Found this deli on yelp because my fiancé and I were in the mood for a good breakfast sandwich. I got in around 11:30 AM and placed an order right before a huge lunch crowd rolled in. There are bar stools along the right side of the store where you can wait or eat your food, so I decided to sit there while I waited for my order. There is a large drink selection, which tempted me to pick up few bottles while I waited for my food. 20 minutes later.. everyone that came in and placed an order after me has picked up their food and left, leaving only me waiting for food. Mind you, I ordered two bacon, egg, potato, and cheese sandwiches. I go to the counter to follow up on my order since new orders are being called in. I'm told that "it's almost ready" and 5 minutes later I'm finally able to pay and head home. We eat the sandwiches at home and find that they are very good, but the potato that was used is pretty much mashed with peppers and onions mixed in. Luckily, I love peppers and onions, but I can imagine some people not being happy with that surprise. Overall, I'm not impressed based on previous reviews and I'd be willing to find a new deli to get my breakfast sandwiches. read more

You definitely cannot go wrong with G&S. I have frequented this establishment many times over the years. I used to work in an office not to far from there. After the office moved locations, I STILL make trips to get my favorite sandwiches! The staff are friendly and helpful. They also have a fool proof order system to get customers in and out quickly. I suggest you place an order beforehand to minimize wait time. My favorite order is a roast beef sandwich on a roll. The cheeseburger deluxe is a close second. The prices are fairly reasonable. So very happy to come across this deli! I went there for the first time right when covid hit. The deli was closing for the day but the owner and 2 staff workers were there! The owner Anthony intr himself and apologized for being closed but welcomed us back for another visit! I thought just with the upbeat and wonderful welcome I would go back when they were open. I ordered an Italian hoagie and was in heaven as the bread was everything I remember growing up with from little Italy in NYC. So, as I admired my sandwich and still in awe over the bread but also that the deli meat and cheese was legit and they definitely did not skimp on portions .... I went back! This is one of my go to deli spots!!! I used to always get the Nico panini or their chicken Caesar!!! But now I don't eat chicken so my options are slim. I wish they offered more than tuna. Ultimately that's why I can't give this 5 stars because they only have tuna as a fish option and they don't have menus. Lol. Every time we try to order from our office there's no way to look at their awesome specialty sandwiches. But I digress. Their chicken Cesar is probably the best around. G&S is a solidddd deli. From breakfast sangwiches to lumch cold cuts or pastrami sangwiches, this place has it all. It is always busy between 11am and 1pm. And rightfully so. They are constant and non stop, which they have perfected. It seems like it can be overwhelming, even for us as customers.. but they are alwaa ays on point and make it as seamless as possible. Only reason i didnt give the 5th star is because my taylor egg and cheese was a littttttle light on both taylor ham and ketchup. But thats the only gripe ive ever had from here. This small Greek owned bodega offers a decent selection of creative wraps, subs and regular sandwiches, assembled, toasted or "pressed" by a friendly crew of local young ladies, behind the counter. My #1 complaint re: G&S has a tiny, extremely awkward parking lot, a "handicap friendly" front entrance, and an "ordering system"(or lack thereof) that invariably adds several minutes to what should really be a quick in & out lunch. There is nothing really "wrong" with G&S; but, if I were the owner, I might want to consider offering several Greek delicacies (oversized Greek Salad w/fresh Feta, spit-roasted Gyros, Baklava) to create more of an identity. One request: Please add a few different flavors of low calorie Snapple and/or Arizona Iced Tea. read more

One hell of a deli. Now, we're not talking Jewish deli, by any means, but the variety and consistency of the food is amazing. Lunch is INSANE, so call ahead and your order WILL be ready. Steve, the owner, is a very nice and caring proprietor. He serves a lot of the community with catering and there are letters of thanks and awards from City Hall, the public schools, churches, rotary clubs, etc. If you have not tried G&S, do yourself a favor and stop in. The girls behind the counter are adorable (figuratively and literally). Very pleasant. A lot of regular customers and they address you by name!! What can I say? I'm very impressed. This spot has great selection and quality of meats reminding me of delis in New York. This was a deli I had heard about from my husband yet, every time we attempted to go there it was closed pretty early. Finally we caught it open and decided to order a sandwich. Boy! Was I utterly impressed with not only the quality , but the selection of meats available to choose from. This deli is super authentic and carries Boar's Head brand meat which is important to me being that I'm from New York. I ordered a spicy blackened turkey it was made from boar's head but yet I had never heard of it before I was so excited! Along with that we ordered Black Label cheddar cheese(delicious, sharp) and the usual amount of toppings along with some cherry and jalapeño peppers. The sandwich was phenomenal the bread was beyond fresh and absolutely delicious crispy on the outside and soft in the inside exactly how I like it.
