I had them bleed brakes, and after a full day of keeping my vehicle, I went to pick it up and noticed the brakes felt the same. I looked under to see the bleed valves not even wet. They denied it. I recently moved to the area and I was extremely nervous finding a mechanic since my last mechanic lied to me about rotating my tires. But when I dropped my car off they made me super comfortable and I felt they communicated with me promptly every step of the way. They called before they fixed anything to get my approval and gave me a price that included everything, there was no added on fees when I picked up the car. I also like that on my receipt they wrote down what I asked for them to check and included the mechanics notes on everything. I had to come back again only because I couldn't afford to replace my battery until the next week. But when I came back they replaced my broken tire sensor for free! Im so thankful for Andy, Dan and the rest of the team. Also make sure you tip your mechanics. While I've had some bad experiences other places its important to not take it out on a new mechanic. This wasn't the experience I had hoped for. I am being generous with two stars. When I dropped off our van on Monday it was going in for brake service. I explained that I needed it back by Friday as we were leaving for a family trip. Tuesday comes and when they got the van up they found more issues which I told them they could fix. At this point I was told it would be ready Wednesday. Then on Wednesday I was told they couldn't get to it so it would be Thursday. You can see the pattern here....Thursday comes and they say to will be Friday. For the first time I am told their best mechanic isn't available and they are having issues. I'm not sure why they waited until Thursday afternoon to mention this but as long as I had it on Friday......Friday afternoon comes and I call again (they never call me after Tuesday to provide updates) and they said some parts just came in and now it would be next week. It once was there an apology. Unfortunately at this point I lost my cool and acted unprofessionally. I felt bad for this but you know what, they were able to "move some things around and get it done". The van is working great and that is what matters. However how they handled this entire situation was uncalled for. No business should be impacted if one person is unavailable. Had they been more upfront and honest, maybe saying we can work on the other things at a later date that would have worked. Unfortunately foe me this will be a first time/last time and I am sure they wouldn't want me back for how I acted. On my oil change, Avec detected that my rear brake pads needed replacing soon. Setting up appointments is easy with their online appointments page. Avec replaced the brake pads and alerted me to a rear bearings issue that made sense to resolve during the brakes work. I started coming here after a bad experience at the dealership I had been taking my car to for the four years I had it. I have been here three times, twice for oil changes/regular maintenance and once for an inspection. Everyone has been friendly and communicative. Pricing is fair. I had never used AVEC before but my friend goes there and loves it so I decided to give it a try. It was such a great place to bring my car for service. Everyone is super friendly and they did my oil change and safety check in no time. And the price was very good. I had taken my friend there to get her car serviced and it looked so small but it sure isn't small. The back where they service your car is huge. They were fast so we waited. I use a cane and when they saw that they moved my car back inside so I didn't have to worry about stairs, I just got in and drove away. This is now my new go-to place for car work. They are honest and do great work. In all the years I have been taking our cars there I have never had to take one back for the same problem (they fix it right the first time). Service: didn't use... see why below Staff: 4 DateL 7/13/2021 After seeing all the great reviews, chose them to get an estimate to change 4 spark plugs in a Fiat 500. The folks seemed friendly and the place approachable. They requested to return for an appointment so they could see the engine which is reasonable. Upon the arrival of the appointed day/time, they looked at the engine and gave the following estimate: $158 Spark plugs $50 Intake manifold gasket $473 Labor Ok, I'm no professional mechanic, but having done tune ups and oil changes like many people have, when someone tells me I need to dish out over $700 (including taxes), I get suspicious. Especially when you have to change them every 30,000 miles! I decided to do the work myself and after 1 hour of working on it, the total out of pocket cost was: $50 Spark plugs $15 Misc Even if I charged $100/hour for labor, I'm still WAY below $700. My expectations were in the $200 range as the overall cost. So assuming that hourly rate, I don't know where they got over 4 hours to change 4 spark plugs. Maybe it was an honest mistake and the technician that looked over the car mistook it for another model, but it certainly leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I encounter a gap that large in an estimate vs reality. My recommendation? If you know your car, or you know what you've paid before on the same service, make sure it's in line with the estimate you get, and/or get estimates elsewhere. If you get an estimate from them that's in line with your expectations, the other reviews will probably be in line with the quality of their service. I just can't comment on that. By the way, even the Fiat dealership was the highest estimate at $270 until encountering their estimate. read more

Hello Andy, since we've never met and you weren't a part of the conversations or interactions you describe, please allow me to correct much of what you may truly believe to be accurate, as it's obvious you're either ill informed or only chose to include certain aspects to try and hide the actions of your employees. In picking up my vehicle, all was fine, I just wanted to get my keys and leave. Kim joined into the conversation I was having with the gentleman (who was just fine) when they each asked if there was anything they could do. I responded "unfortunately not, I'm done." Kim then stated "yeah, we are too". I then stated I just wanted to sign my paperwork because I couldn't wait to leave and she then called me a very disparaging name. Don't believe me, ask your manager. You can choose to believe your employee, that's fine and I truly don't care as I would never set foot in your building again, but your employees have an anger management issue, as evidenced by other reviews I've since read. And what you've written here is a great attempt at saving face, but it does negate the facts. Again, I would advise anyone to steer very clear of this place! I would actually give a zero star if possible. read more

