite channel, ID), -they accept debit and credit cards to add money to your cyber laundry card. (No need for bulky quarters) -the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I drive 15 min just to cone here. Passing several other local laundromats to come to this one. read more

This is a good laundromat that uses the card system instead of having to bring a bunch of quarters or possibly leave with more quarters than you needed. My only complaint is that they need to open on time, especially on the weekend. I get up extra early to do laundry here so I can get my weekend started afterwards. Today marked the second time that I've had to wait over an hour for it to open as the employee got here after 7:15 am. Other than that, the place is clean and usually has working machines. I also want to suggest more carts that can fit out the door so people like me who have a lot of laundry can use the carts to help bring in/out their heavy loads of laundry. read more

so I used to love this place, its right next to my house, clean, cool, bright and it used to have a nice staff, it has gone down hill so bad in the last 2 years. I kept hoping it would redeem its self but no, it has just gotten worse. It looks dirtier and not well kept. i do my laundry there but I mosetly partake of the 'fluff and fold' and they kept losing some of my things and getting bleach spots on my black clothes. I would ask them about it but they would always blame it on someone else that worked a different shift. As of late the credit card machine hadn't been working, but only when one specific person was working and she only accepted cash. If I bring in my laundry and a different girl is working then the machine works fine. I have been doing my laundry here for over 4 years and after this morning being told I either pay now in cash (who caries cash these days?) or they cant do it at all. Also I am not allowed to pay at pick up...new rule as of last week when I dropped off last weeks load. I must say it is time to find a new place. read more

It is Saturday at 6:35am and there are 4 other people aside from myself waiting outside even though this place is supposed to open at 6am. 35 minutes late is very unprofessional and bad for business. I've experienced a few problems with the machines (one time the card reader ate my card, one time the washer didn't spin, so on and so on) and every time I would ask an employee to help me she would act as if I'm bothering her....always rude and never apologetic. One time it was super busy and I noticed that someone left their clothes in a washer during the whole time I was there and before I left I informed the owner (a man) and his reply was "Well, what do you want me to do about it?!"
