Such a solid concept and spot. I ordered to go and was pretty impressed since there are sandwich shops nearby that are also amazing (ie. millburn deli) but I will say Dutch's was solid. They have a lot of awesome different sandwich options and although I found them a little pricey, they were a generous portion so if absolutely go back! I ordered the Pho Sure sandwich on a multi-grain bread but it came with carrots which I didn't want and substituted them with roasted peppers. I think this is how the sandwich should be made IMO. Carrots have no business being on this sandwich. The roast beef was cut thin and had so much flavor. The other ingredients were avocado, arugula and tomato which added the right amount of juiciness and the bachans and sriracha sauces pulled it altogether. TLDR: food I ordered could definitely use improvement. Service- 5 stars. Food- 2 stars. Came here with a large group after seeing the sign that it is the "best" sandwiches in NJ. Seeing that sign, I had to come in a try it. The service was great and I had some great conversations with the workers. However, the food didn't meet my expectations. The bacon ranch cheese fries didn't have much cheese or ranch. After eating the few fries that were covered, everything else was just plain fries. Cheesesteak on ciabatta (recommended by a worker there) just didn't work. The ciabatta couldn't hold the sandwich together and everything fell apart. Additionally, the meat used had some sort of sweetness to it. Not sure if intentional or if that's just their seasoning but it threw me off a lot. Unfortunately I left this place craving more. Stopped by Sun 12/7 afternoon, first time there. I heard they had a great chicken caesar wrap & the guy working there recommended the special one with dill pickles & special sauce in it. Very happy I followed his recommendation. This was a really interesting, great sandwich. This is now my favorite chick caesar wrap. Also, it was huge, I only ate half & looking forward to the other half for tonights dinner. Got my son a chick parm with vodka sauce & he was very happy as well. I really love this tiny sandwich shop on Church Street in Montclair. The guy at the counter taking orders (the owner?) is very friendly. Every time that I have been here, it is busy. That is always a good sign. The menu has a long list of fun and creative sandwiches. They also have a great breakfast menu. I have ordered from both menus, and everything that I've tried has been delicious. They even make some excellent cookies for a little post sandwich treat. Stopped in for lunch after looking at the great reviews we saw. To start off, all the staff was great and super nice. They also had a gluten free bread option which is always nice. I got the driver and my fiance got the Freddie mercury on gluten free bed. I asked for chipotle aoili on mine but it was kind of drowning in it and took away from everything else. The mozzarella was good but the chicken cutlet was just your average cutlet. The gluten free bread they use was fantastic but it does cost an extra $3. As someone who always has to order the gluten free option it gets annoying having to always pay an extra fee and $3 is alot. The freddie mercury sandwich itself was very good and the fig jam was a great touch. The fries were okay but could have used more bacon for being bacon cheese fries. Overall, after looking at the reviews my expectations were high and I was left a little disappointed. I look forward to coming here again and trying g their breakfast as I see that is what people really rave about. Yep, this place is legit! Stopped by with a huge order first thing in the morning. Took a bit of time because it was all prepared fresh, but the little wait was so worth it. I heard nothing but praise all around when I got to work and people dug in. We had a collection of about 8 different sandwiches ordered so there was a variety of praise that went around on a bunch of different menu items. I got the Dutch Daddy, which was a great call! The Pastrami was excellent, who doesn't love some bacon slid in there, the Muenster cheese was a unique (and excellent) addition and Dutch's Signature Sauce...sign me up for more! They 100% need improvements in their website. Check it out yourself. The Dutch Daddy is described as, "Best breakfast sandwich in NJ..." What's in it??? You'll have to go to find out! Some of the items are obvious, but some just need a more robust description, or any description at all... Plenty of drink options. I felt bad bringing a coffee over from Starbucks, as coffee is not amongst the drinks listed on their website. Only when I saw the sandwich board out front did I realize I could have grabbed a coffee there. I simply can't believe that they're able to offer so much as far as sandwich selection, desserts, sides, drinks you name it. They struggled mightily with their POS system. I ordered a BLT with avocado. A few issues here. The price in their system did not match the price on the menu that they have on display. They struggled to add avocado to my sandwich in their system, but did in fact deliver my requested avocado on my sandwich. What kind of bread did I get? White toast. What kind of bread was I offered? There was no offering either behind the register or on the menu. Do they have rye? Gluten free? Wheat? I still don't know other than that my sandwich arrived on white toast. I'd have loved it on rye, but I don't know if that's an offering and it simply wasn't a big deal as the actual sandwich was just fine by me. My son devoured his Dutch Daddy. I know that it had pastrami and cheese, and that it was served on a roll. Pretty sure it also had eggs and bacon, but it is not on the online menu for me to look it up. Shared a side of fries that came out hot, crisp and delicious. We waited outside at a table and they brought us our food. Really couldn't have been any nicer, and the food was on point. A little pricey, but not outrageous. I'm sure I'll be back sooner rather than later. Parking on Church St has always been tough. I grabbed call ahead takeout during a weekday. The place is small with just a few video games to play. Nice touch. A ton of different sandwich options. To choose from. I started off with a Becky with turkey bacon and returned the next day for four more different varieties of sandwiches. The ingredients are fresh, soft and buttery brioche buns that made my mouth water. The sandwich meat is good Boar's Head brand quality with delicious flavor. The menu selection is curated to perfection and enough variation that there is something for everyone in the family. If you like a unique sandwich, not just your typical cold mom quoted "we have food at home" turkey and processed cheese slapped between white bread, this will be your jam. The staff and owner is super nice, reasonable prices, the establishment is clean with vibrant artwork to compliment the uniqueness of the menu. Got the Angry Bird with curly fries and honey mustard and the guava cronut. The chicken cutlet on the Angry Bird was perfectly cooked and spicy, and the caesar salad on the bread was amazing. The bread itself was delicious and a lil tough, which honestly worked with the salad and the chicken so well. This was my second time ordering from here. I got the Dutch Casa Crush which was a cronut with sausage egg and cheese and my fiancé and I shared the bacon ranch cheese fries. The sandwich was amazing. It was flavorful and delicious. Even when my fiancé opened it to see whose food was whose he was like this smells delicious. We ordered the Barkley. It states on the menu grilled steak but what we got was chopped up meat. Could have maybe lived with that but the sandwich itself was just not that tasty and seemed low quality. It didn't help that they forgot to put the caramelized onions in the sandwich. Staff was very nice and did their best to help us as it was our first time. We will not be going there again. For $14 I expected to receive a good sandwich. The bread was hard and not fresh, barely any mayo and way too much vinegar. I ordered the fairway sandwich and the Pastrami Umami Sandwich. So let's start with the good; very cute location and decorations complete with arcade game. I requested the fairway on a roll rather then a wrap and the accommodated. The bad...The $15 sandwich was very light in regards to the amount of protein added. I really wanted to love these sandwiches but the few times I've been there, theres always something wrong. I had an egg, turkey bacon, cheese sandwhich on a brioche bread, it was VERY salty. Like the person cooking my eggs had no idea how much salt to add to an egg, which is a bummer because i could tell if the salt wasn't there, the sandwich would've been good. Chicken cheesesteak simply wasn't good. Need a whole new concept IMO. The Turkey sandwich (cant remember which exact one) was good but nothing special. Could get same thing at a regular NY deli.