I received a VERY warm and friendly experience. I did not wait for very young, maybe less than 10 Minutes despite not having a "official " Appointment!! I also met the Business Owner who popped in: he made/constructed several ingenious figures mar from miscellaneous old car and other machine parts/wire /old welding rods!; in fact to many different parts & bits and pieces! Plus paint and maybe string?!! It worth a trip, simply to see his collection but certainly for Excellent Service including Annual test's etc. Me? In spite of the fact that I was a day late for my appointment, I received the service that I had requested. I had written down the wrong day and when I got there and they told me I was a day late I really thought they would turn me away. Not only did they say they could get me in it was the fastest service I had ever received for my car. I had been going to the dealer for my oil changes but someone recommended Avec. I tried it and will never go back to a dealer. My car was inspected and the oil change and all levels checked in an hour! If I had gone to the dealer it would have been at least 2 hours! I had to take my fiancé's Audi SQ5 in to get brakes, an oil change and an inspection. I knew it was gunna be a hefty fee, but when we went to pick it up, Andy, the owner, informed us that her brake pads were fine... sometimes German cars just have squeaky brakes. We wouldn't have known the difference if he would have gone ahead and replaced the pads, but he did what was needed, and not what we assumed we needed. What I thought was going to be a $1500 visit turned out to be les than $150! I'm so glad we found a trustworthy car service center in my new town. It would've been easy to take advantage of us, but Andy cares about doing the right thing. I will only be using Avec as long as I'm in this area! read more

This is the start of my seventh year of having AVEC Service Center take care of my car. The team there is great. In a cookie cutter, careless world of generic places, it's refreshing to go to a place where not only do they know your name, they actually care who you are. Andy and Kim, the husband and wife co-owners, and their son, Eric, who runs the service desk, really know how to take care of people. They do great work at a fair price. They might not be the cheapest, but when you leave, you don't have to worry about having been overcharged, or having had unnecessary work done. This was the 3rd time that I went to Avec for my pick up truck. This time my I had front brake calipers sticking and this has happened before. I did not want this to happen while on a long distance trip so I took it to Avec for repairs. They replaced the calipers with rebuilt ones, replaced the rotors and installed new ceramic brake pads. They also replace the brakes lines from the rear calipers to the hard tubing. The cost was less than Firestone by a few hundred dollars when they did my rear brakes. I trust Avec as my son has been going there for some time. I get all my oil changes there and it is less expensive compared to the Franchise auto repair shops. It is very difficult to trust auto shops. With Avec I feel pretty good that they are going to be honest and treat me right. read more

I went to Avec because my friend recommended them. However, I did not have a great experience there and will not likely return. The technician I spoke to on the phone was friendly but the young guy behind the counter that greeted me on arrival was not friendly. In fact, he was a bit condescending and had that whole "I'm a man and I know everything, you're a woman and you know nothing" kind of attitude. I did NOT appreciate that. I explained the problem, they gave me a high estimate, I asked questions, he got annoyed that I asked questions, I found a cheaper solution and he huffed and fixed the problem as requested begrudgingly. I've been to several mechanics and yeah I've been to some where they try to pull the rug out from under me because I'm a woman but usually they're at least really nice about it. This place was not cheap, not friendly and not compassionate. I'd have to pass on this place in the future. read more

I've been going here for years. Andy the owner and actual mechanic is wonderful. His front desk staff is regularly lacking. The newest front desk person, Kim, yelled at me on the phone and would not let me tell her what was wrong with the car. I was just there not too long ago and I asked them to look at all of these things and they found the first problem and stopped there. Anyway I think this visit could have been prevented if they had listened to me the last time and I can already see that Kim doesn't want to hear my concerns today either. How do you fix the car If you don't listen to what the customer says is wrong? Maybe there's a whole other issue in another area? Anyone got a recommendation for a Toyota mechanic? read more

My husband's car was leaking what looked to be oil after another service center had changed the oil and other fluids in his car. He didn't want to return to the original place to get the situation rectified; instead, he wanted to take his car to Avec, since we'd both been there before for repairs, and had great service. We didn't have to wait long to find out the problem. The oil tank lid had been left off. Avec replaced the oil and placed the lid back on, and all free of charge. Now that's how you retain customers! We will be back there more now to get oil changes/inspections etc., even if we have to drive a little further to get there. read more

After not improving, we discovered it was the A/C itself, and a few days later, I had a new air compressor. We've used Avec for years. Probably have had 7 different vehicles serviced there fairly routinely. I honestly don't know what happened but they have really gone downhill. The last couple of experiences we had is driving us away. They take too much time to complete the work (this last one over a week), they don't answer their phone, their approach can be condescending and blunt and they make stupid mistakes (they left a shop light hanging from my son's truck and he drove home with it hanging from the wheel well). No apologies from them, just was upset that my son couldn't drive it right back over. Ugh. Avec just lost a ton of business from me and my entire family. read more
