I was told that all my brakes needed to be replaced along with my rear calipar. They were going to bill me $1300. I cannot afford to spend this much on my car for just these two issues. I took my car somewhere else and they told me that the calipar did not need to be replaced and that it was my brake pad making the sound. Very happy to hear that I didn't need to replace that autopart as it would have been very expensive at Lex Autos. However, very disappointed in Lex autos for trying to gouge more money out of me. I got a pretty good deal elsewhere to replace all my brakes and rotars. My car drives perfectly now and didn't have to go in to debt to fix this issue.

Buying a "Certified Pre-Owned" 2023 CX-5 here has turned into a nightmare of hidden defects, brushed-off safety concerns, and zero accountability from both the dealer and Mazda corporate. To start, I was never given the CPO inspection checklist with my paperwork, and I had to repeatedly hound them just to get a copy. When they finally produced it, it became obvious why it wasn't volunteered: the report doesn't include an inspection date or a listed source. Without a date, there is no real proof showing that this safety inspection actually happened before the car was handed over to me. Despite these omissions, they also casually checked off "Passed" on items that were actively failing or physically impossible to test: Brakes: Marked as having "no unusual noise," yet they ground and squealed from the day after I got the car home and continue to do so today. When I brought this up at a subsequent visit, I was completely brushed off and told to just "wait it out." Navigation: SD card marked as present and tested and Navigation marked as tested, which is impossible because the vehicle didn't even have an SD card installed. How can a SD card pass as present and tested if it isn't in the vehicle? You also cannot pass a system that is missing the core component required to make it work. There were n/a checkboxes present that could have been checked off on the inspection, but they were not. Electrical & Tech: They missed spotty electrical issues; the safety sensors only work sometimes, and Apple CarPlay only connects via the cord on occasion. They also missed a visible slice in the door seal, a missing rear mud flap, a missing tire valve cap and a crackling speaker that sometimes is so loud it vibrates the door panel. The lack of care didn't stop there. The car was delivered dirty instead of detailed as promised, and inside, I found a pile of sensitive paperwork and actual copies of driver's IDs from previous test-drivers. In a separate instance and failure by Whaling city, I realized they undercharged the down payment on my card during the sale. I personally drove all the way back to the dealership to fix their billing mistake and hand-deliver those sensitive documents so they would finally be secured. During this time I brought up my concerns of the vehicle (most importantly the brakes), I was told to just wait it out, they will get better. Like that even makes sense. Afterward, I sent multiple emails trying to get management to address the vehicle's issues, and they completely ignored me. The manager only bothered to call me back after I explicitly threatened to escalate the whole mess to corporate. I did not speak to them. At this point, I don't want to deal with Whaling City Mazda anymore because they are the ones who signed off saying the car was already okay in the first place. Why would I bring it back there just for them to tell me nothing is wrong, or worse, destroy the vehicle further? The biggest disappointment is that Mazda Corporate has been just as useless. I am currently stuck going back and forth with them, as they are trying to suggest I go right back to the very dealership that ignored me. I am currently waiting on a callback from corporate that I placed a week ago, despite being informed they would respond within 24 to 48 hours. I have requested that Mazda allow another dealership to perform a proper certification and fix the issues with this vehicle, and bill the selling dealer since they are at fault. Alternatively, they can buy my car back outright, as my trust in the dealership and now the entire brand is completely unraveling. If Mazda Corporate won't stand behind their own CPO warranty, then the "Certified" label is a total scam. Whaling City Mazda cares a lot more about pressuring you for a 5-star review than they do about consumer safety, transparency, or basic business ethics.

Bought my last XC90 used from them, got 2 key fobs with the car. Within 6 months one of the fobs needed a new battery. Having changed my own fob batteries for the last 15 years, I opened it up and replaced the battery. A tiny (and I mean minuscule) piece of cheap plastic fell off that was tasked with holding the battery in a precise location inside the fob, rendering it useless! I used the second fob until it was time for service and then brought in the non-working one to them to look at. I was told it would be over $700 for a new one! The computer part of the fob was perfect-only a tiny piece of plastic to seat the battery was missing. Nope-need a whole new one! I spoke with the service manager, Peter, explaining what had happened, no deal. $700 for a new one. I explained that I have changed the fob batteries for years in my prior cars with no issue and was told that perhaps I should have called the service department to do it for me. I found that to be incredibly condescending. I asked them if they checked the fobs for issues prior to reselling a used car and was told that's not part of the pre-certified process. So no idea if the plastic was already cracked prior to my opening it. I suggested that they replace the fob for free, due to the issue and no guarantee the plastic wasn't cracked when I received it. After much back and forth, and a promise from Peter for a prompt return call, I had to call him back a week and a half AFTER he promised to call. Eventually Peter dropped the replacement fob cost to $375. I refused. I went to Mitchell Volvo and they were able to fix it no charge. After 15 years-Gengras has lost all of my business. I will buy my cars from Mitchell Volvo and I suggest others do the same.

Having to use the computer to control common tasks is dangerous. There's a real safety issue. The car manual on the computer is incomplete. There is no AM radio. Downloading an app is the fix. There are too many things to fix. The technology isn't convenient. The Volvo app is archaic. The dealership does not stand behind its love it or return it policy. The three day return policy was not honored. I called 18 hours after the purchase. I didn't get a return call. I reached out to the sales manager who would not honor the policy he states on the website. I was well within the return policy and he refused. I would strongly advise avoiding this dealership based on my experience. As for the dealership advancing a response to this review, please don't. The dealership's canned response cannot negate the reality of my experience.

Took time off to make the appointment but when I showed up the main person I was dealing with seemed to be busy with another customer. They had me go to a new sales guys who very recently had joined their Hyundai team. He came from a different dealer and a different car company so I was a little critical on if he would be about to answer my questions. Sure enough I seemed to know more about the vehicle than he did. AND for the test drive he told me due to insurance purposes we could only make right turns. I looked at him and asked what about Highway driving and he said no. I voiced my displeasure in that as I needed to see how the car performed on the highway. Just about that time the other guy showed up and said that yes we can go on the highway. Now before we started to drive I wanted to know about some features on the dash such as the camera. New guy didn't know, the other guy showed and didn't know but said he'd look it up but wanted me to leave for the drive. Got the impression they wanted to rush me out on the test drive. Oh, so before I showed up and in all my correspondence with them I referenced a specific vehicle by number. When the new guy went to pull the car around (should have been ready when we got there) he couldn't find the car. Took him at least ten minutes of looking. When he pulled it up it wasn't ready to be shown. Still had all the plastic on the seats and boxes in the back. I was disappointed as I wanted to check out the third row seat but couldn't because they hadn't set the car up. Other salesman shows up and takes boxes out of the back and has me look but it was rushed, so much so I forgot to sit in the third row seat as that was one thing I wanted to do. Overall probably the worst experience I have had on seeing a Vehicle I wanted to buy. Complained later that night to the manager. Listed what went wrong, but the price was good and I wanted the car so the lower part of my email talked about a couple more questions and coming back to the dealership in a few days to perhaps finalize the deal. Appears manager only read the first few sentences of the email and not the bottom part where I was going to come in. So needless to say, I kept looking and found a more hospitable and friendly dealership with the same vehicle and at a lower price. So I purchased from them.
